That's a dumb reason.a common trend is to do neutrals only
yeah me too. is it still up for debate among smash rule people? lolI thought p4 rules were the new standard ruleset
the idea is that since its a mm, its more of a test to see whos better, for money. lets see who can win more times without having to resort to gay **** (e.g. corneria). you can argue a lot of things, like marth is only good on neutrals, but it doesnt really matter since there is no enforced ruleset for a mm. 2 people can do whatever they want. so if hey want to use tourney rules they will. That's a dumb reason.
How is that different from tournament?the idea is that since its a mm, its more of a test to see whos better, for money.
Of course 2 people can do whatever they agree to (this is true in tournaments also), I'm just questioning the reasoning for using that ruleset. "Because that's the tradition" is not a good reason.2 people can do whatever they want. so if hey want to use tourney rules they will.
often, mm's are decided with fixed characters. its kind of a way to gauge how good my 'x' is, if it can beat your 'y' straight up. i think neutrals only adds to this. like in tournament you could take me to a gay stage on a gay counterpick and i would have to work my *** off for a win, but thats stacking it in your favor. arbitrarily, lets see if my 'x' is better than your 'y' on the fairest of stages. How is that different from tournament?
