I have a feeling that Sakurai isn't going to give the majority of the fans what they're asking for, and that's giving Ganondorf his own moveset involving his sword. Instead, he'll cut Ganondorf and replace him with Ghirahim. Also, Zelda will be toned down to the point where she can't transform into Sheik, and the 4th slot will go to Impa, who'll have Sheik's old moveset. So, in essence, an all Skyward Sword cast.

It's just a feeling, but considering that Nintendo likes to keeps their characters up-to-date, this feeling's going to haunt me until it's proven otherwise.

Ganondorf will not change much. Just like, as tweaked as Brawl made him, IF THAT. Impa will not get in the game. Zelda and Sheik will PROBABLY NOT be pulled apart. (Even if that would make them better individual characters)

Black Shadow is sort of a weird character. More of a villain, but like, so little support. I wonder if Andross would have gotten in over Wolf if he was A BODIED CHARACTER?

I honestly don't know what to think of Black Shadow. I don't expect anything to come out of him though.

@Star, This place holds no substance, and if people can't see that, they shouldn't be on the internet. Nothing that happens here matters, at least on SWF anyways.

And Ganondorf could appear in another game. Honestly, I think they're more likely to keep him in with a WW design first than scrap him, regardless of moveset. Or keep the TP or OOT design. I don't see the main villain getting completely scrapped. Not that I would mind Ganon with his Trident.

No. Sakurai isn't stupid. Ganondorf will never be removed.. Impa is not happening and Sheik will never be removed. You don't have to be a hippie to know this.

Lastly, characters will obviously be up-to-date HOWEVER, it will not result to making such silly cuts and decisions that will disappoint the fans. What has happened to all the positive-ness in this thread? Pessimism is starting to get really annoying. Is this all because of this so called "Disappointment" after Brawl? The irony there is that Brawl's roster was perfect. You can say though that Melee has done every aspect much better than brawl but you can't say that Brawl sucked.

Sakurai may be mysterious but he has his reasons and they're pretty damn reasonable.

Welcome to the internet. It is that kind of anonymity that makes me not give two flying hells what people think online. They can state their opinions, and that's that. They insult me, big deal. They know me not from a hole in a wall, so who are they to me? When going into the internet, you can bring anything with you with the exception of one thing; emotion. As sad as that is, you're most likely right, unless they go with that level-up idea I posted, where characters can customize their B moves with moves they learn via level-up in the 3DS version... or something.

Personally, I don't mind Ganondorf at all. Actually, I like Brawldorf. What they should have done was change his hitboxes, and gave his move more priority, less landing lag, and give his Up B larger knockback... among other things.

To be honest, I only see Roy and Young Link returning. I still believe the pattern I talked about earlier will be kept. Honestly, returning another Pokemon when there's more than 400 choices seems silly unless everyone returns. I don't see a point in treating one more special than another. The only returns I see that'll come back is the O12. Young Link will only return if Majora's Mask is released last before SSB4. Atleast, that's what I think is the criteria and most likely scenario.

I see Ike getting replaced by Chrome/New Fire Emblem Lord. I see PT maybe getting a 3rd Gen revamp. I could see Charizard also returning, and Zoroark/Victini/Genesect entering the fray.

I don't see really any other series being affected in cuts. Pokemon and Fire Emblem are the only ones ever affected by relevance, where Dr. Mario was cut because he really didn't need to be more than a costume, since he literally is Mario. He also got technically replaced(by that, I mean slots with clearly related characters) with Wario. Where Roy was with Ike, and you can choose which theory you want with Pokemon. I believe Mewtwo went out for PT(1st Gen), where Pichu with Lucario(latest Gen)

Oh, I want to change the most important element of Smash. THE FREEZIE: While an opponent is frozen, they can be picked up and thrown like a barrel or crate. When thrown against a surface, the ice will shatter and the opponent will receive lots of damage.

On topic. I'm mostly against any cuts to the Brawl roster. To be honest, I don't see the point. The 35 characters that made it in all had merit, unlike many of the cuts in Melee. Toon Link was a great idea. Wolf certainly is important enough to be included. Lucario is the mascot of an entire generation of Pokemon not to mention, utilized an interesting mechanic that Mewtwo did not. Ike may have been the FOTM, but at least he is unique and popular among Smash fans. I wish Lucas wasn't a cheap knockoff(like I wish about TL and Wolf too), but in the end, he is an appropriate final rep to round out the Mother franchise.

I understand that people are all for cuts so that franchises that don't necessarily merit any new slots can get new characters. However, I really don't see this as an issue. If Sakurai thinks Krystal is interesting and popular enough, there's no reason not to have 4 SF characters. Chrome/Crom/WhoeverTheNew****ingGenericBlueHairedFEHeroIs can easily coexist with Ike. I see no reason why Mewtwo can't be alongside Lucario. If the WiiU is really that powerful, he gets a team that's that huge, and takes all the time he needs like they've been saying, the roster COULD be pretty big. And if not, the Brawl roster was a lot less half ***** than the Melee roster, so there aren't any frivolous, trivial characters that can easily be cut this time around.

It depends the franchise. Also, Pichu was cut, despite repping the entire second gen. Only thing we got from him was a trophy, stickers, and some of his costumes. He also was not amongst the planned characters. Yes, Sakurai was clearly willing to cut an entire representation of a part of a series. He shouldn't have, but he did.

So yes, Ike leaving is not exactly odd at all. I also see him as one of the likely choices for cuts, if any.

Do you mean giant in the Super Mushroom sense or in the large sense? Cuz I've used Chomp successfully on Bowser before.

Yes I meant to say that Wario's Chomp is useless against characters who grabbed a Super Mushroom, unless Wario grabs a Super Mushroom as well.

Likewise, the Poltergust 3000 would not be able to grab Super Mushroom boosted characters either, unless Luigi also has a Super Mushroom boost.

I only used the term "giant", because that's what the results are when you grab a Super Mushroom.
