The new OP is officially done guys! Take a gander and watch how more beautiful it looks compared to the old one (as well as how long it took me to edit all of this. :laugh:). All that's left for me to do is add the support images that would link to our page and add a new supporter to the list (It's Turokman).

@ bksbestbwoy bksbestbwoy would have to fix that Kenshin gif since I've had issues getting it right. Also, I couldn't copy all of his support sigs with their links respectively (hence why I tried adding the links to them all manually and only one was allowed).

I wish if there was more art with transparencies added that I could have used. If anyone's good at that, it'd be nice to get that NintendoLand throwing star banner fixed up. I tried to keep the images thematic with the part of the OP that it'd correlate to but it's hard to find good fan art or art in general that doesn't use the Captain Rainbow look. lol

The Rurouni Kenshin gif should show up over time. Gfycat is weird about how it does gif images. There's a link there to a webm to a topical image for that part of the post so that should help a little. With that said, what say you all?[/quote]

I found gifs of the scene I was using initially in that Kenshin gif spot, but sadly it isn't one continuous playback. Instead it's a series of small instances in the same scene:







Edit: After looking at the OP, I feel like we need to ditch the centering on some text and just use it for lists like the music section and maybe the section titles and art. It might just be my ass tier monitor not keeping things organized but it's a bit jumbled, primarily where each new paragraph begins.

Guess you are reffering to the battoujutsu pose, is just that soujiro has this weird teleport thingy and people could confuse it.
Oh trust me, I'd be using gifcam a lot more often if my current PC weren't a hunking pile of crap prone to freezing on me. :(

I'd really like to fix this (I'm a bit of a perfectionist), but it's beyond me currently.

And yeah, it's just the pose and that badass sheathing animation he had right before the final draw in his fight with Kenshin during the last parts of the Shishio arc.

Oh don't you worry, I'm getting some ideas and replaying the game as we speak. It's a lot cheaper (as in unfair) than I remember, though it's been years since I've last beaten the game. I might be able to pass Aosame Jo tonight since I'm in the castle where I've last saved it. It's like elementary school all over again with this game. XD

I basically made all the changes to the post where I shared the "draft" with the thread. If you copy/paste that, it should work itself out (with the exception of still not having a good gif of the Kenshin scene for reference).

Moveset post above though is the most up-to-date version.

Hi! I've read in the RTC-thread that Taka uses laido. (And earlier in this thread as a lurker hehe)

But, what could that bring to SMASH, gameplay wise?
Would all of his sword attacks have minimal end and starting lag due to him drawing and putting the sword back super quick?

Probably. Iaido is unbelievably technical, and people train themselves for years in doing the motions as quickly and as precisely as possible.

It would also probably be powerful, since the sword is normally moving fast. However, the katana is significantly shorter than the European Longsword, so it would have mediocre range.

Changed my want score from 0 to 20 (R.O.B's Knight/Bishop/King essay) to 40 you and Cheezey Bites, to 70% (I actually like swordsmen)

From detractor to supporter in one day O.o

Well, that would help to balance my moveset concept. He's fast, strong, and has decent range, so I was thinking that his being light and a fairly large frame might not be enough to balance him. If he has to watch out for his own projectiles after he sends them out, there'd be significantly more strategy involved.

I've recently clear Ryokusame Castle, which should be good enough since I've got an overall idea of how Takamaru should play. His walking speed should be average, his jumping should be subpar (given the type of clothing that he wears), all of his attacks are fast with minimal lag on blade attacks due to having to resheath the blade, his Neutral Special will have to be the kunai with the incorporation of the 3 shogi pieces based on the charge, his Side Special will have to be his defensive counter that reflects projectiles (I would original have that in all of hi sword attacks, but that would seem pretty broken), Down Special will be temporary invisibility that not only makes you stronger but makes you slightly invincible (there should be a cooldown period after using this move), he will have an Up Special based on the Red Sandals that should compensate for his poor jumping, and lastly his Smashes with the addition of certain aerials and throws will be projectile based.

Also, @ WeirdChillFever WeirdChillFever could be added to the support list if he likes what he sees in the OP.

As for your first response, Sobreviviente has a moveset like that already and I'm trying to make mine's more unique compared to his's, Habanero's and Bks's moveset.

Both explanations can be added soon since this ought explains how the fighting style could work (I guess there were a few good things that came out of arguing last night :laugh:)

That last part, I'll definitely consider it since it played a huge part is clearing the five castles easily.
