Hey guys. I am wanting to buy the metriod prime trilogy for my wii. But my parents are skeptical about the game cause they haven't seen much of it and they are worried it is like a blood fest or maybe has some bad spiritual stuff. I think I can show them that the games really arn't that bad. (cause from what I have seen they aren't.) But I am wondering about the first one imp-articular. I have heard that it has a bunch of like spiritual stuff in it about the chozos. Like false gods and stuff or spirits and stuff. I have read one review that says that it is in the whole game and one that says it is only on one level. But I don't know which to pick! So can someone who has played the games level with me on whether the games are good or not?

The first is a very good game that you should buy, second one, abit hard but you should buy it if the price is 10-15 dollars.

Uh... that's the first time I've ever heard anyone mention spirituality and the MP series. First off, if there's blood at all, then I missed it. You don't fight people, only aliens. As far as the spirituality stuff, I don't think there's really much at all. There are tidbits of the Chozo history scattered throughout the first game, and similar stuff in the second for the story of Aether. It's not going to convert anyone to their beliefs. The Chozo stuff, if it can even be compared to a religion, is more similar to the eastern traditions, with them experiencing increased enlightenment. But it's not remotely preachy at all ever. Quite the opposite. Zelda games are more overtly religious. If's no more harmful than reading about another religion in a class from a historical perspective. If your parents are opposed to you even hearing that other religions exist, then they could have a problem, but that's pretty irrational.

Uhhh.....green poison stuff comes out when you shoot the big, ugly mushrooms. Aside from that, I can't think of anything that would remotely be considered blood of any kind. As for religious stuff..what Scott! said. Unless you live in some kind of cultural bubble, I imagine you're fine.

Metroid prime was good. I'd rather play super metroid though, the best metroid by far.

By the way, metroid is nintendo...nothing that bad is going to be in it...it's nintendo.

Seriously, they don't? What's their beef with it? Cause, after like Kirby and Mario, it's about as harmless as a Nintendo franchise can be. I don't want to bash on your parents; I'm just curious as to how they justify that.
Evolution?

Oh good public humiliation. Thats ok. Truth is my mom read that the card game has you trading souls or something. That is what I remember. The thing is that was like 12 years ago. So yeah it could be that. Or it could be that the games are very addicting....And when I did have the opportunity to play them (before it was band for me) I was...consumed. And no it is not about evolution. My mom (least I dont think) doesn't care about that form of it. It is not even real evolution. But yeah no pokemon for me.

Yet you're allowed to play brawl, where you beat people up for no reason? Let alone join a forum, where we could all be creepy pedophiles out to **** unsuspecting kids?

What's with this "could be"? I joined under the pretense that everyone here was a creepy pedophile out to **** unsuspecting kids. Are you telling me that we're not all creepy pedophiles out to **** unsuspecting kids?

Space-Knight, I'm probably one of the most Christian people on this forum, ask anyone here. There is absolutely nothing spiritually upsetting about Metroid Prime, the Zelda series, or Pokemon. I played all of them and I'm probably going to end up working full time in the church later on in life. Other Christians think I follow the Bible too closely (which I don't think is possible unless you distort the Scriptures or miss the heart of them), so you can trust my opinion in this: You're totally fine playing video games like those. As long as you don't get involved in worship of other gods, it's just a story. That's the way I see it, take it for what it's worth.

nope, nothing offensive really. And the shooting aspect.. it's just not really there actually. This game isn't like your typical shooter where that's all you do. You'll have to put your brain to work at times actually especially in the second game to find out strategies for bosses, enemies and all that jazz. You will probably get frustrated if you start on hard your first try in the second game so watch out for that.

Other than that anything that even seems religious really isn't there and you don't even have to read it really (Chozo lore is sort of boring IMO, the pirate data is a LOT more interesting). Though I do encourage reading the lore when you can, most of it's pretty interesting and adds on to the experience. As religious as they go is to like, being in an alternate dimension and seeing the future is all. That's it. On 2 though.. it's just like light and dark stuff. Like halo-ish but more darker. Not bad though.. just video game things

also i feel really bad if your mom thinks pokemon is still evil. i though this died down on 2nd gens release =/

oh well, it still happens though. and dont worry about public humiliation i've seen a lot worse on these boards (not implying that's all that bad LOL)

edit: you are getting the trilogy disc right? not just prime 1 and 2? unless you're a collector i can understand. I have the trilogy but I still want to get prime 1 and 2 used (new if possible but just lol @ that fantasy)
