I have noticed that a good amount of the videos I have been watching are really low quality. I decided to make this post to help those who are less technically inclined record there brawling.

This is how I record video. Post your method, questions, or comments.

Dogenzaka's method:
http://www.kworld.com.tw/product_overview.aspx?P_ID=241

Plug in your composite cables into the jacks, plug the USB port in your PC. Capture the video instantly. Got it at CompUSA.

Simple as that.

If you want to go all out and buy an HD capture card, however, that captures up to 1080p HDMI signals, get the BlackMagic card for $300.
Here is what I use

composite amplifier
http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2103065&cp=&sr=1&origkw=composite+amplifier&kw=composite+amplifier&parentPage=search

usb tv tuner with composite input (I couldn't find the one I have but this looks to do the same thing)
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0009JR4HE?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&tag=cnet-ce-20&linkCode=asn

Get 2 composite cables
http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2428720&cp=&pg=2&searchSort=TRUE&sr=1&y=12&retainProdsInSession=1&origkw=composite&s=A-StorePrice-RSK&x=19&kw=composite&parentPage=search

Next you just need to find software.
I use this because I works with my tuner, not sure if it would work with the one I linked to.
http://www.sharewareconnection.com/snappysoft.htm

Here is what you do basically:

Insert the wii's composite cables into the amplifiers composite input.

Take the 2 composite cables you bought and plug them into the outputs.

Take one and plug it into your tv

Take the other one and plug it into your tv tuner

Plug the usb tuner into your computer

Run the software

And thats it!

Using this method you can get high quality video that we all can enjoy!

Here is where to post your videos (ZOMG stage 6 is down?)
Two solutions for the YouTube crapness:

1. Don't use YouTube, use Stage6.
2. Wait for it.

Hope this helped someone out

The problem isn't usually the quality of video, but the huge quality drop most videos suffer after being uploaded to youtube. It seems to kill video quality pretty hard. It's done that with nearly every video I've updated.

Is there a CHEAPER way to do this?
That is the question now isn't it? I accumulated all of this stuff over time so it wasn't so bad for me, but if someone knows an easier way to do this PLEASE be my guest and post a solution.

Or you could do it the much cheaper, easier way.
K-World USB 2.0

Costs about $20-40

kworld is what i use to and its good. You can buy it at frys electornics.
Yep. Do you use the built in Ulead DVD Factory 4.0 factory? Or a different software? Just curious =P

I use the DVD Factory software usually. With the right codecs, it's great for getting a certain kind of quality/file-size.

Would you see the videos blurred (like on the tv) or pixelated (like on an emulator)?

I'd really like to know this...

All I know is, it hooks your console directly to the computer, views it on the theater software, and allows you to record high-quality clips, etc.

Does it allow to record at 60fps? (I think that Brawl can have that framerate).

I have a question. Let's say I bought that, but my PC is in a completely different room than my Wii and I don't have a laptop. What would I do? Sorry, I don't know much about recording videos.

Suggesting Composite over S-Video? Fail

If you split the signal, you can get a high quality MPEG2 encoder. If not, you need something that doesn't have much lag time.
These are good for live play+record on same signal
XCM V-BOX (It's a USB to Wii Adapter and runs on S-Video)
ATI USB HDTV Wonder 650 (600 works well too)
Adaptec Gamebridge that you guys were talking about

These are USB. Dazzle DVC 90 is good, if you use DScaler. I have one lying around but there's no support for x64 means I don't use it anymore.

My videos on Youtube use XCM V-Box. http://www.youtube.com/CLShortFuse

Svideo is better than composite but both are limited to 30fps. There are also PCI cards that can do full 480p 60fps via component or the D-Sub connection used in Japan.

I'm pretty sure that composite is good enough to record matches of the game, considering that uploading the video will already wreck what quality your better signal had.

Besides, composite tuners are a dime-a-dozen, and have really good delay recently as the technology matures.

Of course, I'm using VGA with my Wii, so take this with a grain of salt.

And all those composite only capture devices are old and crappy. There's 0 benefit to using composite over s-video and what modern day capture card doesn't take s-video?

I have a question.

So I have a camcorder and I have my TV and Wii... and I don't want to use my computer to capture video.

Can't I somehow split the video? Plug the output into my camcorder and TV with a male/female AV splitter cable?

That way I can record the footage directly onto my camcorder and still see the image and play the game on the TV?

I've really been wanting to know how to do this, and the only answers I've gotten were vague and didn't give any solution. Thanks for the links and the instructions!

You can get an S-Video splitter at Radioshack. That's where I got mine. Or you can order one cheap from monoprice.com

By the way, there are ways to record Component with a composite video capture device. Basically, you plug in RGB in to YWR composite connections and use some software to capture the 3 seperate streams. if you want audio, you can use an RCA to 1/8" adapter and use line-in.

My only question is where is a cheaper composite splitter. That is cheaper than all of the ones I have seen, can you not buy a 1 to 2 splitter? The smallest I have seen in 1 to 4.

I'd use S-Video or component, but I don't have the output for Wii in S-video and component amplifiers are like $100 at the cheapest. I figure composite will be fine for replaying recordings. It's better than a blurry image from a moving camera at least.

Edit: Found this one http://www.summitsource.com/antenna...-viewing-permacolor-part-10g203-p-6054.html?=

Although I can't say I've heard of the company or the site selling it.
