Sneaky: if gardevoir’s in, wouldn’t that mean Mewtwo would be out. they’d have pretty much the same moveset. No clones, remember?

The Pokemon aren’t going to change costumes beacause THE CHARACTER IS THE POKEMON TRAINER. :)

Black charizard would be sweet as hell.

Going back a bit, ridley doesnt ALWAYS fly. In metroid prime 1 a large part of the battle is on the ground. They could easily have him walking around for smash bros. The constant flying thing works too though.

You guys are talking about this site right? Ive never had any problems getting on before… Maybe Ive just been lucky though

Gamer Blue. I think we understand what your saying, but I think what other people are saying is that if the Pokemon trainer is the only one changing colors then it would be hard to differentiate between who is fighting who. You are essentially controlling the Pokemon, not the trainer.

Let’s compromise and say they will both change costumes.

yes but nevertheless the pokemon have to look different when multiple people select the trainer, because its the pokemon you control, and if theres 4 completely identical charizards on the screen things would get ridiculously confusing

hey heres a FS idea for squirtle; he pulles out a pair of sunglasses, puts them on, crouches down, you hear a big rumble then BOOM a big wave comes from under him. or to put it simply; SURF! (w. sunglasses)

omg rediculous amount of comments glad 2 cnot 2 many complaints pokemon wont change color trainer will nd i thought about it nd i wonder if sakurai will give us more colors 2 choose from like every1 has a form of black nd white nd u can pick that as ur color in team battle!!!!! u cnt tell me that wouldnt be sikkkkk

You know they have all these posts about characters, items, music, stages, and other stuff. But they haven’t had anything about the menu.

I’d bet that the red trainer is just the default first / player one costume.
They could have Jesse and James as alternate costumes.
And while it may announce “Pokemon Trainer!” when you choose the character, we all know the character’s name is really what you put in as yours… :)

For moving levels, it isn’t difficult to imagine that the character can just have a set path they will walk and climb on in the background. After all, don’t the moving levels always move at the same rate? He wouldn’t even need a flying device- are any of the characters REALLY going to be using the ladders in DK’s stage? Or are the ladders for the trainers.

I wouldn’t hope for more. I’m sure this is many trainers in one.

Pokemon using fly?
Well, why not? Add a nice lil extra animation to your friendly trainer in the background as you move up screen, right?
