I am definitely getting the same feeling that I did when I pieced together Brawl's roster from the "prophets". I can't shake it. I don't like it that Punch-Out would get two characters, that Star Fox gets four characters before DK or Kirby, that Mario has less characters than Zelda and Pokemon, that F-Zero is still stuck with one character, and that Zoroark got preference over Mewtwo. The good news is that since Mewtwo, Roy, and Dixie Kong probably already have their moves mapped out during Brawl that Sakurai could probably implement them late during development if there was a strong enough demand.

I mean, it is obviously fake, and the King Hippo "concept art" proved that, but what makes it so interesting is that all of the picks are plausible enough to actually make it into Smash, with some choices that are so WTF that it would be hard to think of a fan who would actually add them. Like I knew the real roster was real for Brawl when it was leaked because ROB was sich a fail choice, no FAN would actually include him.

If I remember correctly, I believe in the NP Ridley article, Sakurai said that he uses action figures instead of art in order to help design the characters.

As soon as Sakurai posted that he finally started developing Sm4sh back in Feb, that told me that the Universe thing is obviously fake. Besides, listing four 3rd party characters on their "leak" seems to be jumping the gun too far ahead.

King Hippo and Prince Sabure are the two that make the least sense. Punch-Out is a series that has nearly all of its popularity in the West and in the West, almost no one wants a second playable character from that series. Prince Sabure also is bizarre because his design is extremely similar to that of a Fire Emblem character, and I have seen more requests for Takamaru, Lip, and Sukapon than him.

It was released at the same time as the Zoroark art, as well as the Tingle and Toad "rejected" art. Apparently, no one bothered to save them, and no they are lost to time.

It's also funny that some one would believe Sakurai would ask a designer to draw Toad and Tingle, just so he could red stamp them. Like he had to see some one draw them just to make his decision. You make those kinds of decisions BEFORE someone has to do any work on them.

That is the thing. I have never seen this done for any other game ever. No one puts this much effort into fake documents for a game that is not even announced.

I couldn't agree more because 2-3 seems more reasonable for all of us.

I'm not saying four 3rd party characters in not out of the realm of possibility but Sakurai should have already had gotten permission from Square Enix, Capcom, SEGA (again), and Level-5 if he wanted to already put them on a list of characters he was planning. But, again, him saying he officially started on development in February (the Universe thing came out in 2011) tells me that he didn't have any plans yet for Sm4sh until very recently. Don't forget most of the time since June '11 Sakurai said he hasn't made any major plans or progress on Sm4sh since he didn't want to be distracted while working on Kid Icarus: Uprising.

So, again, I don't believe in the Universe thing but we may never know how many 3rd party characters will be in the game (4 sounds like it COULD be possible if Sakruai actually tried.)

Looks like Kid Icarus is beginning to develop a meta-game community now.

Also, Nintendo has been doing a really good job advertising this game. I swear there is a Kid Icarus commercial on ESPN every hour. Nintendo is being smart by advertising through the NCAA basketball games, since March Madness is going on and everything. Kid Icarus: Uprising is going to be this generations Star Fox 64.

The images were taken down by the person who put them up, and since no one saved them, there is no way to see them again. The other documents up until the release of the King Hippo, Zoroark, Toad, and Tingle artwork were saved by other sources.

BTW, I just found out that the Japanese get the Uprising OST as a part of Club Nintendo. I'm so jealous.
