If it's a playable character, Wario's Bite will work. If you're thinking about characters like Giga Bowser, then it would make sense considering it's Bowser's Final Smash, so giving him immunities to grabs of any kind would be in order. I don't see why Poltergust would be any different than Kirby's Inhale, or Wario's Chomp.

Or introduce the leaf as an item which grants characters a Tanooki tail and ears. I mean, they can have the full on body suit, but I imagine that would mean creating another character model to accommodate that, no?

The vacuum could work as a grab for Luigi I suppose. How could the elements be incorporated? Each direction uses a different element?

The problem would come from characters that already have tails/ears. And I guess capes would get in the way of tails too. I MEAN, it can be worked around, but I doubt they'd take that much effort.
Oops, sorry Lol I meant the Rabbit Hood. I could also add the badges to that equation, too, I suppose.
Huh, I didn't even think of that, but as you say, something could be worked around without much effort. Still, I would wonder how'd they fix Pikachu or Fox with the Tanooki tail (let alone ears).

OR the game could finally add tech grabs to Smash instead of this bizarre input to get out of grabs.
Ahh, I don't really see the Tanooki leaf granting faster speed and higher jumps. Instead, I see it as making the character's standard A a tail swipe, while giving them the ability to slowly hover down by rapidly tapping the jump button.

Yeah, you asked how to get the enitre suit in. So, I refered to just the tail and ears, which can be an equippable item, like the rabbit hood (Why am I calling it a rabbit hood? It's Bunny Hood

That reminds me of an idea I thought would be great. I'm sure I mentioned this some time before, but why not custom colors? Imagine coloring certain parts of a character to really give them that uniqueness. Sakurai mentioned he wanted the game (the 3DS version, more specifically) to be a more personal experience with characters. There's no better way to personalize than altering a character's color to match your taste, and show what it is one likes.
Basically, a tech grab is when two people grab at the same time. The characters then bounce away from each other at stalemate. This is a staple in fighting games, and, as I've said before, I'm baffled that it was never included in past Smash games. Of all the defensive stuff they've put into Brawl, they forgot the most basic one.
Ooo I forgot that, I'll have to add it to my now, nerfed moveset.
Gotta admit that's a rather good idea, and an elementary one at that.
Finally someone suggests Luigi use his Poltergust as a grab attack. I think it would have more unique potential as a grab ability than a Down-B, and it replaces not one, but several moves that Luigi still shares with Mario.

Alternatively, he could switch between modes using Down B or something. That'd be neat. OR using Down B would fire off an Ice/Fire/Water attack. Similar to FLUDD, and his Air Down A could be his Cyclone.@HF That can work! But I'd miss Weegee's karate chop thing. WAAA WAAAA
