Now that I strongly believe the leak, I'm holding on to more characters being in existence, just not shown.

I'm pleasantly surprised by Duck Hunt Dog, though, but that's about it. Personally, I can't stand Shulk as a character, and the way the videos conveyed him, he only looked like a mish-mosh of other characters' movesets anyway. Then there's Doctor Mario and Dark Pit, two more clones, Lucas, Wolf, Ice Climbers, and Snake being cut, and no Chibi Robo, Golden Sun, or Custom Robo representation, playable-wise. I feel like this roster is a matter of quantity over quality, honestly.

I'll still play this game, but I do have to state, I am rather disappointed in the finalized roster itself.

Now as for my rebbutal: Yes, Isaac could've utilized the sword/magic dynamic, but sakurai gave it to robin instead, simply because he was thinking about FE and not GS. Isaac had that potential first and, even if implemented, would function vastly different from Robin. Just look at Lucina.
The 'has a fanbase' argument doesn't hold much water here, I'd say, as every character has some form of following. I can understand 'Dorf still being a clone if they were pressed for time, but that seems unlikely. Dr. Mario on the other hand litterally feels like a last minute melee port given sakurai's stance on slight differences justifying a roster spot.
Your last statement is also one of my biggest gripes with the development of the game. Yes, popularity should factor in to some degree, but when the mario series gets 'filler' characters like rosalina and a half-***** bowser jr. simply because they're popular, that's when disappointment sets in. Compared to GS, of course DHD is more popular. Isaac possessed the moveset, he was just overshadowed by 'popular' characters.

That's my point. He HAD the moveset, but someone viewed as more popular got the spot. And Rosalina looks kinda interesting...Listen, I don't care either way. Robin confirmed? Cool. If Isaac was confirmed, I would have been the same way.

Um, yeah I've tried all Fire Emblem characters I could and you've missed my point. Marth Roy and Lucina all have the same moveset, they're clones, but different characters. Mario and Dr. Mario have the same moveset AND they're the same character. Therefore: I don't think Mario with a white coat deserves his own slot. I dunno, maybe they made him more different so he can be more relatable to Zelda and Shiek or Samus and Zamus, but if Dr. Mario is just like how he was in Melee I'll be pretty dissapointed. Maybe he'll have a new Down-B?

How do you figure that? The pills have different angle and bounce properties. Marios left and right air attacks will hit the opponent down while Dr. Mario's will hit them in an upward angle. Their cape speed is different as well as recovery time, getting hit with mario's down B is easier to DI out of while Dr. Mario's down B is harder to DI out of from hit stun. I could go on and on but you get my point I'm trying to make. If Dr. Mario is a perfect clone of Mario with different colors then so is Lucina, Marth, Roy, Ike by your logic.

Ah well, I'm convinced that this isn't all. Still, I'm really disappointed by...
- Ganondorf being Falcondorf yet again with no apparent improvements. Aren't the characters supposed to be faithful to their native series and not have knockoff movesets that don't make sense?
- Shulk appearing to share Marth's moves. I'm hoping there's more, but oh man, knowing what they could've done with him...
- Wolf, Lucas, and Snake gone. I was completely expecting Snake to go and kinda expecting Lucas to go, but it still hurts...
- THE STAGES. Oh my gosh, the horrendous stages deserve their own rant. Glaring Mario overrepresentation, returning stages blow (Mushroomy Kingdom? WTF!?), most new stages are underwhelming... that's the short version of my rant here, but... ugh.

I know I'm gonna enjoy the game anyway, but at this point, hope of improved gameplay/balance and the hope that Samus and Captain Falcon are improving are the only things retaining my hype.

Well, it's 99.99999999999% real. Ah well! It looks pretty nice:

• Bowser Jr., Duck Hunt Dog, and Shulk? YASSSSSS
• I like Dr. Mario and I'll be okay with Dark Pit, so no harm.
• DLC (right?) is hopefully happening, which means IC and Lucas hopefully.

What I DON'T like, however:

• Horrendous stage choices
• Falcondorf
• No Ice Climbers or Lucas

Who knows, though? Maybe DLC will take care of characters and stages. And maybe Ganondorf is a character with different custom moves. Overall, I'll admit: I didn't like the leak, but I'll be fine with it!

Sir, Dr. Mario IS MARIO. They are not different characters, they are literally the same person. Lucina, Marth and Ike are all extremely unique characters from a franchise that still is not as beloved as it should be. Clearly you have never played ANY fire emblem game in your life so I would appreciate it if you would not insult a franchise I love by calling these characters "lol Marth x 3 if Dr. mario is just Mario with different colors"

I'm not going to argue about the clone stuff because yes, Dr. Mario is a clone of Mario just as Dark Pit is a clone of Pit, Toon Link is a clone of Link and Lucina is a clone of Marth in this game. Dr. Mario, on the other hand, isn't JUST a clone, he is LITERALLY THE SAME PERSON AS MARIO. Would you really be happy with a game that has Mario x3 (Cause Luigi is just Mario recolored like Lucina right? Lol).

I'm sorry I got angry. I just really love fire emblem and don't appreciate you knocking a game you clearly haven't bothered to play.

It had some relatively blurry footage showing Shulk and Bowser Jr. in some fights. One of my friends said this would be easy enough to make in a brawl hack though, and I do trust him. So really nothing has changed, though the video footage following on the wings of several more pictures has convinced a lot of people.

I'm just hoping spectator mode is real.
