These are the winners losers and championship finals of the tournament I just won. I am posting all of them so that you can get ot know the people i Played against. Dom (whose smashboards name is One Winged Angelo and whose only character is lucario) is wayyyyy too campy and Daywalker is kinda wack. He and I both managed to beat the pika player in my area who is really really good. but i dont know how he did it.

I really dont know why, but everybody in my entire town bans Lylat Cruise for some reason, so I vowed that I would counterpick lylat everytime i got a chance. and i felt like I just got The Glow like Yoda or something at 2:38

So feel free to comment criticise, or just be totally random, this is the sonic boards after all.

But I also have some questions...
Why the hell does sonic's jab suck so much, every other character can jab right through it.
And why does my playstyle seem so much different from everybody else's? it seems like everyone else wants to fly all over the place with reckless abandon, while I seem to focus a lot more on my ground game and spacing.

You do not grab nearly enough. Shield grabbing or otherwise. On the bright side, your tilt game looks somewhat decent and you make good use of nair (which a lot of Sonics tend not to).

Nice vids but you need to grab more its a great combo starter..... and i see you jugle between sonic and lucario i actually use 3 backups for mine to counter pick just in case....who do u use agaist a Snake???

and that wolf ist nearly as spammy as the ones im use to jej......

actually i play sonic against snake, the one in my area, he always beats me but we have some really good matches, and ive vowed to beat him at some point with sonic, since hes a sonic hater, but if i can counterpick and they pick the right character, snake included...

D3 on pokestadium 1... ALL DAY ALL DAY its great, especially when the fire stage comes up.
but anyway, back to sonic's jab... why does it suck so hard and what can we do about it?
and do you guys think its bad that im not SD'ing all over the stage or is it just another good playstyle that sonics can use

imo Sonic's jab is a disruptor. Like if someone's spot dodging, a jab can get them off guard. Since you can stagger the timing.

Or if they're grounded, you can do a tiny jab lock then get them with a smash upon getup.

It's not a bad thing that you're not doing spindashes all over the place. It definitely opens up the path to feints though, since you won't have any spindash patterns to worry about.

Sonic's jab doesn't suck, it has it's uses. In fact, it's one of this best (if not his only) GTFO attacks. His Spindash clashes with a lot of stuff, Arrows, aura spheres, Snake's tilts, Marth's sword and a lot of chars Smashes. The Jab is the fastest thing Sonic has, so it's the best thing o use after a clash.

It does such harder than a lot of other characters jabs though, but most characters are less reliant on it.

I c ... Well i got No D3 experience whatsoever.. i usually counterpick falco if i know the Snake is good...

down smash is much better for punishing spotdodges and rolls, since it hits twice on both sides.

im pretty sure that down tilt can do the after clash hit job just as well, b/c if your opponent knows your going to jab, they can spam their jabs and hit you before you kick with the 3rd jab
