More evidence for extra 3rd party characters?

i think theres gotta be more than 3 3rd party characters. i mean, if you were a game producer, wouldnt you beg (much like the guy did for Snake) for your big character, not limited to 3rd party, to be in it? this game is going to be huge and it will score your series alot of publicity (look at fire emblem with melee) which means more people buying your game and more money in your pocket.

i know if i was in that position, id be on my knees begging for my lead character to be in the game. much like snake, the actual game's producers could create their brawl version and make it even easier on sakurai this with the push back release dates gives sakurai time and resources to do whatever he wants, plus some.

if you look at the only reason why sakurai is making brawl in the first place its because the Zelda creater guy told him he has to do it. The game producers are on brawl's side and they know its good for everyone if their chracter is in this game. of course this is all speculation, but its no question that alot as changed since sakurai supposedly made the 2-3 3rd party statement a million years ago (in modern technology years)

So finally, confirmation of extra third party characters, excluding Snake.

A guy at SRK went to a media training event for the holidays in Anaheim from the 24th through the 27th. This guy talked to a bunch of reps and managed to get info from a Nintendo representative confirming that there would be multiple characters from outside of Nintendo in Brawl. Another good piece of news is that Nintendo plans to have a trade show in October where Brawl will be playable.

Now most people will probably respond with "that's fake lolz" but this guy is a very well respected member of SRK and his primary interest in the SRK community isn't even Smash, so he has nothing to gain from lying about it. As another bonus, he has pictures of everything he claims to have obtained from the training event.

So all I can say is, this news makes me happy in the pants. I have been skeptical of all the news we've received about third party characters so far, but this seems to be 100% legit to me.

I can't freaking wait to find out who these other characters are. My bet's on Sonic for sure, but anyone else will be a pleasant surprise.

Oh, if Sakurai made Geno into an assist trophy about half of this community is gonna be PISSED. It would be one thing not to see Geno in the game; it's another thing entirely to put him in the game and then make him unplayable. I'd rather NOT see Geno than see him as an A.T.

As far as I can see, this person is telling the truth... he seems to be a pretty notable member of a huge and famous forum, and the photos with all of the stuff he has acquired makes him pretty trustworthy, especially as the NBA cover actually has him on it!

Not only that, but SRK isn't into Smash Brothers as much as this place is, so there would be nothing to gain at all by just telling everyone the not-too-extreme rumor of some more 3rd Party characters being in Brawl! I mean, Sakurai even said this himself, did he not?

It seems very credible and believeable. We already know that Nintendo is supposed to have another "event" next Tuesday and E4All is coming up soon (it may even be this month, I don't remember). My guesses for the third party characters were Snake, Sonic, and Megaman. This news seems to fit my guess, and there may even be additional characters. There is one thing I know for sure: we are almost guarenteed some juicy Brawl news this month. Between the possible conferences this month and Nintendo Power previewing the game, we almost have to see something new.

Okay, but, here are some good reasons to enforce the credibility of this source:

1. The guy is a respected member of SRK.
2. SRK doesn't care about Brawl as much as SWF, so why would he want to trick people that don't even care?
3. All of the things he claimed he's gotten at the event he has picture evidence to back up.

If those people who have friends who "work at Nintendo" can get their friends to have some real proof (like this guy does), then I'll believe them. That's exactly why this guy is different from all of those "lolz my frend workz @ nintndo" people. He has proof.

2. SRK is mostly about other fighting games. There is a section devoted to smash, but most of the people who go there talk about Guilty Gear, Tekken, MvC, and whatever other fighting games there are there. He was just posting all of the info he got, which happened to include stuff about Brawl, not because anyone cared much (except for like 5 members), but because it was new (reliable) info. Check out the topic he posted in. Almost nobody even comments on the Brawl info he posted. Why? They don't care.

3. He doesn't have pictures of third party characters, but he has pictures that prove that he was there and that his story is reliable. Besides, all he was told was that there'd be extra characters, not which ones. What kind of picture do you want? There's no way to actually take a good picture of someone telling you something. He could have taken a picture of the Nintendo rep. (which would have been an awkward thing to do in the middle of a conversation), but you'd probably look at it and go "omg gtfo fake" anyways, so what's the use?

4. The quote by Sakurai saying there would be additional third party characters was a translation, and therefore not necessarily accurate (since it wasn't a direct translation). People have taken his quotes and misinterpreted and mistranslated them many times. This came from someone who works for Nintendo and speaks English. It's a more reliable quote, not a crappy translation by someone who just started learning Japanese and thinks they're hot stuff. In addition to that, there's the announcement of a playable demo at an upcoming event, information which wasn't widely circulated. So maybe you didn't learn something new since you seem to know everything, but I'm sure there are people out there who didn't. It was a joke. I was making the point that being a respected member of a forum means nothing. Granted, I would be much more likely to listen in to what Gideon had to say over some member who joined in the last 30 days with under 100 posts, but it would still require proof.

And Sonic was supposedly confirmed in some Spanish magazine. The nature of the forum does not increase the credibility of the statement.

You show me one instance where people shouted GTFO at a picture that turned out to be true relating to Brawl. I believe that this guy really went on this trip and heard rumors about Brawl, but having worked at Best Buy myself, I highly doubt Nintendo would feed secret information to them of all people.

Well, thank you, gracious sir, for spreading around information to those who had not heard yet. Regardless, this confirms nothing and only feeds the speculation fire relating to 3rd party characters. You see this stuff as hard evidence, yet the thread title reads "possibly confirmed" (with 'possibly' misspelled, I might add).
