Fun Fact: Commercials in Japan are usually strange because they're not exactly trying to inform the viewer about their product as they are trying to make them happy.

Even if some anime aren't adapted from Western series, there is a good amount of Western influence in the medium.
In fact, anime's existence itself is a Western influence. The first Japanese animation works were inspired and using techniques first used by Western animators.
Of note is Osamu Tezuka, known as the "father of manga" and pretty much who paved the way for modern manga and anime as is, had influence from Walt Disney.
Of course, as the years passed, both Japanese and Western animation evolved differently, with cultural differences naturally playing a role in said evolution. That's why Western cartoons and anime are often distinguished as separate entertainment mediums.

For me at least, I really had a great time yesterday. I got to pass out candy yesterday to other Trick-or-treaters yesterday. Saw some little ones as well as recognized some classmates. The only thing that sucked was the fact that it was rainy and chilly. So we had to have a bunch of umbrellas just to make sure we didn't get soaked lol. Other than that, I had a pretty good time!
Also on another unrelated note, I actually got some pretty cool drawings from a really nice friend I have.
They actually do look pretty cool. I'm surprised considering she does a lot better with the anime style of drawing. Yet again, I'll probably use these for my signature.
I was thinking about getting the Mega Yarn Yoshi for Christmas with a Cherry Blossom on top of its head since that's her favorite kind of flower and Yoshi is her favorite Mario character.
If your wondering why I'm saying all these things, its mainly because I'm full of energy and excited for what's to come lol.
Thanks! It was a lot of fun to record. I hope we can have you on again sometime! The total time for the podcast will be almost 2 hours. Once we finish editing the sound, I'll give an ETA on the release date-- I believe it will be next Monday. The discussion Nantendo and I did will be posted tomorrow.
Oh, and you guys should check out the Source Gaming website in 15 minutes. I wrote a post that reviews all the posts we did in October. If you don't read Source Gaming daily, its a good way to catch up.

If being knowledgeable on the history of anime and appreciating it as an art form makes me go "full weeb", then I guess I went "full weeb" long ago.
I was just dropping some facts about anime and how the medium has Western influence. Yes, I am a fan of anime and manga, which should be obvious given my avatars. I've always appreciated the art styles, even as a kid when I already had some preference for anime over Western animation works.
Regardless of said preference, I'm by no means trying to discredit Western animation, which itself is diverse in artistic value. If anything, I'm almost discrediting anime as being just a derivative of Western animation done by the Japanese...
An example of this being the Wizard of Oz, which was adapted into an anime once, and it was pretty good, not as good as the original, but still pretty good.
So now I 'm in the Strawpoll bandwagon. Which asks what character do you want the most in Hyrule Warriors Legends. I put most of the major ones on. But I put other just in case I forgot anyone else.

If I hadn't made that clear...

My thing is that I find it awesome when Japan takes western influence for their animation but find it kinda stupid and bad when the west takes influence from Japan
Wasn't that done with last week or are we just keeping that going until the retail release?
Besides Tama said from mid-August to end of October. Why would we need another 15 days?

Never seen Kill La Kill so no comment but you should watch Gurren Lagann, even just a bit. @Zoroarking pretty much covered some of it but there also the likeable characters and excellent story and a couple other things.
