Almost all Melee videos have the original music. What tournament videos have you been watching?..lol

Only a select few have the sound off.

Ones with Kirby.

Almost all Melee videos have the original music.
The ones I've seen still have sound, just not stage music. If that's true though, I'm a lot happier with the tournament community than I was.

I've still got my MP3 player full of Melee just incase :).

Just to reinforce what ChainAce said, stage music is most definitely left on.

if i listen to a song with a medium fast beat (115-130 bpm) that is really catchy and obvious, i always tend to screw up because my fingers are somehow influenced by the beat and then my techskill fails or i try to play along with the beat without even knowing...

Maybe your talking about videos uploaded by AJP? I know most of the videos he uploads of European matches almost never have stage music on.

It really depends , sometimes I go for like an hour with music, then turn it off. For me its more for the sake of video editing, I can put in whatever music when I make a combo video. But usually I don't at all mind the music since when i'm really concentrated I don't even notice it.

Dreamland is so loud, that nobody knows that there are other existing music tracks in this game. Even when playing at home.

I've watched other Kirby vids but those were the most recent.

I thought this was going to be about listening to an mp3 player during tournament matches.
Which I've seen people do.
I thought long and hard about what music I'd listen to while playing smash before finally coming to the conclusion that there would be no point in bringing an MP3 player to tournaments because I'd just end up listening to the melee soundtrack on it.

Gourmet Race is one of the best but that doesn't mean I don't listen to the others. The Starfox themes, the Yoshi's Story theme (both versions), Slider, the menu theme and that song that goes with the hammer are all amazing (unfortunately I rarely hear the last one since deciding to take smash seriously)

Sweden, they always turn it off. It somewhat annoys me actually.
This really annoys me. I will now never play in Sweden.

Though I rarely notice it while playing (same with wether rumble is on or not).
I'd definitely notice if it wasn't there. Things like that totally throw my game.

I also notice when I watch videos, but not while I play, doesn't really affect my game heh. I'm very quick at noticing if 50hz is on though ^x^

I love Melee's music. audio hacks for melee aren't really my taste, unless its that theme song from Megas XLR whenever I fight is going on that goes DUNNA DUN DUNA DUN DUNA DUN DUN DUN DUNA DUNA DUNA!

Sometimes I'll listen to hip hop from SHAD or Intuition and Verbs (homemadewaffles where you at) sometimes I listen to random stuff. but yeah, none-the-less Melee has amazing music, and it never deserves to be on mute.

How come this music manages to penetrate every conceivable barrier of sound?

everybody knows that at legitimate bigname tournaments they hack the stages and make it so no matter what stage you're on DL64 is always in the background
