Regarding Mii costumes, it would be interesting if they made a Ganondorf costume for Mii Sword Fighters.

Except it's not even about wanting the character here, but rather the concept in the fandom that an artist is going to limit himself because he said one thing in an interview once or twice.

Yes, it gives you a look into their mind, but it gives you a look into their mind at a certain point in time. Not necessarily their mind in present day.

Question? How many times have you seen say, I don't know an actor leave a franchise or TV show and say they just don't want to do it anymore and that they're creative venture is over there? Only for them to come back later. Yep. Happens a lot doesn't it?

How many times has a writer on a show or movie franchise backtracked or reverse something for a new version of the story? Brought back a dead character who at the time was killed because they had no ideas for that character at the time? Only to have more later. Happens quite a bit.

How many comic book retcons are there for the sake of a new take on something? How many times have you seen a celebrity say ''Never say never" when in reference to something they're writing/acting/or doing at that moment in time to keep the option open?

All artists are like this. We say one thing, but our minds are constantly turning and twisting and eventually what we said yesterday? It might no longer be relevant because we changed our minds.

Sakurai is 100 percent the same. He's not some exception to the rule.

Nintendo: CENTINEL-Suit and Wonder Mask(TW101)[All classes, color matches Mii's favorite, Swordfighter gets the Valiantium Blade and Gunner gets the Christine Daaé], Myrmidion Outfit[Swordfighter] and also Takamaru 'cause Samurai outfit[Swordfighter]
Capcom, Namco and SEGA: don't know don't care, more Mega Man and Monster Hunter costumes or smth
Others: EO Protector(Swordfighter), Alchemist(Gunner) and Gunner(...gunner)

No creative person sticks to the rules that much if the benefits of breaking said rules are greater than the benefits of sticking to them.

As someone who fancies themselves creative? I never would. I'd think hard about it, but I never would. And I've spoken to lots of different artists in different mediums who are very much the same.

Sakurai is an artist, by default we're born to break the rules, even the ones we've set if they're going to benefit something in the end.

And only Sakurai will known if he's willing to do that for SK and Shantae. And honestly considering how little he's said about third parties? It's kind of funny to be saying he's got a set of rules for them in the first place.

If Sakurai feels Smash will benefit from adding someone, no matter who they are? He's going to ****ing do it. No matter what he said a year, two years, three years ago or yesterday. People change their minds. Especially creative types.

I have read everything you've written, and all I have to say is- What benefits could SK and Shantae bring in the grand scale of thing that would justify Sakurai changing his mind at this point?

BGB is one of the guys that spammed Nintendo's twitter with "GIVE US THE BALLOT NOW **** YOU" etc. Dude's making himself look desperate due to that when the 1.1.2 update is just a simple bug patch. :/

Maybe I just have too much of a negative outlook for certain parts of the fandom now though.

Making it more inclusive? Representatives that show how close Nintendo is to the indie development community? Potentially unique movesets? Fun for their fans that voted for them? Shovel Knight is mostly sold on Nintendo platforms when it comes to consoles? Nintendo obviously cares about their relationship with both studios? Just a few completely honest and respectable things that Sakurai will or could think about?
