I think it might have to do with just the nature of the games, maybe.

Like, tennis has been around forever. Great tennis stars come and go and they've been doing that for likely decades if not centuries (tennis started as one of those "leisurely sports that were actually combat practice" like fencing, right? I think?). Meanwhile Smash 4 is in its infancy by comparison, so if there's one single person dominating it when it's that young, it leaves a more bitter taste, since it seems like someone has already become unbeatable.

Just kinda spit-balling here, but it sounds decent enough.

I'm finishing up Mother 3 recently (Beat Earthopund a few months ago) and I hate this little ****. Even with what ends up happening, can't really have any sympathy towards him. He's just that annoying.

I've played EarthBound. Not sure if I want to play it again honestly.
Mainly because it emotionally scarred me.

Idk, there's alot this series has that brings on emotions. I laughed and also was confused my whole play through of Earthbound. When I beat it, I felt happy and the music also helped.

Mother 3 really brings it in with the story, and the gameplay is improved I would think. And as usual, the music is just fantastic. If you don't want to play it for that reason though, that's fine.

Have I mentioned the music is really good? Probably not a single track where I don't exactly like it or don't care for it. Here's a personal favorite from Mother 3.

I care way more about SMTxFE than Fire Emblem Fates (aka pay us extra money to be able to play both campaigns even though they're both on the same cartridge) and Project Boring Zone 2. (edit: note, if Project X Zone 2 actually doesn't get super boring like halfway through I might pick it up, but I kinda doubt it'll be THAT much better than the first one)

I still don't get the point of Fates honestly. They have two different versions of the game, but you can still choose which storyline you're following. It doesn't depend on which version you actually buy. And then you spend more money to be able to re-play the story from the other perspective because it locks that as soon as you make the choice...

In sports, you play by the rules, in Smash, you play by the law as games are designed in a way you can only do something, but in sports, you don't have to do this but it's frowned upon.
