Exactly!Don't think Nintendo cares at all on how much coverage or viewer numbers it got. And Nintendo has been well known to decline doing a "cash cow" (Like smart phone gaming, any petitions and fan campaigns, region-free, etc.) Not to mention since Nintendo has $10 billion in their bank account I can't see them wanting more money badly. Plus, last time I checked, Melee wasn't the 6th Smash game.
Nintendo haven't even mentioned a new console dude. They've talked about their whole fitness platform...thing, and there was that insane post on a Nintendo site late last year that speculated about the next console being the Nintendo Fusion, but that was pretty much debunked when people calculated the sheer cost of the parts specified to be in it - seriously, it would be more powerful than most enthusiast level PCs, it was just insanely fake. :')Nintendo did recently give some details on their next console. It could be entirely possible that they realize the importance of good launch titles and they want smashbros to be one of them rather than have it be late to the party like this generation. Wii U desperately needed this so it would be a smart decision.
As for what smashbros 6 is, I'm willing to bet it will be smashbros wii U but with a few added features/characters and updated to work on the new console.

That would be a reference to their QOL platform, which is seperate from the gaming division, and therefore not their 'next console' as such. They've also stated that while they are branching out into this fitness platform their main focus will remain on their gaming division, and therefore the Wii U.They have.

They mentioned their next console as a long term goal. Its aimed at "quality of life" and health. Supposedly going to launch 2015-16 (on the last page of those slides). Idk what smashbros would be doing on that sort of console but its a thing.
Would that not be just Mario Kart with characters from multiple series? Perhaps with attacks tacked on? I don't knows, the potential doesn't really seem to be there for me to want a blend of these two.The first thought that came to my mind was DLC. If that is not the case, then a mobile version would make sense, albeit I have no idea how that could even work.
What if it's a Smash Bros. racing game? That's something I've always wanted.
Mixing Mario Kart and Smash Bros. is NOT a bad business move at all.
With courses based on different Nintendo universes and items from the Smash series. And more realistic graphics. I don't know, but I would like such game.Would that not be just Mario Kart with characters from multiple series? Perhaps with attacks tacked on? That typo hypothesis is actually incredibly believable; I'm a bit disappointed in myself that I didn't consider it immediately.Almost certainly DLC or a typo and "Soul Calibur 6" was the intended name.
And GOKU!!! LolSuper Smash Bros Arcade DX ULTRA featuring Pac-Man and some other no-name Namco characters!
Namco sure does have a habit of putting their retro characters in any game they can.Super Smash Bros Arcade DX ULTRA featuring Pac-Man and some other no-name Namco characters!
I would say probably either c or d.It is either:
a. an error/something that is not actually happening
b. that theory that Namco is making their own Smash game with their own characters in exchange for developing this one
c. DLC
d. an arcade game
e. an updated version of this game, possibly for a new console if the Wii U is actually ever replaced
f. a "third game," equivalent to Pokémon Yellow/Crystal/Emerald/etc.
g. something equivalent to the various iterations of fighting games they put out as 'upgrades'
h. an entirely new sequel, which sounds extremely unlikely
i. Melee HD
But that is not even necessary, because the Wii U supports downloadable content. Patches and additions can be released through DLC instead of having to put out a whole new game.Assuming this is true and not an error...
Stop guessing what it means. A 2015 Smash has really only one logical possibility. It would be an "expanded" game like Street Fighter and some other games do. Expect some balance changes, a few new characters, stages, items, etc. But don't expect a huge amount.
It's certainly not going to be a whole new game as that is not enough time to make it. No fudging way would they remake Melee and you're fooling yourselves if you think they are (similar to how people are fooling themselves into believing Ridley isn't just a boss). I highly doubt they'd call a non-Smash Bros game "Smash 6". An expansion (that is sold as a new game) is the only logical explanation.
I would welcome it.
Yeah, but they can't make another 40 quid if they provide it as DLC...But that is not even necessary, because the Wii U supports downloadable content. Patches and additions can be released through DLC instead of having to put out a whole new game.
Like many, I believe it was a typo or DLC for next year. I’ll cross my fingers for the latter, and hope that they release a villains pack with K. Rool and Ridley.
"Not necessary" is something that is often ignored in the game industry these days. It literally doesn't matter. But that is not even necessary, because the Wii U supports downloadable content. Patches and additions can be released through DLC instead of having to put out a whole new game.

that did not stop them for making lugi u in case formBut that is not even necessary, because the Wii U supports downloadable content. Patches and additions can be released through DLC instead of having to put out a whole new game.

I thought Nintendo was Nintendo's link to aracde gaming, seeing as they use to make arcade games.Smash 4: Super Smash Brothers for 3DS
Smash 5: Super Smash Brothers for Wii U
Smash 6: Super Smash Brothers for Arcade
Makes sense with the 6.
Plus, when Mario Kart was ported to arcade, guess who did it?
That's right, Namco.
They're basically Nintendo's link to arcade gaming.
This article is probably bs though.
I don't think they've done any this millennium. But it's been a while since I've visited an arcade.I thought Nintendo was Nintendo's link to aracde gaming, seeing as they use to make arcade games.
I think there might have been some, but only for Japan.I don't think they've done any this millennium. But it's been a while since I've visited an arcade.
Exactly the point I was making.Nintendo still does Arcade through others. In fact through Namco... The Mario Kart arcade game has Pacman and stuff.
They actually took someone else's Smash facebook page and made it their own.Yeah, it's been dead for ages, but they seem to have revived it today with a few updates.![]()
Mm, I don't know about that.Project M is better than any Melee remake would and could be.
