New Technique: Running Turnaround Up-Smash

I'm not actually sure if this is a new technique, but it is interesting, and I have yet to see anyone do it besides me.

Everyone knows you can pivot an up smash, but did you know that if you run, shine, turn around in the shine, and the up smash out of the shine, you can run forever and still turn around up smash. It's pretty hard to do quickly (so that the shine is barely noticeable), but it works and looks pretty darn sweet if you ask me.

So clearly it's not exactly as useful as waveshining, but it isn't worthless either. Well, actually, I'm hoping people might be able to come up with some uses, cause the only ones I can come up with are really situational, or will likely not work.

if you're playing teams, and your two opponents are next to each other, I guess you could run between them and shine the one on the left, then up smash the one on the right, or vice-versa.

anything involving a jump can be done out of a shine or turn-around shine

I saw this in a european Fox/Falco combo video. Kjab was in it. The fox techchased with shine-turnaround charge usmash.

I do those turnarounds all the time with jc grabs. Like FJ Bair and if they shield turnaround shine jc grab.

This is hard to do effectively, because if you run past the person, the momentum from the dash causes you to slide further along the ground during the dash-cancelled shine (and thus past your target). But with enough practice I could see this being viable. It could be a mindgame, at the very least. Or a clever way to avoid being shield-grabbed.

Shine turnaround jc usmash doesn't seem particularly useful, but shine turnaround jc grab is definitely applicable.

Yeah, this is actually quite old. I think it popped up in unisen with the whole shine>usmash fad.
