More evidence for extra 3rd party characters?

It was a joke. I was making the point that being a respected member of a forum means nothing. Granted, I would be much more likely to listen in to what Gideon had to say over some member who joined in the last 30 days with under 100 posts, but it would still require proof.

And Sonic was supposedly confirmed in some Spanish magazine. The nature of the forum does not increase the credibility of the statement.

You show me one instance where people shouted GTFO at a picture that turned out to be true relating to Brawl. I believe that this guy really went on this trip and heard rumors about Brawl, but having worked at Best Buy myself, I highly doubt Nintendo would feed secret information to them of all people.

Well, thank you, gracious sir, for spreading around information to those who had not heard yet. Regardless, this confirms nothing and only feeds the speculation fire relating to 3rd party characters. You see this stuff as hard evidence, yet the thread title reads "possibly confirmed" (with 'possibly' misspelled, I might add).

Why would you even trust a Spanish magazine about Brawl info? Japan gets the info first, then the U.S., then the rest of the world. It goes from the market of origin to the next largest market and so on down the list. Why would Spain get info before us?

My point about the picture was that if he took a picture of the representative, people would most likely just ignore it and say it's just some random person that has nothing to do with Nintendo.

Third and most important since you seem to have ignored this point twice before...I did not misspell "possibly." The original title was "Extra 3rd party characters confirmed." Someone edited my post title and ****ed it up, making me look like an illiterate ****** in the process.

We'll all find out in the next few weeks I guess. October has just begun, so there'll either be an event around the 10th (the rumored Japanese conference) or we'll end up having to wait for E for All, which we know is going to happen (and we know Nintendo is signed up as one of the primary exhibitors). You and I arguing is pointless since we're both fairly stubborn. Let's just drop it for now. At the end of October, the person who's right can have bragging rights?

Again, that was another example of false logic. You are right. Spain would never receive that knowledge before us. So, why is a Best Buy media supervisor receiving "secret" knowledge before us?

But my point is that some words randomly spoken to some guy in some corner of the earth is unofficial. Why doesn't Nintendo do a press release? Why are they telling some guy who works retail? It is probably so they can withdraw the statement and suffer no damage to their reputation. Reggie tells Nintendo fans stuff all the time in public, and some of it never comes true.

Do you have a gnome running around your house? The first post makes no mention of ever being edited. When a mod edits your post (which they never do here), it indicates so at the bottom of the post. Regardless, you know you can edit the thread title, right? Just fix it!

He's a supervisor. Higher level managers and supervisors usually have to go to things like this all the time. They introduce new products/games to them so they know what to expect in the next couple of months. They get things before everyone else because they have to know what their stores are going to sell before the general public does. Spain isn't going to be getting Brawl until after the U.S. does, so why should they go to Spain and give them information before giving it to the U.S.?

I never edited the first post myself, nor do I know how to edit the title. All I know is, "posibly" wasn't in the original name. I've been looking around trying to figure out how to edit the title, but I rarely post on SWF, and when I do, I usually don't make topics of my own. This is probably my second one I've made so far. If you could tell me how to go about changing it, I'd gladly do it.

I know you weren't saying he was lying, but you are saying that this is unreliable information, whereas I'm saying it's not. The "being right" had to do with only that and nothing else. And yeah, it probably would have been a better idea to have named the topic something along the lines of "more evidence for additional third party characters." I guess I should have done that instead, even if this may seem as undeniable proof to me. As soon as I find out how to change the title, I'll change it to something a little less biased.

I was just pointing out that him happening to be right makes no less correct. If I were go guess that today's update were Lucas before it happened, would that make me a reliable source? I'm just pointing out that we hear this stuff all the time, and it is getting old.

To edit the thread title, simply click EDIT. When the in-post form comes up, click the button that says "Go Advanced". In the advanced editor, you should be able to edit the title as well.

I believe this guy, and I think that there will be more than 3 3rd party characters in brawl.

My theory backing this is that when sakurai announced the "3rd party character limit", hundreds of game developers rushed in, wanting their 3rd party character to be in brawl, so sakurai increased the number of characters to meet the needs of these developers. Also, many of the musicians for brawl are from 3rd party franchises, and they probably wouldn't be there if there wasn't a character representing them in brawl! So, I believe that there are now AT LEAST 5-6 3rd party characters in brawl.

And, as a side note, I think it would be cool if a wanted playable character was announced as an AT, because it would make a lot of people unhappy, and I thrive on the misfortune of others lol.
