The best thing about Poison is that her trans nature barely plays into her character. She's literally just portrayed as a savy woman who goes after what she wants, gets **** done, and flirts with all the guys that she wants and has a ton of success doing it!

She's honestly so ****ing confident in who she is and what she does that it baffles me that people hate her because she's not entirely on the side of good.
It's how that kind of character should be done.

For example, a gay characyer shouldn't have their gayness be their defining motivation, goal or character trait. I love it when you get the interesting character who just happens to be gay.

For example, in Street Fighter. Eagle is a world class fighter who respects his opponents but doesn't pull punches. He's also gay but it's not what he's spouting every twenty minutes. They don't remember him because he's gay. They remember him because he's got mad class.

I swear though. Most gay characters anymore come off as either token or preachy as **** anymore.

Are they exclusive to any particular retailer, do you know?
Not to my knowledge, but that could vary if you're in the US. I do know that Boba Fett is a temporary exclusive to the Playstation bundle versions at the moment. But it's only a timed exclusive, and will release separately soon (and if you get the figure it still works on the other platforms). There are 6 confirmed light up ones so far:

But there may be some for unannounced figures too yet. Apparently Darth Maul, Ahsoka and Ezra won't get them. From my understanding they couldn't get both ends of Darth Maul's saber to light up. So imagine it's a figure positioning thing.

They are also doing figs from the upcoming SW film. They've shown two of them off already. There are also 3 Star Wars playsets (which are basically story modes) in DI 3.0. One for each era of SW.

Poison's history is pretty interesting.

She originally started out as a CIS female character until Capcom got concerned that feminist activists would respond negatively to beating up a woman (but apparently that's fine if she used to be a guy?). So they just basically said that she used to be a man, before completely replacing her sprite with another character in some releases as many considered it to be "not good enough".

What she is exactly varies between regions too. IIRC, she is post op in Japan, and pre-op in US. But Capcom's official stance on her now is basically "she's whatever the fans think she is".

Even Roxy is left ambiguous.

Not going to watch a 20 minute video. I know the history, I'm guessing this is just some youtube guy who hasn't done his research or is misinformed.

In fact, I believe that Poison's gender was female right up until the game saw its first release. It wasn't until after the release that capcom introduced the stipulation that she was a "newhalf".

Down on the corner, out in the street.

Poison was always intended to be transgendered.
And then you have this tweet by Ni****ani saying Poison was female the whole time :p

There was a problem fetching the tweet

I personally think that Ni****ani, Yasuda and Ono are intentionally screwing around with us by constantly contradicting themselves and really just leaving the whole thing up to interpretation :p

Edit: GG Smashboards censorship :p

She's saying 'SHADDAP GAIZ WUZ A JOKE'. She's also cisgendered, so how the **** is she supposed to know about how the actual trans community feels? She's giving a community she's not even part of a bad rep. I want to laugh and cry at the same time

I've learned to ignore SJWs. I try my best to for a while. Especially considering that all they do is waste time and energy getting angry over. They rarely effect games and games that I even care about and major developers don't even give a care about them since they are looking for mass appeal anyway.

But man ever since [NAME REDACTED] it's becoming apparent that they don't even know or like video games. It's just something to use as a platform to push their agenda and to get well....

But I've learn to give up on caring about these losers anyway.

I still have that, it's got Simpsons and Turtles sprites in there too IIRC.
Wait a minute, seriously? I need to see this

I am all for LGBT representation, especially when it's done well. Wu on the other hand goes on about things the wrong way. I didn't know much about her until recently and I don't really have a positive opinion about her now. The fact she acts obnoxiously assertive with her Samus arguement (the "DEAL WITH IT" attitude never makes you look good.) and then vandalizes the wikipedia article is pretty telling.

I can't really stand Wu. She gives feminism a bad name. :/

I'm all for equal rights, but pandering is another story.

I don't spend my time on the Internet being an angry loudmouth crying about how games don't cater to my own interests. I can choose the games I want to play and those that don't interest me. Everyone does.

That said, feminists do have some valid points in regards to how women are sometimes represented in games. How they express their opinion and the ruckus they cause are abrasive, though.

Actions speak louder than words. If SJWs are going to play the victim card and act obnoxiously, they won't gain more sympathizers. The attitude Wu has in regards to the subject hurts her more than it helps.

Of course, it also doesn't help there are sects of "gamers" that go to the extent of sending death threats or posting her personal information on the Internet.

Neither of the sides is doing this with focus and rationality. This is almost like a war.

Both.

Falco is a sidekick, and he's not a particularly iconic sidekick like Luigi, Diddy, Tails, etc. I literally went ''Really?" when I unlocked him in Melee, because while he's memorable. He's never felt like he had the status to be in the game. He's a cool character, but he just feels like he only made it because he's a different animal and not because he actually is hugely iconic.

Wolf however has a primary role in the franchise. He's the rival/anti-hero/villain/leader of the other team. Has the better alternate to Fox's play-style, but that's a more personal opinion thing. And the only thing really seemingly holding him back in Sakurai's eyes that he wasn't there before Falco is that he's too similar in build and appearance to Fox.
Keep in mind that the only Star Fox games at the time of Melee's development were Star Fox and Star Fox 64 (As well as the canceled Star Fox 2, but SF64 borrowed a lot from that). Wolf didn't really have much depth to him at the time; he was just a reoccurring boss in SF64. They didn't expand upon Wolf's character until Assault and Command, both of which pre-dated Brawl and led to Wolf making it into Brawl. Falco, meanwhile, had a constant presence throughout the entirety of both SF and SF64 as one of your teammates. And of those teammates, he's unquestionably the best choice to put in a fighting game.

Sakurai tends to pick good guys over villains, anyway. Keep in mind that Ganondorf was a last minute addition to Melee's roster. For much of the game's development, he was not going to be a playable character. So, even though Ganon did make it in the end, this does mean that Zelda/Sheik was essentially chosen over him. If a secondary hero/damsel in distress takes priority over the main villain, I'd imagine a secondary hero would take priority over a secondary villain as well.

I'm pretty sure the whole "Falco was picked over Wolf because Wolf would be viewed by fans as a palette swap" thing was false, by the way. If I recall correctly, it was part of that same NeoGAF post that @ PushDustIn PushDustIn proved was all made up information (the same one that claimed Dedede was next in line for a spot on Melee's roster and would've gotten in had Intelligent Systems declined their request to use Marth, when in actuality the next character they would've added if they had time was Wario).

Never change Wu, never change. Especially the back pedalling that soon followed.

Why can't people just create characters that happen to be part of LGBT, and not just shoe horn it in "Just because." It seems some have that view because it "needs" to be represented to fill some quota. Don't force it upon someone just for a representation of a group of many people. Poison is a character I think is well done.

By Melee SFA was in heavy development which is why Chris Seavor voiced Peppy and Slippy.

Kind of weird to think that Falco was included when he was basically relegated to a cameo in the upcoming Star Fox game.

I really wish that post was never made. So much misinformation exists from that.

Update:I got in contact with the original poster for the following information. After careful consideration, we both determined that the information was illegitimate. Therefore, anything from the original post is open to debate as some parts of it are purely speculative.
http://www.sourcegaming.info/2015/04/13/the-definitive-unused-fighters-list-in-smash/

Wolf was never considered for Melee, at least according to the dozens of interviews I've read and the 100+ pages of ballot responses. Haven't found a reliable source for Dedede in Melee.

General message for everyone: don't trust anything that's not sourced.

And if it's sourced check the sources. I link all the sources on SG not for the benefit of me (after all, I know where I got the info), but so everyone can check our sources to make sure we didn't get anything wrong. It's called transparency.

Playing catch up. Again :p
YES OH MY GOODNESS YESS!
The inner child in me is screaming.

That new intro Remix is amazing.
One of the first sprite animations I ever watched. Alongside Smash and Bowser's Kingdoms.
Also I saw K Rool that alone has me interested.
I still have a lot of catch up to do on my Infinity character backlog.

Amiibo collecting kinda took time away from that due to stock. Disney can stock their figures much better than Nintendo can, so while I know I can always pick up Elsa, Donald Duck, or Falcon, that's not the case with someone like Marth. :/

Luckily my amiibo collection's winding down somewhat. I plan on getting Infinity 3.0 sometime soon.

Also I REALLY want one of the red spots to be Dhalsim but sadly I don't think he's making the cut.
Ah so I'm not alone on wanting him back.
No better way to move on then

Quality music

All Sonic had going for it at that time was music BioWare and you did THIS
When I think Central City I immediately look at Shadow and it be the one level I could never finish.
Speaking of Shadow here's some music from the game that really is underrated.

Im really considering getting into this Disney Infinity thing now that I've been looking at it.

I like how some of my favorite childhood characters can each be played and each have completely different gameplay mechanics and skills.

Like Stitch, Mickey, Spiderman, and now the Star Wars characters. Damn I wish I was a kid nowadays.

So how do I get into this? My brother has a Disney Infinity Base from the very first release. Can I plug that into my Xbox One and download the new Disney Infinity 3.0 and just go buy some figures? How does the whole thing work?

It's not on my to get list but I may pick up Disney infinity 3.0 at one point.
Now if Scrooge got in I would buy it in a second.
I had a dream where I was playing as Yoda in Smash Wii U. I dreamed of him two nights in a row.
It was weird. ._.
That Green spot isn't really for Frogger is it Blue.
Frogger is just a placeholder for your real Green smash rep.

Are we actually about to see a 4chan text leak come true?
Sorry for the late response, just woke up XD.
Anyways, that's not about the 4chan leak nor the NX Leak. This is about a mysterious job listing Nintendo put up about Mobile Game Development.
I said it was interesting because, I assume, it may tie in with the NX itself. But who really knows. Didn't mean to bring any misinformation!

I'm just finishing up the 2.0 lot before I endeavour into 3.0. I have about 6 figures left to get now. I thoroughly recommend the game to anyone who likes Disney, Marvel or Star Wars (or probably Indiana Jones or the Muppets). It's a really fun game. And with 3.0 allowing you to join up with players anonymously (whereas previously you had to be on the friends list to be able to play with others) it's going to really improve playability.

But you're going to need a new base to play on Xbox One. Even the Xbox 360 bases don't work with One. Your best bet if you're going to get into it, is to go and buy the 3.0 starter pack, which comes with a base, a playset and 2 figures.

It still saddens ne that Puff isn't good in Smash 4. It's good in Doubles because you get a lot of KOs with Rest, but in Singles it's just so depressing.
You obviously haven't faced a good Puff yet. They're annoying as heck with some stupid good aerial game.

I also had a dream for one moment that Sakurai couldn't get the rights to Snake, and they instead made him as a playable polygon fighter instead. He had no voice, but he had the exact same moveset and play style from Brawl.

I don't disagree with you. The harassment, threats, etc are really uncalled for. And they are definitely a much bigger problem. Even if I think Wu was being immature about her argument. No one here is upset over her wanting changes in gaming representation. I think a lot of us want that as well.
