More evidence for extra 3rd party characters?

So finally, confirmation of extra third party characters, excluding Snake.

A guy at SRK went to a media training event for the holidays in Anaheim from the 24th through the 27th. This guy talked to a bunch of reps and managed to get info from a Nintendo representative confirming that there would be multiple characters from outside of Nintendo in Brawl. Another good piece of news is that Nintendo plans to have a trade show in October where Brawl will be playable.

Now most people will probably respond with "that's fake lolz" but this guy is a very well respected member of SRK and his primary interest in the SRK community isn't even Smash, so he has nothing to gain from lying about it. As another bonus, he has pictures of everything he claims to have obtained from the training event.

So all I can say is, this news makes me happy in the pants. I have been skeptical of all the news we've received about third party characters so far, but this seems to be 100% legit to me.

I can't freaking wait to find out who these other characters are. My bet's on Sonic for sure, but anyone else will be a pleasant surprise.

I don't possibly see how it couldn't be true. This kid has absolutely nothing to gain from lying since SRK isn't even a Brawl forum really. Notice how nobody even cared to mention Brawl. That isn't necessarily true. Before Melee officially came out, Nintendo held a small video game convention in New York City where Melee was playable. In this playable "demo" (in retrospect, it might have been the actual game) only the default unlocked characters were playable (Peach, Ness, Mario, etc) along with the default stages to play on. The game basically was exactly as it would've been if you just purchased Melee and turned it on for the first time.

Even with pretty solid proof and all that good stuff, people still don't believe. I'm willing to bet anything that this will happen (the Nintendo event with a playable Brawl and the extra third party characters).

As for the Nintendo conference rumor being on the 10th of October...well that makes me even happier. Hopefully it's true and the date is accurate. We'll find out in a couple of days I guess.
