There was an episode early in to the CW version of the Flash where The Flash was facing a chick who could make things explode with her touch.

She blew up his costume and left him in an alleyway in his boxers.

It was nothing more than ''Hey, so Grant Gustin is pretty isn't he?"

And that's why people question skin more than violence. Story based nudity is like a needle in a hay sack, because a majority of it is just to have a pretty guy or gal naked.

Story based nudity could convey a sense of helplessness/ weakness

This is especially true in American culture, which is almost Puritan when it comes to sex, but gun obsessed. Meanwhile, Europe and Japan which are essentially the opposite in that regard don't see weekly school shooting. Remember that Tokyo is one of the safest cities in the world, with virtually ZERO crime.

Why has the west then adopted this value system? And what are its consequences?

1. Don't even hint at violence towards a person. Stating that a person's life could be in danger is the same as making threats in some parts of the world. It can get you into legal trouble if you aren't careful.
2. I understand that you are passionate, but please calm down. It's just a video game. It's optional DLC in a game that NO ONE IS FORCING YOU TO BUY. If you don't like it don't buy it. Talk with your wallet, write letters. Talking about 'deadly consequences' is only going to make you look like a fool, or worse get you in trouble.

Considering how little news Smash has gotten in relation to characters, I've really just cast it aside, to be honest my honest reaction to any character that isn't one that I want would be,

"Huh oh they finally released more characters? Ones that I don't want? Going back to Splatoon."

Smash has pretty much been dead to me these past months, though on the plus side I personally can't really be effected too much by negative smash news. Unfortunately Nintendo has also been kind of dead to me these past few months, but I hope that changes.

I want to make it clear that I consider the whole nudity is taboo stuff to be silly. I can understand when it comes to protecting young minds, but in adult based entertainment, I find it silly.

That is a very interesting perspective. And I have to agree with you. It's similar to when you go out, and the ugly friends cockblock the attractive girls, and then try to **** shame her, all out of sheer jealousy, even though they claim to do it to "defend" their friend.

Sort of a "if I'm not getting any, no one is" mentality.

Which certainly explains the mindset in modern culture that is against "objectifying women in media" especially in the camps of extremist feminism and the like.

Even though everyone said I should play Okami first, I used the positive reception to wager Okami should be saved for last and played Tales of Symphonia.
I already played the game up to the wind dungeon but quit...and remember why I did.

While the unique battle system is fun, there's certain things I don't like about JRPGs...grinding, loads of text, a nonsensical and rather generic "chosen one, save the world" story...and Symphonia has all of them.

I've been told, like Earthbound, it gets better, but we'll see.

EDIT: It doesn't help that the wind dungeon with the traps is ****ing ANNOYING.

All right its story time.

I used to be just like all of you, hyped for smash. I'd make sure to check the pic of the day on smashboards because the official cite didn't provide a description. But then when the initial roster was revealed, I saw that a character I played as in the previous game wasn't there. I played smash, but it just felt empty, eventually it just didn't feel fun anymore playing the game and I just stopped and cast it into a pile of games, and just devoted all my hype to Splatoon. This isn't the first time this happened either, Back when Mario Kart 7 came out I was down one of my favorite characters, and the game just felt meh to play. Since Mario Kart 8 came out, I have cast MK7 to a lonely dusty corner on my game shelf. Actually I think I do know why this happened. I've refrained from sprouting this theory because its just too far fetched to be real,but... In both games, Mario Kart 7 and Super SMash Bros Wii U/3DS, Both my secondaries from the previous games in MK and SB respectively, were cut, but the even bigger thing is that in both games that my secondaries were cut, my main Wario... was an UNLOCKABLE character, not a default one. I blame it all on the curse of the locked Wario.
