Hey guys, thanks for checking out my threat. So as stated in the title I'm a competitive PC gamer and an all time SSB fan. I never played SSB at a competitive level, though I consider myself pretty good for a casual (only got 1 friend that can compete with me who plays a lot as well). So here comes my problem, I have a huge bet running that I'll win against him. We will play in a bit more then 3 months AND I CANNOT LOSE THIS. He won an intense SSBM match against me and I always have to admit that he is the better player of us. This cannot happen for Brawl as well.

So coming from a competitive background, I read a lot of theory craft (pretty much any there is) about SSBB, the characters I want to play and matchups I might run into, but I still need a lot of help.
I thought it would be great if someone would agree to teach me and to practice with me. The only thing I can offer is eternal gratitude and the promise of 100% commitment from my side. That and lessons in Starcraft 2 or League of Legends if you are interested in that :p (I'm Master in SC2 and Diamond 1 in LoL).

My skype-id is: fabio9131

Extra information:
In the case I don't get any volunteers I just wanna ask some things right away to get at least something out of this.
I've always played Samus until SSBB, but considering how weak she has become I shun away from her. My second choice was Snake for several reasons. First he seems to be the same "class" like Samus (In terms of weight and having projectile game) and obviously he is rather high rated in general. I don't want to rely too much on the tier list though since we're both not playing on a level where it is accurate and I'm not sure how good we will become until then.
The problem is that I recently fell in love with Zero Suit Samus. I have tons of fun playing her and always feel like falling to sleep when I go back to snake. Being so light and so easy to KO while lacking really easy KO moves (compared to Snake) makes me think that she would be the worse choice..

As far as I know my friend he will most likely play Fox or Wolf, maybe even Toon Link or Lucario.

I'm grateful for any advice =)

Hey there. If you prefer ZSS, then you should definitely play her instead. Tier list isn't everything, especially at a non-competitive level. According to your Lolking, you're in Europe, so playing over Wi-Fi would be problematic, though if you record replays of yourself, I'd be happy to look over them. A couple tips: Don't force the kill; just rack up damage until you get a kill opportunity, also, your side b is your best kill move, and when you downsmash, you can downsmash them again while they're stunned.

Being the most hated
Go Metaknight, press the B button, occasionally down on the c-stick. Unless your friend is a tournament level competitive player you're guaranteed to win.

You can also give a read to some matchup summaries. You should be able to find them easily, we have hundreds of them.
CPUs are fine as training partners in case you fail to find players in your area, but they have a very predictable IA. Make sure you do not fall into patterns : in Brawl, every hit is a reset, and every input is a guess. Not a single pattern is safe. If you are predictable, you lose, simple as that.

If you're read and watched everything above, you should be ready for competitive Brawl.

All the theory is good to know, but the most important part would be to practice religiously before the big day. Watch a couple of videos, play some CPUs/Wifi, read a couple of threads, play some more CPUs/Wifi, etc. Take something out of your study time and just take time to practice it in game. You seem to favor ZSS so I'd say to just focus on her since you're working with a deadline. I think picking somebody you're more comfortable with is more important at the moment than picking somebody higher in the tier list.

Thank you for your advice so far, I now feel assured to take ZSS. I've read any theory and watched all ZSS VOD's on youtube already though, but sadly there were no ZSS vs Wolf matches that I recall, can someone tell me a bit about that matchup?

We overlooked him too, actually.
And then, he came back home with our money.
