Here’s a question that I’m stuck on. If they ever do another Smash Ballot or something similar and we only get one vote, are you planning to vote for your absolute favorite character even if they’re not at all likely or would you narrow it down to characters you feel actually have a decent chance and vote for your favorite among those? I’m always kind of conflicted there because I feel like if I don’t vote for my favorite character, no one else will but that also kind of feels like throwing your vote away.
I'd have to vote for Waluigi :198:

Just out of curiosity, who is your favorite Smash announcer? I think mine may have to be Dean Harrington from Melee because of his distorted voice. His pronunciations are a little bit strange, but I think that kind of adds to the charm.

I also think he has the best laugh both as Master Hand and Crazy Hand. He also had the most blood-curdling death scream. I mean, just listen to it… God…

Also, Melee's sound design is underrated IMO
Call me basic but I'm a Xander Mobus truther

I also think the way he says "Ganondorf" so unenthusiastically is hilarious.

I bet he was probably in the studio like "Ganondorf? Am I saying that right?" "What do you mean you're using that take?!"

As for Shadow using guns in Smash, I do like the idea of it being something he could take out during a battle with limited ammo, but making it flow well is another story. It could maybe be part of his Final Smash(even if it's just throwing it away cause he doesn't need it) or his victory screens. Even Sonic 3 goes in with this factor. He'll use whatever it takes to win.

That said, in his own game, he actually cannot use his Chaos Powers in the story till he gets a Chaos Emerald. He lost his memories, and that's part of what outright reawakens them. It's just him using what is a method that simply is available and works to get through the areas. Besides that, it might seem odd his physical attacks are weaker, but he can't really apply his true power of he doesn't remember how to use it correctly.

It's not really a great way they went about it, or even a good excuse. It's just a silly gameplay mechanic(which actually is pretty fun to use). But the justifications are decent enough as an excuse plot in itself. The actual game plot is a lot better, though(albeit, the multiple story options make it a lot weirder, but there does seem to be somewhat of a fairly canon-like route).

I just think Shadow is most likely because you can easily build him off of Sonic.

Keep the homing attack and one of the spin dashes, give him Joker/Arsene's up B with the Doom Wing and a counter for down b and your good.

Actually the Doom Wing's just a glide. He does fly in some cutscenes so it's not completely out of the question, but in gameplay it's not anything like the Wings of Rebellion. I don't know where you got a counter from that, either; As far as I know Shadow doesn't have many counters. and either way theyre kinda overused at this point
Shadow is in the great position of being an incredibly iconic character who’s gotten a huge push recently while also being easy to make, considering they just have to tweak Sonic’s model and animations a bit.
And half of Sonic's animations are just the spinball so it's not like there's much to tweak in the first place :wario:

What does everyone think about Zero’s chances (from Mega Man X)? He’s shown he’s popular enough to earn both a Mii costume and an Assist Trophy and I think he’s got a ton of moveset potential. His only real downsides are that he hasn’t had much in the way of recent appearances in games to my knowledge and he’s got a lot of competition within Capcom. Of my top 10 most wanted, I feel like Zero is pretty far ahead in terms of likelihood.

Building off of Sonic's assets will totally make it easier to make his own moveset totally have less
🔵🔵🔵🔵🔵 as well. Totally.

...you know, they were fine with replacing Wolf's nair with a generic sex kick, wonder if they think the same about Sonic just to make his moveset be less like that.

His best advantage is if they find him pretty easy to make, considering all the sword animations they've made over the years. Zero's AT already seems like it's supposed to be a hybrid of Cloud and Roy anyway.

I hope the Switch ends up with literally every Donkey Kong game except a new one
That's pretty much a given at this point. Most franchises were served well by the Switch; DK just happened to be one of the few that just wasn't so lucky. Every notable DK release ending up on there in some fashion would be some comfort.

He also caused the creation of this gem

But personally, I do think Pat Cashman really nailed it when it comes to the announcer, but the Melee Hands are so good.

Xander is also good but we had two games in a row and he's pretty identical in both of them. It's time we got a new voice tbh.
