Everyone probably knows this already, but MIYAMOTO IS RETIRING!(Sort of). He is actually going to go back into making games directly, he won't be a supervisor anymore. I guess that's a good thing. He can do something useful with his talents!

So I'mma repost this to see what y'all think. :p

My idea for customizable characters:
When you make a customizable character, you get to choose a body type(Kirby, Mario, Pikachu, etc.). You then get to choose body attributes(like MK's wings on a Pikachu body type). Then you get to customize their appearance with articles of clothing from various games(like Kirby's Fighter headband and the customizable items from Pokémon Battle Revolution). Once that's done, you give them specials that are taken from the character move pool. Melee attacks are based on body type. Then you can name them. Voila! You can now play as your character.

Narrator calls out name of body type on victory screen. Clothing can be unlocked.

@Poppy: I love it. Your color will be the same as your player color. Like, Red, Yellow, Blue, Green, equated to your controller slot.

I think costumizable characters would RUIN it, personally, no offense. It'd be everyone using chimerical characters to fight instead of the original Nintendo characters. The idea of having customization in a move-pool combination to alternate what a character can do (with only moves that are their own to choose from) would keep the sanctity of brawl in tact but allow for adversity and a new promising trait for the series.

I made a post a few pages back but no one seemed to give any feedback so I'll try again.. What if it was a customizable Primid from the SSE, they've already proven that they are capable of having different abilities, and you would be able to customize it to your own playstyle (while using the sticker system to work out stats such as speed, str, etc) It would essentially be giving SSB series it's own rep so to speak, it would eliminate the need for Mii's as customizable ( though I'm not really against that either anyway). What do ya'll think? Yay, Ney?

@Yani: Depends if the Primids return. Could work. I honestly think that you should be able to choose the Polygons, Wire Frames, Alloys, and Primids for body type choices. Even if some are redundant, it makes them look cooler because of size.

I think the only thing that will be customizable character wise is the attributes. But then I could be wrong.

That sounds much more interesting then Mii's (although if we get character customization full blown, that's probably it)

By your logic, this should have stopped Sheik from joining Melee since she was "fading" and that at the time, Oracles and Majora's Mask were already released after Ocarina of Time (by then, it was three years since it was released). Skyward Sword will only be three years old by the time SSB4 is released and we don't know if we'll have a new major Zelda game by then (and if not, then most of the contents will draw from Skyward Sword).

@HF I have a feeling they'll return because I don't think Sakurai will scrap the SSE type of mode, just my guess though. I think the poly/wire/alloy idea would be a cool concept as well

@Yani: Nor do I, the mode that is. I think he might do better on the enemy diversity, letting the Alloys and Primids die along with the rest of the original mooks.

Let's pray to Cthulhu that Sakurai let's the Primids along with everything related to that epic failure of a "story mode" die and chalk it off as an experiment that went horribly, HORRIBLY wrong. One can only hope that he learned from a majority of the players that the resources should be diverted to more characters/stages/etc. instead of stupid and pointless modes that people will never touch a week after the game's release.

I despised the SSE, but I've been playing it the past few days to try and collect the trophies of the enemies, it honestly isn't as bad as I made it out to be, but it definitely needs a major revamp.. please no great maze.....
My main disappointment was the bad physics and the enemies. Same with genericness in general. It wasn't terrible by any means, just not GREAT either. Likewise, I use it as a good source of trophies, since they're ridiculously hard to get as is. Even in the Coin Launcher! :mad:

Does anyone remember that TROPHY CATCHING game in Melee? Maybe a variation of THAT should return and take the place of the Coin Launcher.

I doubt that appearing before Zelda in the Melee trailer meant anything like that... that's probably just how it turned out. I also doubt that Sheik was a priority to Zelda, the namesake of the series.

The reason Sheik made the cut as a one-shot was because she added a different flavor to Zelda's character with the whole transformation concept, something that had never been done before and made the characters unique. Ghirahim doesn't stand much of a chance at this point because he's a one-shot as far as we know, and honestly, he hasn't taken off in terms of popularity.

I assumed it was made like that for shock factor and the surprise of the zelda/ sheik relationship

Yeah I totally agree with this (Except the coin launcher. It wasn't hard, just annoying). I think if they made the trophy catching a little more user friendly it would have been fun. As for story mode I would love to see it more like a merging of the Nintendo worlds. It doesn't have to be logical but it would be more interesting when you're fighting Mario against Space pirates or Samus blowing up pokemon.

I'd like if the adventure mode felt like a legitimate platformer.

It felt completely half*ssed in Brawl...

I don't care if they just try and use their own story, even if it sucked. They changed the character physics in it anyway, why not change it to something good? More like the Mario games would be ideal, but even the kirby games which Smash is based on would be good.

They way they moved, the way you interact with them, it just didn't feel right. They were just thrown at you at random

Once I learn Japanese I can look cool and say things people don't know too! :D

Also, I don't think there should really be much of a story-mode, and if there is make it veeeerryyy basic and short. Subspace was boring and long, and the last maze had me staying up all night to complete it, argh...

SSB is a fighting game, they should put almost all of their focus making that experience as pleasing and expansive as possible.
