We live in a society conditioned to believe that violence is fine, and I'm not merely speaking about video games, but rather, the general mindset of the culture is acceptance toward one, and aversion toward the other. And my question is simply "why?"
This is especially true in American culture, which is almost Puritan when it comes to sex, but gun obsessed. Meanwhile, Europe and Japan which are essentially the opposite in that regard don't see weekly school shooting. Remember that Tokyo is one of the safest cities in the world, with virtually ZERO crime.
