I don't think the nails' that are on the end of Genesect's arms are flexible. So it's pretty much limited to using its teeth to grab items.

I just think it's funny that you seem think developers thought processes would transcend our own. They're people too. Sakurai is not free from subjectivity.

Yes, but I guarantee you their opinions are balanced by other factors too. Which makes it nigh impossible to truly say which direction they will choose. You have a point about subjectivity, if that were not the case Roy would never have been in (among a myriad of other things). That, however, is the point. Instead of getting so worked up all the time we should all just chill.

Sonic isn't going anywhere. That loses millions of dollars for Nintendo and SEGA. Unless both companies want to go under, they are keeping Sonic in smash as free hype for Nintendo, and free advertisement for Sonic. Snake got in because Kojima is his friend, and that ain't changing. Plus Snake is one of the most popular Brawl newcomers.

Also, Sakurai has a love jones for Ness and Lucas, and they are 3 moves away from being completely different. Really, Ness and Lucas are more unlike each other than any two characters in Smash 64, easily. If you ask me, Lucas is a much better "clone" than any other smash bros character, ever, and is easily the most original. That's why I still refer to him as a semi-clone.

As for Lucario, I think he could be cut, but it isn't overwhelmingly likely.

I think Wolf is the most likely to be cut, if anyone. Judging by his data, he was the 2nd last added character, and has the least data.

If it was up to me to to cut 1 character, it would be Pit, hands down. I hate his Brawl move set, and Pit players are all either campers, stallers, or run away all day.

Edit: I like all 3 options (Victini, Zoroark, and Genesect), but I think Victini would be the best smash bros character. My 2 cents 18 trillion dollars (of government debt).

Out of the two I would guess Sonic has a better chance of staying than Snake. However, Sakurai mentioned that he did not think more than one or two guest characters should be in a Smash game.

Of course that was during Brawl. Sakurai has since complained about how Nintendo hasn't made new characters. Will he use guest characters for more slots as a result?

In any case, I do not think that one can assume that Sonic and Snake are shoe-ins if Sakurai wants to add other guest characters. Too many factors at play.

Best third party choice that would cause the least drama and the best surprise would be Tetris. A stage would still be so very cool. If they would allow Sakurai to use two songs I cannot see how a stage would hurt?

I have my doubts about Victini, to be honest. It's just a a gut feeling really, but, I honestly don't think he's going to be a contender. It's going to be Zoroark, and whatever Pokemon late 2012 - 2013 is being promoted. Which, COULD be Genesect. It's a safe bet SHOE IN for Zoroark though, if Meloetta is the Pokemon of 2013. Buuut, I don't think she will be. Has that stupid horse been revealed yet?

It's completely possible. SEGA's affairs and Konami's affairs aren't in unison because they're both third parties, adding Snake and Sonic are completely separate deals, with separate relationships. There's a million reasons why Sonic may get in without Snake, or vice versa.

Well, since it's going to be a different game with different mechanics from what we can guess, I don't see why we should use tiers from brawl as a basis for character importance in smash 4
