N00b-ish question

While I was practicing today to play against my friend who plays a pretty random yet still predictable peach I came up with a new tactic that Im not sure will work.

Well, anyway, this is what i did, i was about the distance of a pichu laying down from the cpu(a peach). I dashed forward slightly and quickly WDed back to exactly where he could sweetspot a f tilt or smash. The peach of course had about 120% because i was messing with it previously. But, I saw that the peach used a forward b and I slightly charged a forward smash and hit it while it was lagging.

Do you think this could be used against my friend not regularly but just as a mindgame. Maybe not even the f smash, be just sometimes for making him use a move and possibly go for a grab. (he also uses falco and sometimes roy) Also, can this tactic be used by other characters as well?

Thx for any possible help. =]

I dashed forward then WDed back, it forward smashed while I ran forward, it missed, I sweetspotted a f-smash. Can that be enough to trick real people?

well sorry for not having the common knowledge and being a little late because i most likely started playing after you. Just because someone has less experience than you doesnt mean you should go putting them down for it. All I was trying to do was see if I could get better by learning something new (which i DID) so, thanks for helping, I wont ask any other STUPID questions

It wasn't necessarily a dumb question, so much as a horrific way of presenting it.
OK, not being disrerpectful, your OBVIOUSLY more experienced than me. I just said it that way so I could explain as much as possible I didnt want it to just sound like "Can I run forward, WD back and get someone to attack and then hit them" cuz that just sounds stupid. I just wanted to explain my purpose sorry if it was bad maybe Ill learn what to do next time then which I still dont get >_<

Lol u guys r mean.

shadow - Yea its good to play aggresively then all of a sudden pull out a dash right into their face just to Wd backwards so keep that n mind. Phoenix is so complicated. Lol. Uhh, well Dashdancin and Wavedancin r also good ways to make yur oppenent whiff or shield. Keep praticin, mindgames and fakeouts will come natral to you from expirence.

Guys, you are evil. Stop trying to get him to venerate you by trying to look like you're better than him. We were all once sort of a beginner, just like him.

Anyway, although basic, it is still a good strategy. However, you may want to be careful. After awhile, your opponent will catch onto you. If that's the case, try jumping around and wavedashing all over the screen. Your opponent will eventually come to attack, and you'll be able to dodge and counter. It's not the best tip ever, but it helps me win my battles.

Another way is to quickly stop WDing and use your Counter when he smashes.

And I don't mind the questions, as long as the person asking them isn't stupid. I ask dumb questions all the time. :)

Ummm, I don't see why someone would use a smash if your about to dash attack them. Wouldn't they shield? I'm pretty sure a real peach would shield therefore just grab them.

Although, if they are powering up their d-smash or something then yeah, that would be a good way to fake em out and counter nicely.

See guys, as dumb as what he said sounds, it actually is going to come in handy for me as well as other NON-pro smashers. Thank you Shadow Fox.

This is a noob question? Seems like a valid one to me...

In the thick of the battle, people tend to stray from what's the best move and rely on reflex. If your tactic is used quickly and at an appropriate time, it can be effective to change the flow of the battle. Even the pros could try and F-smash if they see you approaching and miss when you WD backward, leaving them open for attack. All depends on the application and how well you can do it.

Thx for actually helping me... I'll remember that. Ok...*goes to practice as told*
Way too common.

Way too basic.

Fake outs are part of mindgames, but fake out's aren't always equivilant to mindgames

Remember that.
Well, thanks I guess, that makes sense. iight practice time bye
