then as far as recording goes, maybe you should cram a sock in it?
(to be taken literally, if possible)

I'll post some things some time

if not some things from what we recorded already, we'll record more matches

also, all my socks are clean, and honestly, my feet are less oder producing than my mouth

Dang, why would anyone play a game that's 10 years old?

So anyway, I'm looking forward to that melee tourney in 2 weeks.

we tend to move in circles, so there really is no point.
the concept of purpose was invented and intended to be used as a motivational tool.
this type of thinking is so close to being hypocritical that it feels safe.
the illusion of safety is almost sickening to me...
but i've never been anything resembling a healthy person, so this is my normality.
homeostasis always keeps us inches away from balance.
if i suck at life, then everyone else blows.
that's the real circle of life...
and there really is no point.

kenny, what is life without purpose?

it is a liberty of consciousness to define our own purpose, not a limitation. free thinking can lead to taking the liberty of making that choice to have purpose, rather than to not.

if you can't find one, investing in happiness, or perhaps productivity, are very decent ways to start. sometimes we need to chase after what we love because those are the only things we feel are real.

one inspiration to me is Gootecks. that guy broke up with his girlfriend of 4 years and quit his job so that he could play STREET FIGHTER. it's really weird, and most people would seriously look down upon that. but the guy is having a blast with his life and making a difference in the community he loves.

i'm the happiest i've ever been.
i enjoy my stagnant lifestyle.
if only i can do it without money being involved...

my only goal right now is to enjoy most of my time by "wasting" most of my time.

i think purpose is bull**** but having goals is not.

Just win a million dollars and live off of it for the rest of your life.
Just don't follow in this chick's footsteps

I really like your viewpoint on things Kenny. It's very refreshing. I probably would've said the same thing as Andre if I wasn't for the fact that I read that last sentence in your last post. I agree with you. I still agree with andre's post, but I'd just replace the word 'purpose' with the word 'goals' in every instance. For me anyway, using the word purpose gives the illusion that what we do has more significance than it really does. Everything that I accomplish in life will be completed because I choose to do it, not because it was what I was meant to do.

edit: that tramp reminded me that i still have $35 on my food stamp card. 'bout to go use dat shiz! BOLOGNA, HERE I COME
i think a lot of people get an extra boost from thoughts of destiny or purpose.
(maybe if i found myself scoring touchdown after touchdown in the nfl, i'd start telling people it was my destiny lol. jesus wants the jets to lose?)
i don't believe in purpose or destiny. it doesn't mean i don't enjoy life.
i'm generally happy despite the fact that my views are similar to a cynical, depressed, homeless, ne'er-do-well.

Geez, when did things get so philosophical?
probably around 100,000 years ago when homo sapiens decided to jump aboard the language train.
edit: if you believe that sort of thing.

you: "i'm good at this because it's my purpose"

me: "thinking that's your purpose, actually helps you be better at this"

p.s. i reserve the right to be wrong and/or stupid. just my thoughts, guys. no need to stop following me on twitter.

BTW I think we might've had a slightly different definition for the word. I am not sure if I believe purpose is inherent, but I do believe that each person is called to love and also accomplish greatness. I think that purpose can be discovered and claimed within your life...

Hold on, my thoughts are incomplete. But I will watch project x in a few minutes, a movie about stupid ****!

my dumb ****ing job gave me trainee of the week again.
i just yell out cynical chunks of humor at inappropriate times to express my criticism.
i guess those filipinos love me.
my training class is 8 hours of boredom because i won't learn the hard parts of my job until i hit production.

hey guys deep philosophical read here

it's a full book, so i'll forgive you if you don't wanna read all of it lol

http://www.ee.iitb.ac.in/student/~pdarshan/SmallIsBeautifulSchumacher.pdf

i read this book a few years ago right when i started college, it was a book i took from home that looked interesting enough to read on my own time, and BOY is it interesting.
posting it cuz i reread it very recently and it's fantastic.

also, weighing in on the whole purpose vs. goals matter: purpose is superhuman, goals are human.

to me, the real answer to everything is giving yourself your own purpose to meet your own needs. the world we live in is the world we craft, the friends we make, the hobbies we choose, and the rational heuristics that we set to continue living into the future. work must double as leisure, instead of being completely separate concepts, otherwise nothing awaits you but ennui and dissatisfaction with your lot in life. be a little GAHTLIKE, make yourself the champion that fits your own dreams!

what i look forward to every day has little to do with success of any traditional form.
that might explain why i have trouble grasping the concept of purpose.
i don't seem to need it.

the guy i sit next to at work is in his 40's, has grand kids, and is a southernish, black, christian pastor. talk about finding my soulmate! things often spark deep conversations while we should be training.

it's awesome because our views are such contrasts but we are both calm and receptive to the idea of someone questioning our beliefs, as opposed to putting up the common "that's dumb and you're stupid" defensive response.

it's great. he explains that being gay would leave someone with a spiritual deficit while i explain why i should be able to say "the N word" and burn an american flag.

he was wearing blue alligator shoes today and they actually looked good.

i think i want to write a short story about him and an atheist spending a day together.
i want it to be from his point of view. i'll have to see if i'm still motivated for it this weekend.
