Hello, I've just started playing with MetaKnight a few days ago and realized that I'm not nearly as good with MK as I should be, I'm lacking in techs and I need ways to counter other players. If possible, show me some good guides on MK, I've started reading MetaKnight behind the cape and the infinite dimensional cape tech. any other good guides would be greatly appreciated.

You actually need help playing as MK? That's unusual (for real).

I'll give you a really short guide.

Fair/bair is your spacing tool. You should dash up to where fair/bair reaches and...fair/bair lol

Dair camping is when you dair from a shorthop or full hop fair/dair, and do from 1 to 5 more dairs while airjumping (I do 2 more), then tornado. Move your tornado away if it isn't safe to keep it there. So the technique goes like this: fair/dair, dair(s), nado.

So dair or fair/bair are your two approaches and they work excellent (walking dtilt is nice too, you can't just do two things)

You can perform aerials on airborne opponents. Fair/bair work, but if they're above you, airjumping into uair, uair, fair/bair/upB works nice (I personally don't like the last hit to be an upB since I save it for KOs).

Falling opponents trying to fall back onto the stage are easy targets for a tornado. Catch them with the sides of the nado, not with your face.

Opponents that are trying to recover...aerial them, upB them, edgehog, wait for them, whatever, you'll get used to it. As for your recovery, glide, tornado and drill rush work.

dtilt to fair is safer, but dtilt to dashgrab is cool, and it works if you tripped your opponent. Grabbing someone and getting them to the edge means grab release/fthrow to EDGEGUARD TIME!! Grab release to dtilt/offstage dair to more aerials or a shuttle loop works excelent.

If I'm missing anything, you'll figure it out.

Why is that unusual? Just because Meta Knight is easy to use does not mean he is easy to win with, especially at higher levels of play. Most Meta Knight mains are bad, actually. I say help should always be welcome, whoever you wish to play and regardless of your skill level.

Off-topic, but I'm pretty sure it's been tested to work.

MK doesn't have any real ATs that you need to practice. Glide attack cancelling your glide helps a lot, but it's not exactly hard. Since most of the skill in playing MK simply comes from playing him in a smart manner, I'd say the best things to do would be to read a MK guide (the new one is pretty good) and watch a whole bunch of pro videos.

Read Victory is my Destiny. That should help you a lot. I agree with a lot of he says (which doesn't mean too much coming from someone with only 40ish posts =\ ). Anyways, the author of that guide sure knows what he's talking about, and I'd be willing to bet that many people here on these boards would agree.

Here's a link to the guide, in case you're as lazy as I am >.< :
