Well, look, June 17th, people aren't done with school.
June 24th, St-Jean Baptiste, and some people told me they couldn't.
July 1st, Canada Day.
July 8th, one week before FC6.

Obviously, 17th is crossed out, and so is July 8th. I think June 24th is bad because of all the celebrations going on in the province on the same day. It might sound bad, but I don't see why we should choose another day, and shoot ourselves in the foot for 5 people. But the choice of date is in nox's hands.

As bad as it's gonna be for some people , I think the date that'll affect the turnout the least in montreal and it's surrounding is July 1st. We can't do better than that . Most people are gonna be busy on June 24th here , who's gonna fill the spots then ? Out of towners ? FC6 is a big thing and I don't think people's wallets need to be ***** so bad. July 1st .

I agree wholeheartedly with PKM. I think June 24th will be a better date. How about this: start the tournament earlier than planned (say...9 AM?) and finish whenever it needs to be finished. Then all the crazy Montrealers can go around getting drunk and pissing themselves. Hell, wouldn't the 24th be better for out of towners because then us montrealers can show them a good time too?

I think July 1st is like the worst date possible. Not for me, of course, but for many others.

EDIT: Think about it, June 24 is bad because a couple Montrealers want to get drunk and party, whereas July 1st is bad because many people inside and outside of the province cannot attend due to family issues, therefore lessening the competition to a larger degree? Unless the people who cannot make it on the 24th are important competitors and/or they have very good reasons for not coming (like something other than 'OMGZ need 2 party so baaad!'), I think the 24th is better.

This will be my last Canada day with most of my high school friends, but **** I want to attend another tournament..I'll probably do both and not sleep. Whatever chet just pick a date and we'll all decide.

jvois pas pourquoi le 17 serait un problème. Ottawa cétait bin durant lécole mais la différence avec le tournoi de montreal c pour ceux qui vont au secondaire ils leur restent 2-3 examen a faire. Une journée de moins pour étudié c pas un drame pis de toute facon qui étudirait 2 jour daffilé durant la fin de semaine. tk je préfère le 1 juillet au 24 juin, car la majorité des players qui va avoir au tournoi ca va être des québécois.

First off, I'd like people to forget the basement tournament, I was the person most pissed in that because that was not what I was promessed I'd get, so please shut the **** up with those jokes. I'm ****ing pissed off at you people right now.

vodka & thatguy, july 24h is a bad day because it interferes with celebrations, and I don't mean that as in getting drunk and everything. That's the least of my preoccupations. The church would be available, but at a certain limit due to restrictions on that day. So that's a no. Thanks in advance for understanding and not being *****.

thatguy, I don't care if this is the worst date for a lot of people, since you don't have anything to back it up except "omg ontarians won't come bla bla bla". I won't cry if you don't come, neither will anybody else.

I got many complaints about July 17th because people were in the middle of exams. In ontario, grade 11-12th = cegep level exams, so it's understandable. I can see that in some cases (or for some people), high school exams aren't important enough for you to spend 2 days to study, but that's not how it goes for everyone. Since grades are more important than smash, that's a good enough reason for me.

July 8th is way to close to FC6. Some people say it might be good practice for FC6. We could have a tournament the day before we leave, it wouldn't help anyway. Have smashfests til then.

Tournament will happen on July 1st, end of discussion.
