This tournament/smashfest is open to all. We are hoping for a large turnout. Housing can be provided just let us know in advance.

We need full set ups like crazy so if anyone can bring theirs it would be great. I will update as I get information on who is coming and who is bringing what. Hope to see alot of people there

RULES
The RULES for the tournament are standard MLG rules. Pretty much everyone here should know them by now. No items, 4 stock, both players may ban one stage each if they both wish to.

This tournament is double elimintion.

First stage is random, loser of first match chooses next stage and winner (if they choose to) must pick their character for the next round first.

Double blind picks at the start is allowed.

Best out of 3. Winners, Losers, and Grand Finals are best out of 5. BYOC. We do not have any extra controllers sorry.

NOTE: Wobbling is banned in this tournament as well as any of the glitches that are known of (Freeze Glitch, etc)

Tournment Registration will start at 12 and the Singles tourny will begin at 1.
Doubles starting time will be determined on how long singles takes.



Housing Locations
There are two places I am going to list. The first is where most housing will take place. The second is the location where the tournament will take place(don't worry they are about a 2 minute walk away from eachother).

Lewis (Havox) is in charge of housing. He gets off of work Friday at 7 p.m. so don't show up before that preferably. To reach him call 505-934-3753. But it is strongly prefered that you PM me or post on this thread about housing at least a few days in advance.

IMPORTANT!
If we are housing you, we most likely will not have enough couches/beds to sleep on. "We dont have many quilts and sleeping bags so if you can, bring something to sleep in (sleeping bag, pillow, blanket, hoody and jeans, whatever you want). Just wanted to let you know just incase." (thank you Kyle)

TOURNAMENT COST
Singles: $10 per person.
Doubles: $20 per team
Crews: Price will be figured out shortly
Prize money will be divided out 60:30:10 for 1st 2nd and 3rd
Registration will begin pretty much anytime before 1. Singles will begin at close to 1. Doubles starting time will be based on the ending time of singles.
Crews will begin after doubles.


CURRENT SET UPS: Including the assuming of Neils we have 8 so far and more are probably needed to ensure a faster and easier tournament

If it is not weird, David and Kyle will have to host the begining of the tourney due to the fact that I WORK ON THE 12! So if worse comes to worse I will not be there the whole time, actually a vast majority of it, unless I call in sick or something. I dont know--but that might jepordize my ablility to go to FS2. But I promis if that does happen(Me not being there for the tourney at my own freaking house), Kyle and David will not bite, my dogs are stupid and awsome, my dad is awesome(David, we can just see if my dad wont bring us home pizza or something...) and I will be there to take everybody to town in GH at 7:30pm.

Since this is evolving into more of a full-blown tournament than a local NM thing, maybe you should up the registration to $10 per person so as to generate a larger pot. Your call, just an idea.

Hey good news; I got promoted and have the twelth off: So I will be hosting my own smashfest at my house!

FORWARD!!!!???? HOlY ******* **** *** GOOD **** FOR THE LOVE OF ***** *** ** *******!!!! Yes, there will be a way to make the money back. Because of the ever increasing ness(not the character) of this smashfest turned tourney, we will be insiting a reg fee for the tourney.

GOLDENGLOVE: May we use your computer for the tournament program? There is no way were doing that by hand so I thought I would take this opportunity to ask.

EVERYONE:::: Due to the every notorious comment about little sisters left by my best friend Twina, and the mentioning of this turning into a all out new for corners tourney with so many poeple wanting to go(or so I hear by word of Forums) I dont know how many people I can board at my house. I have two houses two blocks away from one another, so we can have a good deal of people staying, however, I need to know how many people are actually coming. So---

DAVID: Ask me the questions that your asking Kyle please. Remember, its at my house, and if I dont know what your doing, this will be a terribly organized event(and I will not allow that) therefore, Those who hear about it have my blessing. This is invite ONLY, True-- HOWEVER::::::: I was going to post ness on the local four corners forums respectively anyway(the siblings) but kyle took the liberty of spreading word about it for me, and in that regard, Everybody is in fact invited, those who truly want to go will contact us, like Forward.

NM: Depending upon the count, I will probably give boarding priority to those out of town(or state) due to obvious reasons. In that regard, I will need to know how many people need a place to stay for the tourney, more so than how many are going.

Okay, new update on the day off, I also have the 13th off as well, and I get off of work on the firday before hand at 7. If anybody wants to come early to kick off the tourney, say 8 pm on friday night, we can push it to a 48-54 hour tourney! ((NM clan I am looking at any of you.))

And David, where ever you are, keep the update on whose attending on the main page, give me that list, and I will post it on about ever page I can, along with our rule sets/events and the costs.

Just to clarify because Kyle brought up a good point to me...
The actual Tourneys or events will not start early, only the freindlies. The earlybirds are not going to just jump on in and decide 'whose the best out of who attended' if those who attended are not there yet.

Anyways, wow. I'm surprised the first out-of-state smasher to post on this thread was none other than forward.
Not to entirely discourage OOSers but...
If all of the regular NMers come, which is up to 20 smashers already, the Durango/Utah smashers come (which I estimate 10 altogether), and the nonregular NMers come (which is probably 5), and maybe 5 other OOSers (I doubt it) . . . then we will have at least 35attendees. This gives a $175 pot, meaning 1st place gives $105, which can probably equally accomodate for gas from Tucson.

This tourney is going to fun, but I'm worried for Lewis now. Having a large statewide tournament at a HOUSE with people/chairs/setups littering the floor... I hope you're rich

Hey sorry i havent posted in a while. I just got back from my 5 day vacation and had no internet access I have updated the thread now with more info. Thanks to all for the advise and help so far. I will keep trying to update. I'm going to get a hold of JohnnyLaw to see whats up with farmington because I really want them to make it. We shall see tho.
