New Character to be Shown Monday

Wish I could be more excited than anxious for this announcement. There seems to be an overwhelming foreshadowing for the introduction of a character I don't know much about. It's a selfish affair, I know. I'd rather see obvious and bold character entries (give me Rayman, Banjo or Conker by all means) rather than the slightly obscure, or possibly plugged in. That being said, I initially had no idea who Marth, Roy & Ike were, but have kind of invested in them since 2002! Maybe I don't know what I want!

Kind of hoping it's someone everybody knows, especially if it wants to wow or pucker up the audience that EVO should have captivated. Now's the perfect time to make for a slam dunk to keep us and newer players intrigued!

It wouldn't be Rayman. They wouldn't show a trophy of a character before a reveal. It just wouldn't make sense.

Regardless, even if it is not Shulk, the leak is not so easily refuted as Sakurai has had ample time to change his plan despite his original intentions. "Why would he change his plans?" One might ask... well, for the same reason everyone and their grandmother's cat believes Shulk to be the overt choice.

Why would Nintendo go through the trouble of all the legal papers and stuff for a third party character just to make him a trophy. It doesn't make sense.

I mean shulk is cool as **** and all but- wait no he not. xenoblade is cool as **** and all so that makes shulk okay. But I don't see what makes him 3 minute worthy, other than how much the storyline strokes his "sword."

It is irrelevant. All of the inconsistencies in the world would fail to refute the leak because it has not yet been proven wrong. We need an objective confirmation that one of the three remaining characters is removed from the roster.

rayman is the only one of those that even has a small chance since conker and banjo are owned by microsfot now

I just want people to stop treating everything Sal says as a fact, as if it was Sakurai himself. Before he posted the email, a ****load of people were already highly suspecting Shulk. It's not even a lucky guess at this point. If it is indeed Shulk, people will add more stock to the leak even though so many other people predicted it before him.

He said "enjoy Shulk". While that hints at a Shulk reveal, he never truly said Shulk would be revealed today.
The real announcement that would help the leak today is Shulk, but not his trailer, just him being there.

Rayman would be awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwesome in my opinion. He fits in with Nintendo so well. But unfortunately, I don't think it's him. But it is a bit weird why exactly Ubisoft would have anything in this game...

The same happened after we got Mii, Pac-Man, and Palutena. They were arguably more obvious than Shulk. So regardless of the difficulty of prediction, people will follow as it becomes more and more accurate. Honestly, it is only material that he got Wii Fit Trainer, Villager, and Mega Man prior to E3 2013.

Okay at this point here are the things I think are possible for today and my reasons for them.

1. Shulk - Arguably the "Boring" choice. This is most likely to me because we do pretty much know he's coming, but because of that I don't want to see him. The retweet places him above Chrom and Chorus too.

2. Ridley - He's been teased for ages, it's about time we got the low-down on what's happening. A single one-off presentation seems like the perfect opportunity to show up what Ridley is like and how he relates to Pyrosphere.

3. Mewtwo - A serious fan-favourite, three minutes is a long-*** trailer so this would give them time enough to cover the possible three different versions of him and how they work together.

4. Rayman - Unlikely, but given the trophy today I had to put him here. Given that Sakurai specifically mentioned that the trophy was made by Ubisoft for this purpose I can't imagine him being anything more. However I would be very happy to see him.

5. Assassin's Creed Rep - I can already hear you all screaming at me but hear me out. Given the Rayman trophy we can assume Ubisoft has some level of involvement with this game. It's also unlikely that Rayman himself is playable so we can look towards other potential reps to Ubisoft. One that springs to mind is Assassin's Creed which is probably their biggest selling franchise. It has had two DS games (Both of which were originally DS exclusive) and the last two main titles have been released for Wii U and presumably the unrevealed but leaked Assassin's Creed: Comet. This is very similar to the level of coverage Solid Snake had in Brawl and an Assassin would cover the more mature audience that Snake covered in Brawl. One final piece of evidence you can look to is Soulcalibur V, which like SSB4 is also a Namco game and did feature Ezio as the guest star. This proves that Ubisoft is happy for Namco to use the character if they wish.

1. No such thing as a boring newcomer, even if we know he is coming.

2. Chances are, he can also be a boss on Pyrosphere.

3. Mewtwo will probably be like Charizard, where he only gets one Mega Evolution, and almost little explaining would have to be done.

4. An excellent Ubisoft choice, given the cartoony look and feel. Plus his appearance on Nintendo systems nowadays wouldnt seem to displace too far from Smash.

5 This is the unlikely one. Despite AC being one of their best sellers, an AC rep isnt as cartoony as we would like it to be. "But what about Snake?!" Im sure Mr. Kojima (Director of MG if Im not mistaken) asked his good friend Mr Sakurai to place Snake in Smash, and Sakurai was happy about it.

MGS is actually a really tongue in cheek franchise, so it fits Smash, even if it's a bit gritty.

AC is based off of real life history, with religious conflicts and such being a part of it. I don't think we'll see AC in Smash.
