No, the leaker said that she didn't know anything involving Comic-Con. She just said that the next Nintendo Direct would have a double reveal of Takamaru and Shulk that would happen at the beginning of August. Still pretty fake to me.

Well, there's no guarantee we're getting it for Wii U anytime soon. If you're itching to play it, then 3DS is the way to go. Not to mention the portability factor.

I can understand your decision, most console games just feel so much better when played on a console. Since I own both platforms, I'll buy the 3DS version to show some support for NIntendo. Maybe they'll think about localizing the Wii U port soon (if not hopefully not within another year) based on the sales that the game receive. Though localizing the Wii U VC first would have been a much smarter move for them to do, it's pretty understandable since the 3DS has a bigger install base for now.

I think a sequel will most likely be planned the next year, I think Nintendo wants to go off an soft start with the series before they plan on making one.

It's definitely setting up for something Louie G., this release just assures us Nintendo wants to do something with the Muramase Castle franchise, and if they want to do something with it, they will most likely make Takamaru playable to give him the center of attention.
