The first two stocks I get totally bent over and *****. Then I try to take the wall to my advantage. And it kind of worked even though I know shieks Dsmash can ruin lives there.
I didn't take shiek here I dont like that stage with falco because I tend to miss Lcancels on the uneven ground. And for some reason I have trouble L cancelling vs. shiek.

Anyway... Just point out anything you think might be the reason this matchup feels so hopeless to me.
Please point out anything I should not have done, or I should have done

Thanks!

I watched the one on FD as well. A few things...

1. You really need to work on your laser game. Watch Forward or DSW vids purposefully looking at when and how they laser. The only laser technique you could do was the standing SHL. Learn to be more comfortable with moving SHL and RSHL they will help your game tremendously. I also never saw you double laser coming from the edge, that could of helped you a few times since the Sheik stayed back out of range waiting for the phantasm.

2. More watching your opponent, less watching yourself. There were quite a few times you did moves that should have never happened because your opponent was somewhere else or you had an opportunity you wasted. An example would be around 2:45 of the corneria video. You SHL him when he was on the ground and the Sheik did the automatic get up animation. If you were paying attention that would have been a free smash or grab. This will help on when you full and double jump stuff as well since if you see that they don't approach and are waiting for you to land or are shielding, you can just waveland into them and shine or waveland away and laser.

3. You messed up quite a few shffls, nothing to do there really except more practice and time. At higher % is probably better against Sheik to shine bair rather than dair to setup for edgegaurds. Use other moves when shffling besides the dair. Nair to shine works well, and bair is nice when you want to space stuff.

Cool.
I noticed I do stand SHL a lot too. I am pretty comfortable with moving but for some reason I don't. I live in fear of that dash attack. I just flat out cannot do the ledghop double laser.

I'll definitely practice that stuff though.
Thanks for the tips!

It seems you mostly focus on your teching instead of watching the game. Advanced techniques can be really useful if you master them, but if you don't, it can sometime make you worse than u actually are. I say practice ur advanced technique, and when u battle, try to use only the one u master so u can focus on the game, and not on urself. Shiek goes fast and you must try to predict her moves, so just watch the game more and you'll be much better.

Ive been doing the running SHL and RSHL and I realized how much faster falco moves when I do this. I just never really realized before that I was never doing it right.
The only thing is, I'm not used to how far it moves me now.
I also never realized how much I don't look directly at the person I'm playing against. Kinda weird for me to play like that, but it seems to help.

Oh, and watching the video again, I just wanted to say i usually wouldn't just spam lasers in one place like that. I did it because it was making the shiek player mad. And I didn't really want him to get under the wing.

Ouch!! I think you need to work on short hop lasers and shffl's.....you need lasers to mess up sheik's combos and shffl's to combo sheik...and for edgegaurding use the down smash..works pretty well

up tilt ***** shiek. Once you get better at shffl'ing and shl'ing, start trying to land them behind sheik and utilting her shield. If she tries to jump out or does anything but roll or take it, she will get hit and you can combo out of it. I used to hate playing sheik, then i started up tilting a ton and the matchup improved immensely for me.

yeah what sparrow says is completely tru, u need to get sheik in the air, once you do that you'll be able to combo her at will, as long as you use lasers and proper tech chase you should be able to combo her to death.

as of for the sheik, tell him i want to play against him for the rights of TRU!!!!!!!!!!!! thats kinda my signature word/name ask anyone

that guy plays like my bro, exactly like him

i would try to shield grab, block ALOT, learn to tech roll(REALLY USEFUL), and short hop lazers should help, otherwise, i dont know what to say..
do not block ALOT, never block ALOT against a sheik, they can just run and grab, and sometimes sheik's fair can hit you while blocking, more lazers...keep making sheik mad.:chuckle:

I do SHFFL a lot better against characters I'm used to playing against. Like Gannon, Marth, Samus, DK. But i'm not used to shiek's height and it throws me off.
And teeman... I know how to techroll... he always tech chases me though so I try not to do it a lot.

Anyway... just using more lasers and watching shiek instead of myself made it A LOT better. I actually beat him the first three matches.

And LOL at Ken34. Get out of the Falco boards SON!

i like the strategy of sticking to the corner and forcing the sheik into you, that turned the game around.

i;ve seen you attempt to edge hog once ( i think) when that happens and shiek up Bs onto the land you should punish her!

you shouldve ledge hopped onto the stage instead of just rolling back on.

I'm just trying to pick up a falco from a fox and shiek is a much harder match up for falco. On corneria or any stage for that matter, don't feel pressured into following your opponent. Shiek is great in small areas where all she has to do is d-smash. Falco's lasers are a lot better on flat areas.
