Republicans maintained majority in the House and are due to get two seats in the Senate, marking majority there.

The checks and balances are gone.

Long live the king.

**** me.
Nice. *flies away* :4charizard:

EDIT: oh **** I forgot this isn't the Disco. Sorry for the small post. ^^;

Alright I have to ask?

Who honestly think Trump will do things like build a wall if he wins or increase deportation, target minorities, or the LGBT community, and more?

Your forgetting, we have congress and a cabinet, the president doesn't have all the power. They are for the most part a spokesperson driven heavily by what the core government wants.

His ideas will be completed erased or toned down to the point of not mattering. With the rise in support for the LGBT community, do you really think the government wants their opinions to stay null? No. They'll find ways to appeal to them, so that they can be used for future voting and agendas.

We are definitely not going to get a wall. Let's think back to the last time a country built a wall. Oh yeah it was in WW2.

There will definitely not be a wall. We don't need reasons to escalate war or have other nations turn on us.

The only think that could happen is deportation, and even then, immigration is still another factor for controlling to government. IF they wanted them gone, it would have been done by now.

Sure it may seem like I'm just saying things, but honestly I say it's worth a listen. I doubt these agendas will be met due to the outrage and potential wars it can create. The government does not want another world war to start, we can't support it, and it will be to catastrophic.

Anyway, I'm off for the night, we'll see what the morning brings.

Just know this don't jump the gun. Remember:

You can say that a person's word is guarantee. We only have to wait for what the future has in store.

Remember.

Most republicans in the Senate still don't like Trump.
That this remains constant is my one slim hope. However, I have deep concerns whether pressures from constituents will be enough to force those representatives to comply, regardless of their distaste.

We will see. But I am not optimistic tonight.

You're not helping.
Would that I could.

I've been mostly lurking to spare you all my mindset. Though it does not seem I am alone, which is comforting enough, with all due I think I will largely try to continue.

I just hope we see a Carter or Ford situation.

4 years of a largely ineffectual president. Democrats are going to by nature be contrarian in majority, most likely. Republicans seemed to always be... begrudgingly taking him across this presidential race. And, of course, by nature of the house and senate having an infamy of doing things horribly inefficiently in the first place.

Okay, the meme quotes should calm down now, please. I'm aware of how reactionary people feel right now. Let's try to be constructive, okay?

I'm probably only doing fine because I was pretty neautral in the first place and I'm trying to remain optimistic either way because I have a possibly amazing future ahead of it. I don't want to get depressed like I used to all the time. Also, everyone is miserable here, but elsewhere people are pretty happy. I'm just happy to see the future be possibly different, I feel like Obama's been president my whole life.(Which he technically has, I mean, before he was elected I don't remember much.)

Actually, the people are hoping for Trump are still skeptical. :p It's so strange. I guess misery really does come first, not that I'm blaming anyone for that, feel how you really feel.

Isnt it funny that TwitchPlaysPokemon moved on faster from this then people here and half those people are straight up gay

I find that funny

That says something
Well, I mean, that is a chat. This is a forum posts where people are putting things in more detail and such. By the same logic, I'm watching a stream with a lot of pro trump supporters and they're moving so fast you can't see what they're reading. :p Much more so than that pokemon chat is.

Monty Python memes are constructive. Especially now when everyone's so shaken up. Its like... A relaxing bath after a hard day at work. Except the water is memes and work is the election.

The issue with Trump isn't that he'll push for these things, because let's be honest, more than half of them are probably not even possible or requires way too much effort and resources. The issue is that he said these things in the first place. Now that he's won the election, he's definitely going to tone down what he says (at least, I hope he does), but nonetheless, the damage has been done. The groups he targeted while running are now afraid and those that supported him feel they can push against them.

The major issue with Trump's presidency is the social tension it will cause (at least initially). We can only hope that over time the tension dies down, but for now minority groups are going to have a harder time feeling comfortable.

One-liners are barely constructive at all.

I'm aware of how bad this is, trust me.

But I want things to calm down in general. Meme-posting is not generally allowed. I let it pass for a bit so people can get it out of their system. But it's time to actually get a bit more serious now. Especially with what kind of posts can come up.

People overblowing this outcome just further inflate the already exaggerated despair, yeah Trump is winning but as many said before he can get held back by the senate. Also is just part of the political cycle, one party causes dissatisfaction and the other takes advantage of that and takes power until it ****s up and the oppossing one gets back and stays until their ****up, repeat ad infinitem.

As a mexican living on the borderland I only can say: "welp.. life goes on", our coin is taking a nosedive due inverstors spreading fear and we might have a (unlikely) conflict due the wall thing, and that causes an struggle, every country can have hard times no matter of its economy, power, etc.

You're entering a time of change, changes of this kind are inevitable and you'll see them as a part of life, this can cause a struggle for you, but remember that before us there was a cold war and other tensions. but the people of that time lived on and went foward, and you can go foward too regardless of the obstacles.

Now that Trump is the next president, pray for his good health for the next 4 years.

You don't want Pence in office.

I'm very disappointed about how Drumpf is winning.
That guy is literally all but one of the negative stereotypes of America and he's going to be president
Racist, homophobic, makes fun of disabled kids, aggressive, loves insulting people, has thin skin. Then again, with gamergate loving him as 'hilary gon ban mah gayms' 's at least obvious proof that gamergate is just a ****ing joke

Right, we should be fine. Just don't give up hope and continue to express what you think. That's what will actually make things better, giving up only will make things easier for Trump.

This. If you dislike Trump, then Pence is much worse than Trump, and that's saying something.

Who wants some pretty men (again)

If it's not launch like people were saying, then it's most likely getting new stuff.

Though, I guess MK8 and Splatoon already kinda made it obvious.

You know that isn't true.

The progress we've made won't go away that easily.
I don't think the country will be destroyed and I doubt a wall will be built, but I do think the most immediate effects will be:

Health Care - Congress has tried over 60 times to repeal it only for Obama to block it. There is no true plan to replace it, at least not from Trump himself, bar a miracle like moderates channeling their inner Mitt Romney.

Supreme Court - We will most likely have an incomplete court until mid-late next year with the Republican's regaining their majority. Garland will most likely be canned.

Foreign Policy - Congress has little control over this. The TPP will most likely not go through (meh). Mexican relations will sour (they already fired the guy who invited Trump to speak) but how trade will be effected remains to be seen. Russia is weakening but this does secure them time to recover and help consolidate influence Ukraine, Syria, and Turkey. China is probably going to get a lot more aggressive. We might gain back influence in the Philippines however.

1st Amendment - Beyond interest in tightening laws governing the internet from Trump surrogates & Melania, Trump TV could be re-branded into a State TV.

NATO - The Non-Proliferation Treaty could weaken if Trump continues to not be interested in providing defense and result in our allies (ex. Turkey) looking into getting their own nuclear weapons.

Clinton - Depends on how messed up internally the FBI is. We could face a "finding a crime for the criminal" moment.

Civil Rights - Yep...

Climate Change - The Paris Agreement could break. We signed it, but without an enforcement mechanism we could back out and take other countries (China/India) with us or potentially face economic sanctions (IDK).

That's fair enough. Although, it should be noted that again, his words don't mean much. Now I can't say I belong to any of these groups or know how they feel, but I think that they have nothing to worry about or fear.

The world's become pretty acceptive, a president doesn't change that or affect it. It's just one person out of a million.

You'll always have that one guy against you, but know this, unlike them, you have the power in numbers and support. With that, the one person can't damage you and will only become smaller and smaller till it's like they are not anymore as time goes on.

Fear is tough, I understand, but try to not let it get to you. The world is what you make of it, you can embrace who you are. Don't let anything hold you back. I know it's tough (trust me, I can certainly relate to that, but in a way no one would probably guess or think about on here.), but as long as you have the will power, you can overcome anything and live a better life overall, knowing that you accept who you are, regardless of other's thoughts.

Good bye Hilary, you won't be missed.

Nah, I have the feeling that she'll be back for revenge in the future after Obama beat her the first time.

Wait, is this actually confirmed? We're getting a switch port of Smash with possible new characters? Am I reading this correctly? If this is actually true, it will make me feel so much better right now.
