Mario & Sonic Guy
Old rivalries live on!
I was recently able to recreate the Rosalina sprite that was on one of the images from several pages back.

She says "That'll do!", or "Not bad!".Thanks! :D
I always thought she Said '' Leeeets Go'' but during a highlight , i listened carefully and she didn't say that at all.
Also the quote for the 2nd-6th place ... does anybody knows? lol
She says something like ''Yabadoo'' , lol
You are amazing! i love the background music you used.Kay. Here's the video. @ Swiftie_Muggle I don't have the audio from the game directly. I meant I have the sound from an uploaded video. I replaced Rosalina's voice from MKW.
Finding a song that fit Grumble Volcano and Rosalina was tricky, but it works well. The heavy parts in the beginning and the tense piano part in the end. By the way, the Piranha that bite me was in tune with the beat of the music. :3
Here's some other videos I had before.
Here's a terrible mishap with a hidden banana. I thought hitting the side of the eel itself is what cause me to spin out. I almost thought it was a glitch too. Turns out I was wrong.
Thanks! I even surprised myself on how well the song fits. I wonder what everybody else thinks about the song. You are amazing! i love the background music you used.
Also , it fits quite well i miss that echo so much.
Song wasn't really my cup of tea but it fits well enough. Thanks! I even surprised myself on how well the song fits. I wonder what everybody else thinks about the song.
What do you guys think? Did the song fit well? Did Rosalina's audio sound good?
Yeah i agree ,While Mercedes voice is amazing , there's something about the Wii's sound quality that just a bit off when it comes to the Wii U.Song wasn't really my cup of tea but it fits well enough.
Rosalina's old voice clips sounds a bit weird to me now though, at least when put with MK8, probably just because the audio quality is lower. I'm sure Rosalina's echo will sound even more amazing with the Wii U's better audio quality.
She still sounds lower pitched even when she's happy.Yeah i agree ,While Mercedes voice is amazing , there's something about the Wii's sound quality that just a bit off when it comes to the Wii U.
Also , while i like both voices , i think i'm getting used to her new voice. But it kinda pisses me off that Laura makes her super happy When she CAN do a lower voice (I have listened some of her other performances and she sounds waaaay better)
I'm guessing you didn't really like the beginning of the song, or maybe the song in general. I think part of why it works though is because the piano part could fit Rosalina when she's in an intense situation or environment (Grumble Volcano), however, the piano part doesn't fit the track well, but the tenseness of it makes up for it a bit. The beginning fits the track, but not Rosalina since that type of music wouldn't fit her at all. Overall, the song conflicts with itself because of two conflicting issues, Rosalina and Grumble Volcano; they don't fit together.Song wasn't really my cup of tea but it fits well enough.

You're both right about the audio quality. I took Rosalina's voice clips directly from Mario Kart Wii's files. All of the voices and sfx are very low quality. They're all mono, and their hertz are 16000Hz, which is very low quality.Yeah i agree ,While Mercedes voice is amazing , there's something about the Wii's sound quality that just a bit off when it comes to the Wii U.
She was happy before , but her happiness was portrayed in a realistic way , since not all the people in the world are Happy-Go-Lucky like the rest of the Mario characters. She showed a realistic amount of happiness everytime she laughted in MKWii and SMG , And even MK7/MGWT. Her aura emanated a motherly and comfortable feeling eveytime she giggled softly , which was trademark for Rosalina since even in MK7 she giggled softly when you choose her , now is more like something you'd expect from another Character from the Mario cast , she doesn't giggle anymore and sounds more like a ''daughter'' than like a ''mother''.She still sounds lower pitched even when she's happy.
I don't get this opposition people have to Rosalina sounding happy. Personally, I would rather see my favourite video game characters with an air of positivism about them. Rosalina is reserved, but she's not supposed to be dry.
So you're saying she sounds unrealistically excited when jumping off waterfalls against gravity while driving a quadbike and doing a back flip as she spins said quadbike? She was happy before , but her happiness was portrayed in a realistic way , since not all the people in the world are Happy-Go-Lucky like the rest of the Mario characters. Pls , let's not take this to the next level (Again)So you're saying she sounds unrealistically excited when jumping off waterfalls against gravity while driving a quadbike and doing a back flip as she spins said quadbike?
Dude, I'd argue she doesn't sound thrilled enough.
But she sounds just like an adult.Pls , let's not take this to the next level (Again)
Also , it's not that , its just way too high pitched.
If anyones Mother was playable in this game and had Rosalina's voice , i'd think she is on a age crisis.
Rosalina is supposed to be the closest thing we get to an ''adult'' in these games , not one of the bunch.
Mario? an adult voice? I don't believe this. I understand Wario but Mario? nope , and the thing is he is suppoused to be Child-friendly so it fits. But she sounds just like an adult.
She sounds like someone in her mid 20s, which is how she should sound. It's how Mercedes sounded, and it's how she looks.
Peach and Daisy sound 17 at most.
And Mario, Luigi and Wario have always had perfectly adult voices, especially the latter two.
That's a nice story. What if Bowser stole Rosalina's shadow, and turned it evil? The Evil Rosalina would overpower and disobey Bowser, and she'd set her eyes on destroying everything in her path, eliminating Rosalina, the Lumas, and the Comet Observatory as her ultimate goal of destruction. The only thing stopping the Evil Rosalina from turning everything into dust are the Grand Stars + The Comet Observatory's core.
It's just an idea and it doesn't have to be an evil shadow Rosalina, cuz that'd be kinda cliché. *cough* Sonic and Shadow *cough*
I wanna do one too. I have good editing skills and I have the direct voice clips of Rosalina from MK8. I'll make 2 videos to make it sound right (music only and sound only).
Mario's voice is just classic.Mario? an adult voice? I don't believe this. I understand Wario but Mario? nope , and the thing is he is suppoused to be Child-friendly so it fits.
Luigi on the ther hand HAD an adult voice , just listen To MK64 , he sounds way more mature than Mario.
Now he sounds significantly higher to fit his new , scary cat personality.
As For Peach and Daisy , well they sound right to fit their personalities ; High pitched but different to each other.
Rosalina , is supposed to break the steretype between these to Princesses ; And she succeded in MKWii , and While she sounds alright in MK8 , she is closer to a Girly and Happy Go Lucky voice than she EVER was , which kinda ''fits'' for the game , BUT not for her character since she is not like Peach or Daisy , or at least she wasn't.
Yeah, it is a bit sad to not see her motherly nature cuz she didn't have a Luma on her side since MK Wii, so want to see Luma back.Mario does have an adult voice. He's just jolly. Think of someone like Robin Williams - had a very jolly and happy tone of voice most of the time, but it still sounded like an adult. Luigi has also been sounding quite a bit older lately.
I'm uploading time trials now that both have no music, and went out of my way to get voice clips for Rosalina and Peach. The difference is like night and day. Yes, Rosalina sounds excited, but who wouldn't while driving around Toad Harbour? Her voice works fine for her character.
It kind of bothers me that people want Rosalina to be this one dimensional, depressed mother Mary Sue, when she's never been that. She's fairly reserved and monotone most of the time, but she can show emotion, and can be excited and happy. The fact she can display many layered emotions is what sets her apart from other Mario characters.
Her motherly and caring nature is not all that defines her character, and I wouldn't care for her character if it was. It's a prominent part of her character, sure, but she's not one dimensional, she's not just "the soccer mom" or anything like that. Not only that, but I don't see why her motherly nature would even come into play on the racetrack. Especially since her Mario Kart 8 bio states:
"This cosmic guardian is definitely made of star stuff, and isn’t afraid to cut loose on the track. Being a heavyweight, she can toss aside a surprising number of rival racers in pursuit of victory!"
Except that Rosalina's former personality was an unique feature in the Mario universe. And the ''one'' dimensional argument does not work , when they FORGET her original personality and reemplaced with generic personality traits for a MARIO CHARACTER.Mario does have an adult voice. You can say that again, now she is just an original female in MK8.Except that Rosalina's former personality was an unique feature in the Mario universe. And the ''one'' dimensional argument does not work , when they FORGET her original personality and reemplaced with generic personality traits for a MARIO CHARACTER.
It's not like they are focusing on all the aspects of what she truly is , rather, they decided to Make her more like Mario or Peach or Yoshi , or whatever which is sad since she is not unique anymore , she is just Mario character now.
But anyway , Mario characters aren't suppoused to stand out by their unique traits or personalities since they all share the same features , and sadly Rosalina was the exception until now.

Her VOICE IS. Nobody would deny this with a straight face .Rosalina is not "Peachy" in this game.
Well I am.Her VOICE IS. Nobody would deny this with a straight face .
Rosalina NEVER said ''Wheeeeee'' IN ANY MARIO KART just , ''Whoo'' at most .
''Wheeee'' is something you would Hear from PEACH , not even Daisy says ''Wheee''.
Her Voice is Peachy since , while is not IDENTICAL to Peach's , it stays significantly close to her behavior. Peachy in this context means extremely DITZY AND GIRLY , something that is off-character compared to MKWii or even MK7 (Kerri NEVER said anything that sounded DITZY , even when she sounded unfitting sometimes ).
Also her ''Whooohoooo'' is super out of character and her ''Yahoooo'' sounds super awful , almost like her voice is cracking.
This is too funny.Well I am.
Daisy does in fact, say "Wheeee".
Rosalina is not ditzy (i.e. silly and scatterbrained) and girly. She simply sounds feminine (like she always has), and when making jumps, she sounds exhilarated, like she's enjoying it. As stated in her bios, she is fond of racing and high speed thrills. Hence, she sounds excited when she's participating in such.
Her "Whoooohoooo" is not super out of character, Mercedes did that too, as well as "Yahooo". And it doesn't sound like her voice is cracking at all.
The difference between Peach and Rosalina's general demeanour in Mario Kart and 3D World is that Peach sounds surprised whenever she wins, as if a "dumb blonde girl" winning a race is surprising even to her. She doesn't say anything that seems assertive and doesn't say anything particularly confident. She's simply there to enjoy a race.
Rosalina on the other hand, is in it to win it. In 3D World, when she wins in multiplayer, she says "That's right!", as if her victory is expected (as opposed to the surprised Peach saying "Well I'll be"). When she wins in Mario Kart 8, she simply proudly announces her victory (while Peach gets giddy and excited). However, despite Rosalina's competitive nature, she retains a degree of her sweet, reserved side. Unlike most characters, she doesn't throw a tantrum or whine when she loses, she simply expresses a genuine, solemn disappointment in herself (again, much like Mercedes did in MKWii), not acting as if anyone else had anything to do with it, and that it was her own fault. When she passes someone, she says her phrases softly, so not to come across as rude (unlike Peach, who will scream in their face).
She only is particularly excited when she does tricks or boosts, but so did her other two actresses. And that's fine, because who wouldn't sound like that? It's appropriate for the action she's performing, especially since she's supposed to be a bit more normal in Mario Kart.
Peach sounds sweet and stereotypical , while Daisy sounds way too obnoxious and Rosalina sounds really really awkward , like a mix of Elsa with a random valley girl.Yeah, Laura does a fine job doing it.
She sounds high pitched at times, but even then she sounds so full of life and is something even Mercedes who I generally prefer didn't sound like often.
Peach sounds like she has a fake voice, Rosalina's voice sounds real.
You and me both. @ Swiftie_Muggle and @ ChikoLad , please end the voice acting arguments, as they're getting very annoying now.I think we're taking this voice thing out of proportion. Can we come to an agreement already?
Here's how I see it. Rosalina can have a very feminine voice, cuz she's a woman, and because she's a woman her voice can have a higher pitch depending on what she's doing. Whether it be Golf or Karting, her voice can fluctuate. Rosalina's shown to have attributes that have a ranges to them, like being ambidextrous with her left and right, or her attitude being appropriate for certain games, like Golf, Racing, Platforming, or Fighting. Rosalina can be inconsistent with her voice actors and how she's presented. In my eyes, she's being "Nintendo-fied" or "Mario-fied", becoming a common character in the eyes of children and adults, and there's nothing we can do about it. Nintendo does what ever they want with her.
I don't know what else to say at the moment, but please @ Swiftie_Muggle and @ ChikoLad , come to some sort of conclusion. It's getting quite tiresome.
Conclusion. You and me both. @ Swiftie_Muggle and @ ChikoLad , please end the voice acting arguments, as they're getting very annoying now.

I'm a Mario main so the first character I used was Mario. I can get the hang of 3ds at first but now I rock!Rosalina's Moveset in Japanese ; Flawless as Always , Would she be Top Tier? Who knows?
Yeah, kind of awful that you can see her but can not use her.Rosalina & Luma , as seen selected in the demo (just selected , you cannot see the recolors)

One could hope. Anyway, judging by that image, there apparently isn't an option to use the directional pad. A wobbly Circle Pad would not be a good sign at all.Rosalina's Moveset in Japanese ; Flawless as Always , Would she be Top Tier? Who knows?
It might be possible if we can change controls again like in Brawl, we don't know what is in the Options submenu. I hope so because I hate tap jump. The Circle Pad is quite terrible, but I'll get used to it.One could hope. Anyway, judging by that image, there apparently isn't an option to use the directional pad. Yeah, even Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D offered the option to use the directional pad. Taunts could just be made by a single button (just like with Brawl and the solo Wii Remote control scheme), and what taunt you do would be determined by the direction that you're holding the directional pad.It might be possible if we can change controls again like in Brawl, we don't know what is in the Options submenu. Actually in MK8 instruction Booklet , the D-Pad isn't listed as an option for movement , HOWEVER you can actually use it to move in the game instead of the analog stick. So maybe is like that ; it's just not listed there. One could hope. Anyway, judging by that image, there apparently isn't an option to use the directional pad.
