I'm guessing this is the right place to put this and I'll start my first blog with my favorite and least favorite stages of all time in the Super Smash Bros. Series counting down from 10. Stages are my favorite part about the Smash Bros Series. While I'm perfectly fine about the Brawl roster there are stages I would have loved to see more of. Keep in mind these are from my past experiences and I would love to see others make their own and since I don't want to end on a bad note, I'll start with my least favorite.

My Least Favorite Stages:
So, all the stages from this part of the list is mostly from Brawl because... well... that's when things got a little too much for me. There were some things about the stage that made it unplayable or really annoying to the point where it wasn't fun.

8: Skyworld

The whole stage in general is just plain gorgeous, but overall, it's nothing but a pain. I've turned this stage off because because of the breakable platforms constantly get in the way and it's very hard to move around. I can remember all the times I've screamed like a girl when I rest with Jigglypuff but instantly fails when someone hits a platform right above me.

Overall, I'm glad this stage was included as a little tribute to Pit, one of my favorite Nintendo characters of all time. I sometimes find my way around the hazards (especially with a certain file which removes them) and I'm sure other people find their way around them too.

What I like: Very beautiful setting with great songs. (Underworld being one of my favorite songs in the soundtrack)

What I don't like: Very hard to move around with the platforms.

7: Port Town Aero Drive

In Melee, Mute City was my favorite stage all of time. What's wrong with this? It's a little hard to play on. Why? Let's start off with the very large and awkward drop off spots and the race cars than can KO you at low percentages. Not only are the drop off spots very awkward, the are no ledges you can grab on to which can lead to an easy KO.

While some people my be able to play through this, it's a little hard for me. While Mute City didn't have ledges, didn't have ledges, it still had reasonable sized drop offs and the race cars weren't as deadly..

What I like: Freaking epic music.
What I don't like: Awkward placed drop offs and over powered race cars.

6: Bridge of Eldin

Welcome to a world where raging bulbin blows up a bridge revealing a huge gap and is filled in... and it happens around every minute.

While I do like the concept, I'm not a fan of the ridiculously large stage that offers walk offs. Although I do love the whole Twilight Princess tribute.

What I like: The Jigglypuff glitch. The gap offers some mayhem.
What I don't like: Very large with walk offs.

5: Norfair

When it comes to stages, I don't always think about the hazards that if offers, I think about what I'm going to be playing on and five platforms placed in a V can be a little frustrating.

While I do admit the spraying lava back and forth does add to the mix well, it's really the layout of the stage that gets me.

What I like: The lava can be hazardous but a little fun.
What I don't like: That stage layout of a V.

4: New Pork City

The play on the name may be clever, but it doesn't make up for the fact that this stage is too freaking huge. I mean, I literally have to chase someone down after hitting them.

Let's not forget our friend, the Chimera, seen above. He'll be ready to eat you alive. And it doesn't even matter if you're playing as Ganondorf. He will still try to eat you.

What I like: I actually like the idea of the Chimera, strutting around with those large fangs. Makes for funny pictures in the vault.

What I don't like: It's too darn large... supposed to be a reference to the rent being too darn high.

Please keep in mind this is where I go a little bit crazy.
The last ones I could get my self around to playing on, but these just cross the line.

3: Rumble Falls

I will admit that the Melee counnterpart was kinda fun, but this stage will have you running the entire time instead of really fighting each other.

It's already bad enough the stage moves at a very fast pace, not to mention the occasional speed up, but it adds to the while things by adding random death spikes shoved up your butt and platforms you can't pass.

What I like: The music, Bramble Blast being another of one of my favorite in the soundtrack.
What I don't like: The speed of the stage and the hazards added on to it.

2: Mario Bros.

I don't even know where to begin with this... oh wait, yes I do. How about fact that the huge stage makes it hard to see everyone when the camera is panned all the way out and the annoying enemies that run by.

I will admit that Koopa does look good in the picture above, it still doesn't change the fact that the stage itself is pretty lifeless. Compared to Flat Zone, both stages have panned out cameras and hazards, but atleast Flat Zone 2 was interesting and unique. When it comes to Mario Bros., it's pretty dull.

What I like: Nothing really.
What I don't like: Lifeless and stage set up that's hard to get by.

1: 75M

When the stage starts, there's one thing that goes into my head. Donkey Kong has gone drunk and is going Ape S#** on everyone.

Yes, it's nothing but awkward platforms, killer fires, and whatever the heck those springs are. Don't forget the very large stage, dull stage with Donkey Kong butting in every now and then, as if he was breaking up a wedding. Also, everyone time I think about this stage, I feel like pulling my hair out. How about you?

What I like: At least we got see DK's bad side.
What I don't like: Pretty much everything about this stage.

...whew, now that that's out of the way, let's get on to my favorite stages.

Continued on next post.

Favorite Stages (Brawl exclusive):
Since Brawl has a ton of stages, I thought I'd do a list of including only the ones from that title and in no particular order.

: Distant Planet

Now you may be thinking, Distant Planet? Really?
But, come on! This stage is just too darn adorable. Doesn't everyone remember Pikmin 1 and 2?

I really enjoyed being Pikmin sized and fighting in this huge world. Let's not forget the music. "World Map Theme" is just too freaking cool. "Ai no Uta" is also pretty darn cool. Also, bulborb is a very nice touch.

: PictoChat

The first thing that comes to mind on this stage is creativity. It offers a lot of variety and I quite enjoy going from fighting on top of a whale to fighting on some trees.

I also love how to hazards are not overly done and unbalanced. It only adds the complete brawl package that we all have bargained for.

: Delfino Plaza

When I first saw this stage announced, I cried tears of joy... well, not really, but you get the point. Super Mario Sunshine still remains one of my favorite games of all time.

You get to fight across the plaza, seeing the different sights of the gorgeous area. I can't really think of anymore to say, but the stage itself really speaks for it self.

:Smashville

Shakespeare once said "He who explains the most in the least amount of words shows the most wit." And that is what exactly comes to mind when I think of Smashville. It has all the goodness of Animal Crossing smash all into a simple stage. From the towns people, characters like Tom Nook, the background, and even the sky with the constellations and more.

: Summit

This stage may be ridiculous, but it's ridiculous in a good way. It's fighting an ice berg that eventually breaks off, slides down the moutain, and floats in the water.

This is one of the stages where, for me, it's ridiculous, but in a positive way that people enjoy. That doesn't make any sense? Well, go and try the stage out!

: Wario Ware, Inc.

Two acronyms describe the stage very well. "LOL" and "ROFL". This place is just plain redonculous. You are fighting but at the same time you are completing micro games from the Wario Ware series.

I believe it's a very nice touch where it doesn't matter if you win. The stage itself is very enjoyable and the micro games are fun to complete in a Smash Bros style.

: Castle Siege

Since Hyrule 64, I've wanted another taste of a castle style stage and here it is. Kinda like Pokemon Stadium, this stage move into three different areas you can fight on.

I really like the environment of this stage. Set in the medieval times of Fire Emblem, which, for me, adds to the overall epicness of the stage. (If that's a real word)

And now for the final list.

My Favorite stages of all time:
This list brings stage from all three games, so you know this list is gonna be good.

10: Smashville (Brawl)
See above

9: Castle Siege (Brawl)
See above

8: PictoChat (Brawl)
See above

7: Poke Floats (Melee)

It may be that I'm a huge Pokemon nerd, but for some reason, I just really love this stage. Jumping from Pokemon to Pokemon while fighting. If you didn't know, I'm also a fan of moving stages.

6: Great Bay (Melee)

Now this is what a stage should be like. Simple, very nostalgic, epic music, and always something thrown in the mix. I just love the game "Majora's Mask", as well as the song and the Great Bay turtle making an appearance.

5: Rainbow Cruise (Melee)

I took me a while to warm up to this stage, but I love its use of platforms and Super Mario 64 nostalgia. It's very fun to start out on the boat then work your way to other parts of the lovable Rainbow Ride level from Super Mario 64

4: Delfino Plaza (Brawl)
See above

3: Wario Ware (Brawl)
See above

2: Pokemon Stadium (Melee)

Once again, another example of what a stage should be like. This stage takes me back to playing Pokemon and they way it turns to different stages based off of elements of the series is just way too cool. It's very simple to play on with a mix of a changing stages as simple hazards.

1: Mute City (Melee)

Last time I'll say this, another example of what a stage should be like. When ever I get the chance to pick a stage, I pick this stage about 20% out of the time of all the other stages. It's a mix of neutral stages with a plot of moving you to other areas of the race track. And the race cars are also a nice touch. Not to mention it's home turf of the most manliest character in the game, Captain Falcon, so you can expect some good gameplay, great fun, and epic music.

Well, there you have it. My list of stages throughout the Smash Bros. series. I would love to see others post there own.

Honorable Mentions:
: Hyrule Temple
: Fountain of Dreams

I find your lack of Fountain of Dreams in your favorites disturbing.

It really is a shame though that the stages with the best music (Onett, Brinstar Depths, Hyrule Temple in Melee; New Pork City, Rumble Falls, Port Town in Brawl) have the worst overall designs.

I agree with Stunna though.

This is a pretty legit blog, plus I don't think they allow "favorites" threads in other parts of the site.

everyone hates on new pork city. It's actually super faithful though to the area it is based off of in mother 3 with lots of easter eggs like the flying limo and stuff.
