New Character: Stafy (Densetsu no Stafy series)

I feel so bad for all of you! it must suck having one the the characters you want most in the game be announced unplayable, that stinks. At least stafy did make it into the game though, i still dont have ANY word on the person i want the most, i am really anxious! goo luck though on any other character you want!

I really don't feel bad for any Stafy or Waluigi fans. No offense, but they really shouldn't have truly believed these characters had any sort of chance.

Why? Stafy is a perfectly reasonable character! He had tons of moves that could be made into a possible moveset.

Well I disagree. And so does Sakurai. I just don't think he's important enough. But Sakurai did have the decency to address Stafy's had followers.

Stafy would have been nice, but I can see him not working. For one thing, hes just an amphibian, therefore without water= Fail. Kind of like Magikarp. Plus, he floated the entire time. How would it work?

Well sucks to be you, because Ness already made it, twice. And who cares, no one likes you. You're basically a 4chan, and a waste of room on the smash boards.
And Lucas will be a low tier in Brawl. Trust me, I know these things. He'll be about where Link is on the Melee tiers at best.

QTF.Umm.. Golden Sun and Advanced Wars haven't made it to a main Nintendo console...Unless you count Nintendo Wars released for the Famicom in Japan.
And I don't see how being on a handheld only, affects their chances.
Game and Watch? Roy? Pokemon is HEAVY on the portable. MUCH more important than in the Main Nintendo consoles.
Why people underappreciate portable systems is something that is beyond me... Especially when Nintendo DS is the BEST-SELLING video-game system, and 1/4 of people in Japan own one.
Anyway... My condolences with Stafy fans... Here's hoping his games are released in the West soon, and hoping next Smash Bros installment features 100 playable characters.

It's not like Parrothead cares. Seeing Stafy represented (As well as any japan only character) even if it's an AT, he'd be glad. People who only root for the popular characters would never understand.
To guys like us, seeing obscure characters return, even as ATs, is a HUGE win. So don't think you guys "owned" him or "beat" him. God.. how childish can people... never mind... I guess I should just notice where I'm standing at.
Seriously, the SWF is failing me. Half of you dedicates SWF posters are scrubs (Jigglymaster, goateeguy, Blitzkrieg, Luke Groundwalker), while the other half are sheer genius, who aren't total jerks, and ******* (Hemightbegiant, Del Money, shinhed-echi, Fawriel, and aeris). A few people who I respected I have lost serious respect for.
Seriously, there's a limit to the insults and madness, and it's sure as hell is easy to know it.
And Fawriel, why the hell did you even consider Luke "a good student". As THE (WW Link for Brawl) MASTER, I was never proud of him, ever. He should have gotten off my internets a LOOOOOOONG time ago.
And why the hell are people opposed to Staffy's games going international=??? If anything, it SHOULD HAPPEN! It doesn't effect your life at all if a series goes international that you've never played, so STFU scrubs! Seriously, the only way it effects your life is if you play it. Then you'd be eating your own s***!
I can honestly say that I am heavily ashamed to be considered a avid member of the SWF. It saddens me how deep in the dumps the Brawl Boards and all these avid members who I previously thought were "nice" have gone. This is really a sad, sad day.

People should just accept stafy for what he was going to be anyway. Atleast Sakurai gave him a better design than what he did to Lakitu(did I spell this right lol?)

The Assist Trophy isn't rare...But the problem is this awsome assist trophy is rare, not as rare as Mew or Celebi, but still rare.
But anyway, he's a awsome assist trophy who you can hit for fun. XP Not to mention you can HIT him, so he could be in adventure mode as a cutscene character or something.
It basically said its one of the rare assist trophies that can be attacked meaning... Not many ATs can be attacked but some can.. it isn't saying Stafy will appear less often than any other AT

He's saying that the simple fact you can interact with Stafy might warrant him in a cutscene. Something like a joke character that pops up in cutscenes and immediately gets b***h-smacked off, Team Rocket style.

ON TOPIC: Stafy is probably one of the worst ATs (good job Sakurai!) and since it can be kicked off the stage (ala cyndaquil) it will become even more useless.
Hey this is sweet, Stafy looks like a pretty good AT. I read the first post so I have some kinda clue about who Stafy is, but I gotta ask, were there really people expecting Stafy to be playable? I'm not flaming anyone or trying to troll, but I'm just curious. And I don't just mean people who WANTED him to be, but people who actually believed he had a chance.

That's okay, Chidosengan. I dislike that song by Simple Plan, because many people at YTMND and perhaps elsewhere use that song for emo-related content. I'm not an emo at all.

personally im all for stafy and while im sad to see him in because hey stafy in brawl is a win in any book
maybe for the sequel but who's to tell--and i think sakurai might not like him... you saw the caption, "Stafy why did you even come here?"
however perhaps this thread should be closed. for the protection of the characters integrity, no doubt, people have come to flame, like other chars who were at's or not even confirmed yet {{yes there is a pro and anti ness thread now.

Sure, Stafy didn't get in as a playable character...but neither did Goroh, Lyn, Saki, Little Mac, Gray Fox, and undoubtedly many others that are yet to come. But like the Ice Climbers and Mr. Game & Watch, people who didn't know much about Densetsu no Stafy, F-Zero, or Sin & Punishment, will now suddenly have something to cause them to look further into these games. With a lot of high-demand characters already in the role of playability, Nintendo will either need to reach deeper into its roster of franchises, or start to branch outward into third parties. Both are logical steps, and it feels as if those that are Assist Trophies now that should be playable will gain the momentum and fan base necessary to earn them playable status.
I have no doubt that Goroh and Saki will be playable in the fourth SSB title (if Sakurai or someone else decided to develop it), especially now that they're being "advertised" in Brawl. I'd go so far as to say Little Mac and Stafy would follow suit, too. Most of you are looking at Assist Trophies as a wholly negative thing, and the rest of you see it as a "take what you can get" deal; underneath all that is the gauge of how well people respond to these characters.

Well.. is he? Can you really say that person has been pwned, when his desired character gets attention? And not just any attention, but ANIMATED attention? (Maybe a litlte bit of taste of what would be the full fledged character).

I don't mean to talk $hit but I think it's funny how you are able to hit Stafy back.

because haters and flamers came to "share their opinions" and thus others shared their opinions, unlike the ness debate which was allowed to split into two different threads, one is the good old classic ness support thread, and then there is the ness is out; come help those in denial thread
the purpose of the second was to net in people who would defend the character because quite frankly, we all know sakura said "up until now" --who hasnt recited that phrase,
for all we know he probably thought to himself "up until now, ness was alone as a earthbound rep" but not posted who's to say?? who really knows--but that's not the point
waluigi flamers instead of going to the complaint, mourning or brawl graveyard thread, decide to head into the supporters home turf, and throw flames in their face--sure a few people might have been upset at the decision, but i think many were happy to see him appear at all, regardless it had decsented into chaos in a matter of hours and THAT is the reason this is still open
