basically a thread about using heavy brawl as the standard of competitive play, since it is closer to melee.

but never mind it, it makes several chars unplayable

try to recover with link or ganondorf, its too hard. he can get gimped so easily. sonic's upB barely works. and snakes seems to be the same giving him the best recovery

Everytime I go at a new guy's house to play melee I always tell them how I play; 4 stock with no items, random stage.

4 stock because 5 is too long, 3 is too short
no items because of the potential randomness and stuff
random stage also to remove randomness of the lame stages like brinstar depth.

I don't think that we could add "let's play on heavy brawl because it looks like melee"... If you want to play something that looks like melee, play Super Smash Bros Melee, thanks.
