It's not Kerri Kane, they are new ones recorded by Laura Faye Smith. She just has an echo now.

I'd know if it was Kerri Kane because I have played quite a bit of MK7 and that annoying take on her is drilled into my head. She has more emotion in Smash 4.

But some of the voice clips are from Kerri Kane since she says ''Woo!'' like In MKGolf World Tour and i just watched new footage and one of her K.O. Screams is the same as when you fall of the track in MK7 , that's why i think that.

They just sound similar, but you can here the difference if you listen closely. It's just difficult as there is not a lot of clean footage of her.

Umm ... maybe , but i'd still trust my gut for now since i noticed that they have been Re-using her voice lately and whenever i told somebody on the wiki it was Kerri they did not believe it XD even when it was really obvious.

I'm contemplating switching my secondary from Zelda to Rosalina when the game comes out, but my experience using Rosalina at Smashfest was... underwhelming. I think her physics made me try too hard to play her like Zelda, when clearly she's an entirely different kind of character.

Any suggestions from other Zelda players in the thread? I know a three minute match and some single-player Smash Run are hardly indicative of how a character plays, but nothing... *clicked*. I wasn't connecting with anything, ever.

I'm bent on maining Rosalina (Even if I was supporting Toad lol, she IS my favorite female Mario character)

Thats why im saying , ''i hope'' , I know my opinions are not facts , but you know what? You don't need to sound so rude , because it's hilarious.

If her current voice stays it's fine , i don't have a problem with it since i liked it in SM3D world , but i don't need anybody saying that my opinion does not count ... Nintendo does whatever they feel to do.

Thats why they reemplaced Mercedes for no Reason , then hire Kerri ; then she left , then Laura Came in , and then they still reuse Kerri's voice in MK arcade GPDX and Mario Golf World Tour.

people these days ... i don't need to be mean to anyone to make my points.

Since Rosalina's reveal trailer (way before MK8) SHE HAD NO VOICE in Smash Wii U

After Mario Kart 8 trailer WITH Rosalina showing her Voice , where they recorded lines with Laura Faye Smith , the way it was supposed to since she is the current VA , MKGolf World Tour DLC with Rosalina came with gameplay .... and I was just amazed that they reused Kerri Kane's voice when Laura pretty much confirmed her return as the voice for her. MK Arcade GPDX is an exception since when Rosalina was announced as a DLC character , there were no MK8 lines and of course they reused the ones of MK7 , the same way they keep reusing Jen Taylor's voice for Peach in all those Japanese arcade games.

Clearly , Laura Faye Smith has voiced the character TWICE ( SM3DWorld , MK8) While Mercedes and Kerri only voiced her ONCE , Mercedes voiced her in Mario Galaxy and they reused the clips in part 2 and MKWii ; While Kerri voiced her only in MK7 And they reused her voice in MKGolf World Tour and MK Arcade GPDX ; and One of my points is that , They are clearly reusing Kerri's voice for Rosalina's gameplay in smash.

b) She is the current actress, not Kerri Kane anymore.

I'm certainly kinda confused with Why they keep going back and forth with Her Voice ... i'ts getting unconsistent...

I'm fairly certain they didn't reuse Mercedes for Mario Kart Wii but instead recorded new voices from her.

Oh okay. I was sure that it was Laura, but you proved me wrong hahaha. Kudos to you. I can see the true devotion that you put into Rosalina as a character.

Thank You , i really like the character and somehow whenever i like something in particular i like to get plenty of information about it ... idk i'm just like that :) haha.

Also, you're post doesn't actually confirm that it's Kerri Kane's clips in the E3 Smash demo. You simply recapped on where Kerri Kane's voices were used in the past. Those clips sound like new Laura voice clips in the E3 Smash demo, complete with an echo, to me. Which naturally makes her sound more like both Mercedes and Kerri than she usually does.

I'm just gonna say that anybody with good volume quality on the computer and has played both MK7/MGWorld Tour A LOT with ROSALINA , can easily notice this , that's why i posted the videos before , those are proof , and some users agree with me , even if they liked one VA over the other , since thats not the point.

I have an Astro Gaming A30 Headset and I have played MK7 a lot lately, as Rosalina. I'm still not hearing Kerri Kane.

Haha! Oh well , you are free to believe whatever you want, since it doesn't matter because this subject is not important or something really relevant XD

The videos are enough proof to me , and the clips are problably place holders anyway so yeah , not big deal .

Mercedes recorded her lines for both Galaxy and Mario Kart Wii in one session. I'm sure she was told she would voice her for both games since she was already planned for Mario Kart Wii.

I went to the LA demo a ways back and played a bunch of Rosaluma while there (befriended the guy running the booth who was super chill). As a former IC main until he is confirmed Rosaluma is the clear coolest character addition! Play her in MK8 also.

I'm going to be at the Comic Con play through as well and feel the need to shoe what Rosa can do so hit me up with any questions or wants you would have me look into for her. HOPING FOR THE TRILL RED AND WHITE OUTFIT!
please explore when you can or cannot control luma.
Can you control Luma during hitstun?
Can you control Luma while rolling from the ledge?
Can you control Luma while recovering from upB?
Can you control Luma while throwing for a free combo?
Do they need to be desynced in these situations first?

I'll look into all of this but something that I have been wondering also is can you actually even Desync Rosaluma?

I mean this in the way that Ice Climbers could desync where one could do a move while the other did nothing. I think exploring the level of control during hitstun and other things like dodging and sheilding (things Luma cannot do) will help to see this potential (atleast in this build of the game which is a HUGE cavaet).

One thing I've been very curious about and didn't think to do during my first play through was to Shield with Rosa and then Side B with Luma. The reason I think this may not work is because Rosa has that animation with her wand while Luma "Spits the Bits" (Trademark ;) ) so both animation might need to occur for the move to take place.

Luma's A moves are where I think the "desyncing" can have the most potential (what I mean by that is Luma attacking while Rosa is grabbing/grab jabbing/Sheilding/rolling/helplessfalling/etc).

I'm hoping there will be an opportunity for some 1v1 there (though I doubt it) so I can try out the grab combo potential (Really want to see if you can get something in the vein of grab-jab-release-> Luma side B reset -> grab). Luma's moves seem to cause a bit more knockback overall so side B seems like the safest combo ready move provided Luma can do it without Rosa needing to perform her animation.

Can anyone think of another Luma move that has low knockback and could function as a reset move? For that matter do we even have a list of Luma's attacks? Jab combo/tilts/smashes/aerials?

I've been curious about throwing luma off stage at ledge height, then "ledge strealing" a recovering player and comboing them into luma.

Edit: I guess by "synced" I just meant next to each other

Trying to use the Luma from a distance can be tricky though, since it'll become independent during that time. Sure, you can still command the Luma attacks, but it'll move around freely otherwise, until Rosalina calls it back.

Down tilt seems like a good option for this is you can keep pressing it in rhythm. Something else I'll try and test I suppose.

I feel like a big part of their gameplay is going to be figuring out the Luma movement patterns when not called back actively by Rosa.

Yeah in a free-for-all bout, maintaining your Luma does become more important when you have fighters trying to attack you from either direction. Keeping the Luma close would at least help Rosalina reduce some pressure, depending on her adversaries.

Not that this isn't true for every character in some respect but I feel like the Rosaluma style of play between 1 V 1 and Free for all is going to be CRAZY different. Feels like in free for all you want that Luma super close where as in 1 V 1 it'll all be about the placement of the Luma away from Rosa (think almost like Zelda in Project M with the side B).

Just cannot wait to delve deep into her style of play!

Yeah, I can see Rosalina being a MAJOR threat on 1v1. In 2v2, if both of the players are Rosalina, it might get a bit confusing.

Obviously, if Team Attack is active, Rosalina's teammate would have to stay behind her to avoid being in the Luma's crossfire. The teammate could even act like Rosalina's bodyguard, while she's taking care of one of the opposing players.

Haven't been here in a while. Here's a deep thought. I was thinking maybe since Rosalina got in Smash, they'd add her to Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games for once. I know it sounds too early to speculate that, but still, it would be nice.
