Well me and my friends decided to start playing sets instead of 1 match at a time one day. Counter picking and all to get some pratice on more stages.

One of them had the wrong idea on counter picking though but it actually wasn't a bad one. He thought you could opt for a double blind pick the second round and then chose the stage after both characters have been chosen.

This doesn't seem to bad to me but I'm wondering what others think. I like it because it stops things like if a snake counters a MK on norfair then they switch to olimar and the snake player can only use snake he is pretty much screwed.

This takes away some of your ability to CP with characters.

For example, normally the Winner picks his character first. This let's the loser clearly CP his character.

With a double blind pick, there's no guarantee you will CP his character. U might get CP'd yourself.

Also, for your scenario, a double blind wouldn't solve anything if the Snake player only knows how to play as Snake.

I think this settles things.

However, you also misunderstood...

This idea is screwed when you are going up against someone who's main you know.

If thats the case maybe its a better idea to pick a stage YOUR character is good on rather then a stage that your opponent's character is bad on.

For example, I main Diddy Kong, Diddy's worst stage is undoubtfully norfair. However one of my secondaries is G&W, who happens to be very good on that stage.

If your opponent has a character that does really bad on a stage like Diddy on norfair but dosn't bann it. Maybe you should try playing smart by not picking that as your cp.

The current system works but that doesn't mean people can change things on their own tournaments. You can give it a shot, and see the outcome. Then decide which ended up being the best option.

I rue the shame that befalls me for being the muse to this idea XD

Richard was right (never thought I'd say that), CP to benefit YOUR character, not to screw over the opponent's. (b'_')b

well ofcourse there are some scenarios where this doesn't work in your favor but there are others where it does.

This rule isn't really to pick your opponents worst stage but to avoid from choosing there best stage for there secondary or there main if they chose to hide him the first round.
