We already know we're not getting Karin, Urien and Alex. We might get one of them at launch, but as of now, we have 2 "Classic Characters you'd expect to see in a SF game" 1 "We haven't seen in a while" and 3 "Newcomers" as what's left of the launch roster. (unless Capcom lied of course, then again if it actually IS Cody we're getting... that kinda goes against that criteria they put out)
I totally forgot Birdie then. Well no matter how you slice it, Cody and the 3 other Sili leak chars can't be in the base game together.I found the one with Necalli, Vega, and R. Mika added:
Cody seems to fit right next to R. Mika, representing three Alpha 3 characters. Also funny thing to know is that Alpha 3 was my first Street Fighter game.
That leak is just fake as ever. My final predictions is that Cody, Zangief and Balrog (depending if the girl he adopted in SF4 doesn't become a fighter, if so the final possibilities are Sakura, Alex and Juri ) are the final veteran characters. And Akuma is a secret fighter
That Street Fighter II corner could be anyone and Guile really. So he could still be coming. Unless they've specifically said he's not in the base game.

It seems like we will get 2 more Classic Reps, to the right of Vega and in between Chun and Bison.
Here's the thing, Ono was all about wanting R. Mika in the back in the game since SF4.
why would they be among sf2 characters
I'm of the opinion that's not for SFII but for mainline SF. Next character makes or breaks a lot of things honestly.
But Capcom is saying "4 fighters we haven't seen in a while" in terms of Birdie, Nash, and R. Mika. So even though that really looks like Cody's Criminal Upper, that doesn't work with what Capcom is claiming because we saw him in the past game. Who else has tornado effects on their moves that we haven't seen in a while... or is a "classic" SF character? We should be discussing that.
I don't remember any other characters that use Wind, or tornadoes specifically for their abilities in Street Fighter. The closest thing I can think of is Dudley's Corkscrew Cross.
Never saw this one before, but... dang, this kid actually got quite a few things right - other than Ice Climbers, but we know they existed at some point, so it's very possible he did actually see what he's described.This will always. . . ALWAYS be my favorite leak

Pretty sure it was my first leak too so it was a fun introduction to the world of leaks.
Cody makes the most sense too, since they're all Alpha characters and it looks like Criminal Upper, but I'm going through the list of Alpha characters and movesets now to see if there's anything else that looks similar. A couple of Karin's moves have a bit of a "spiral" effect on them, but unless they added moves that actually are away from her that are twister-y, I doubt that.
There are only two characters from Alpha 3 who didn't make it into SFIV.
Also Juni and Juli but I doubt that'd be either of them. I'm going to say IF it's still someone we haven't seen in a while, it's probably Karin but she has some new moves (in all fairness a lot of people have new moves under their belts so it's possible someone got wind abilities haha)
Are those wants or predictions? You later said Q is a want, but the wording here and the context makes it seem like a prediction.
That's part of the reason why I think he has a good shot even if Siliconera's leak ends up being false.
Also, does Q count as a "Haven't seen in a while"? Do any of the Third Strike characters count since it was relatively recently re-released with online play? "Haven't seen in a while" seems to mean just that, they haven't been in a game in quite some time, but the re-release of 3rd Strike could mean the rest of that roster is out too (if Capcom was legit when they said that though)
I'm not sure it counts, as it's just a port with online play added. It could be counting only original titles.
Yeah, that's why I'm not sure. It would definitely make sense for it to be an Alpha character though, since the other 3 in that area are also Alpha... but someone we haven't seen in a while and is also Alpha. Literally the only thing I can figure is it's Karin with some moves added to her repertoire that might have more "twister" effects to them (or Sodom but I really doubt it's him...) Otherwise I got nothing. Unless that other person was lying and it is actually a newcomer with wind moves.
I had that thought too, but Capcom said "characters you'd expect in a Street Fighter game" didn't they? Do people expect Cody? I'm leaning more towards Guile and Blanka in terms of that.
EventHub's theory is that it is also Cody, but instead of appearing next to R. Mika he will be in the "Red" area. They seem to think that the 8 characters to the left isn't the "Street Fighter II Characters Zone" but just "Classic" characters in general.
My theory is that it is Guile and Cody in the red zone, with Eagle being in the blue zone.
