Alright cool. I am starting up the room now.

----------------------

Awesome games Clinton!

How did you do the thing with Lucas where you did B down in the air and you slid in the air for like half the screen.

Also any critique?

Sorry about all the SD's PSI Thunder is not my friend when I play Wifi. XD

GGs man, if you want some advice I would learn not to spam PK Fire, especially on the ground, it is very easy to react to and punish a missed ground fire (not so much an lagless aerial fire, even though that still has issues).

As for Lucas:
The easy way to do it for beginners is to set specials to the c-stick, jump backwards and PK fire forward, than press the Magnet with the C-stick.

If you want, I guess I can go into more detail about the 4 heights Lucas has and the 3 different speeds he has with the cost of his 2nd jump. (although I would rather you check the Lucas guides)

Or I could make another game and just show off some of the specials.

I kept thinking that PSI Fires weren't safe. Thanks for confirming it.

Also I will read up on the guides for that, dont worry about the matches we played were helpful enough! :D

To be fair, I didn't really even start with all of the advanced techs Lucas has with his fire, magnet, and thunder in that one match I played as him.

I would recommend not setting C-stick to specials, if you're going to start learning stuff like that with Lucas, you should learn C-bouncing instead of B-sticking. If you have any questions like that, feel free to ask in the Lucas boards QnA.

Ness technically has Zap Jump, but it's not quite like Lucas' Zap Jump, in that it goes more horizontally.

Going on:

Fire can be safe, even on the ground, you just have to be careful about using it (such as I was when playing as Ness). Ask yourself what will happen before each use, a good way to read into this would be knowing what each character can do if they do get hit with it.

A bad timed PK fire pretty much allows 100% of the cast to escape from it after hitting with it sadly using good DI in case you didn't notice that after that one match I gave you as Ganondorf where I didn't DI out of it. It is also easy for certain characters like D3 or even another Ness to just use a 2nd jump out of the fire due to how their hitboxes work in the 1st place. Oh and a good % of the cast can even turn the pillar on Ness badly.

G&W can fill up a bucket on a spare pillar if he wants. A pillar bucket by itself won't OHKO Ness or anyone for that matter (it will just do a lot of damage), but all he needs is a single head from PKT or PKF and you will become at risk for a bucket KO from those extra 2 pillar sparks he can use to fill the bucket, and because of G&Ws grab/Dthrow, that is an issue. A grab can = a lost stock at low % with a full bucket because of how Ness reacts to the stuff G&W has.

A ditto Ness or Lucas also can just absorb it and recover like up to 30% (Ness), or 40% (Lucas) from it if your foe times it right (and then magnet cancel to lol at you).

Mario/Zelda/Falco can reflect it easily even when in the fire and Marth and other characters with "counter" moves can attack out of them usually as well even. Still you can use that on them at least as well to a point. Such as if they blindly reflect the pillar they do leave themselves open, but do note that Fire up close isn't safe for Ness with them in it.

Plus characters like Marth (again) that have invulnerability frames in various moves at the right spots (such as at the start of the move until the attack lol) with can use them to get out of the fire easily but again, them blindly doing it isn't smart because said moves do have an opening, just remember again that being up close to fire pillars isn't safe with certain characters FOR NESS for this reason as well.

So never throw ground PK Fire out up close with Falco and such other characters with certain tools like a good up close reflector and/or a quick attack move, you can end up with like 50% on you in some very bad cases (at least with the reflector people like a pro Falco who knows about everything with his character and the match ups).

Do I perform this the same way as Lucas' Zap Jump?
Yes pretty much. BTW, in Ness' case this technique IMO is a another way to stop some spam from characters like D3 if used right (a good way actually).

Oh and to get some foes actually trapped in a pillar sometimes and make them eat like 30% and more (way more actually) or so if you continue on them with it right (like predicting where they will DI it and making sure the lag you'll suffer from using the move is reduced as much as possible).

Again, my point about using PK Fire right though.

Limit the use of it and be careful about where you throw it out. Keep in mind that even just throwing it out w/o the intent to hit and for spacing mind games (like I do a lot) could still backfire on you badly if used wrong.

Though that is better than trying to hit with it in general in the long run, just like with PKT2 (you have to "feel it out" if you get my point about landing one of those).

Still, Ness' PKT (total) >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> PKF (total).

Well maybe a bit more then that actually.

^_^

HAY GUYZ!!!!

I hate working days back-to-back... it's obnoxious.

I might wanna play as well...

I'm going to gradually brainstorm some stuff with all my throws and grab setups to see if I can force some insanity. I'm testing out new theories.

Also, if you're looking for wavebounce, fast fingers helps. I practiced for a long time to get it down, but I can easily wavebounce psi magnet. Pkfire Is slightly harder.

Ggs... Sorry, I had to go get pizza.

Good Lucas. Your aggressive playstyle is different from everyone else, which is probably why my dtilt tricks don't work as much. Gotta get some more counter measures for that. I've gotta fix some things in my game... Thanks for pointing that out.

Also, I don't know why I started to roll a lot again. Gotta fix that too. I rolled into fsmashes.

Good Lucas.
Thanks, Lucas and Ness are my mains. You have a pretty good Ness as well, even if I think the small amounts of lag did affect our recoveries a lot (still not as bad as last night when I couldn't even recover as Ganondorf right by the stage, or Ness did PKF instead of PKT).

Well, you ended up somewhat magnet happy, so I didn't bring out my other Ness strats for that reason (I use PKT a lot more on average in case you didn't notice with that Kirby fight, I also use it more when people are just playing defense styles).

I also do a lot of fake outs as well (in case you didn't notice that on BF, I made some failed thunder slides with Lucas on purpose at the start of the match).

I made some accidental "let's jump into this pkt and not use the attack to cancel out the head like I wanted to" when I was playing Kirby... Also, jump right into the pkt2... :(

I kept screwing up for no reason whatsoever... It's just a habit I guess. Gotta work on not jumping into combos I see coming as well.

GGs again, my wii froze for some reason, but I have to work in less than 7 hours so I'm going to quit anyway.

Boy it pisses me off when I have a big opening on someone but I end up missing said chance. Such as how I left your shield pretty weak on Halberd at one point and I'm thinking I could have broke it, but I screwed up the PKT that would have done it, and another big one happened on FD with Ness dittos where you were rolling up from the ledge and I was right next to you, then my PKT flew over both our heads...
