The assists and pokeball pokemon shown thus far are lower poly compared to fighters and stages because they have to be ready to be loaded at any time and can't be too hard on the system. Look at Skull Kid and Ashley's hands for example.
And this is a pretty normal practice. Look at the background characters in fighting games for example. More often than not, they are not as detailed as the fighters. Heck, even in Tag 2, they take out all the spectators on stages when you're playing online to lighten the processing lag as much as possible.

Awesome! I'm loving these Pokemon news, Sakurai. Plus, it took quite a while to get anything Pokemon related.

Yeah pretty much disconfirms Spear Pillar again.

But don't worry, Sakurai will make a new Spear Pillar type stage but with Zekrom and Reshiram as the stage hazards instead. :troll:
Y'know what? I'd be just fine with Dragonspiral Tower.

As long as it didn't decide to just FLIP EVERYTHING UPSIDE DOWN FOR SOME ****ING REASON.

Well goody didn't expect so many to be cool with it seeing as how many tend to hate and complain about wild stage hazards especially those like Spear Pillar. Ah well, I'm cool with Pokemon Black and White getting some love so w/e. ;)

Oh, hello Palkia, with your roar that "sorta kinda sounds somewhat like Godzilla's in a way."
Also, loving the aura effect on Lucario.

With all these Pokémon updates I wouldn't be surprised if we get a Pokémon stage before the end of this week (featuring Lucario in it, obviously :troll:)

Guys... what if the new Pokemon stage is Geosenge town, and the stage hazard is...

The ultimate weapon, and when it's fired everybody is disintegrated and loses all of their stocks, and Team Flare are declared the winners as they dance over the bloodstains that were once your bodies? :awesome:

Or, like... Xerneas and Yvetal do junk, and stuff.

Personally, I loved Gen IV. The physical/special split finally made a lot of Pokemon usable, Platinum is one of my favorite games in the series, The gen 2 remakes actually made me like Gold/Silver, and Magneton got an AWESOME evolution (Magnemite is my 2nd favorite btw).
Unfortunately also the gen that introduced Stealth Rock, a move that had WAY too much meta control and made entire types useless.

People ha trouble with Spear Pillar? ._. I thought it was a pretty easy Stage. And one of my favorites (I admit Palkia turning the stage around could be a pain against CPUs). I will miss it.

Palkia looks awesome, though it dosn't look like he would hit much with that small attack~

Never thought I'd be sad at a stage being deconfirmed. :(

The atmosphere, the reference to an actual location from the games, and the music...twas an amazing stage for just having fun.

And then they diss your fashion sense at the victory screen.

KInd of disappointed with this reveal. Not because I like Spear Pillar but rather because I really don't want to see an over saturation of legendaries like the last game. The whole specialness of unleashing a legendary is lost when half of the poke cast consists of them.

I somehow doubt they'd program something that awesome and yet only make it a 1/718 chance to summon it. I use the term "awesome" loosely.
Oh ****, that's right.

In Smash 64, the super rare legendary (Mew) had a 1/151 chance of appearing. In Melee it was 1/251, in Brawl it was 1/493... Gets rarer and rarer with each game.

Most of the legendaries didn't appear that rarely, though. It was just Mew, Celebi, and Jirachi. Maybe for SSB4, we'll have Victini...

Yeah. Exactly how much of a chance was there for Manaphy to show up? Because I'm pretty sure I've only seen that little dude twice.

I'm fairly sure Manaphy was designed to be so rare and neat in the same spirit that the original Mew evoked in people.

It helps that most people wouldn't even realize it was in the game if not for the Dojo update.

And trophies. I think the trophy's one of those generic ones, so people would get it pretty easily.

I'm late, but woo! Palkia!

I have a feeling that it confirms Dialga as a pokéball too.

Spear Pillar's loop is even simpler to run than Temple's, and the stage was awful in a lot of other ways beyond that. I love stages that do stuff or have complex geography more than almost anyone else, but Spear Pillar was finely crafted to be totally unplayable. I can't say I'm going to miss that stage, and I sure hope that none of the new stages are like that.

Of course, I say this like it's a hard rule that two Palkia can't be on the field at once, but we know that's not true. It's easy to make happen in a Pokemon link battle, and if Sakurai wants it to happen in this game, it will.

Spear Pillar had beautiful design to it but I think the integration of the D&P Legendaries hindered it's potential quite. Dunno if I'll be entirely missing this stage, despite somewhat wasted potential.

Holy moley though Palkia. Dude he's huuuge. Spacial Rend looks also like potentially devastating move, perhaps it leaves an wall of space-rending energy that hurts a big notch if being hit?

Well, I don't know if I should be happy or sad...Spear Pillar was one of my favorite Brawl stages, it was also incredibly iconic...but Palkia does look awesome and he's using Spacial Rend this time! Although we're losing an iconic location from a great game :(

Also, for all the haters, Gen IV was THE BEST GEN. I want Spear Pillar back :c We are already short on iconic locations in this game (Windy Hill? Pyrosphere...?)

I actually liked Spear Pillar because of how chaotic it is, but didn't expect it to return anyways. Palkia is pretty swell, one of the few Gen 4 Pokémons I like.

You're a Ridley fan, AND a Palkia fan? Soulmate<3

I will really miss Spear Pillar. I loved that stage. :( The only thing I didn't like was when batteling CPUs, and Palkia turns the stage around, the CPUs aren't effected, making them a real pain.

Palkia looks good. Not sure what to make of his attack, though. Looks small and easy to Dodge, unless that's just the start of the animation.

Pfft Gen IV was the worst of all 6 IMO. I hated the Sinnoh region. Great to see Palkia back though. He looks great.

Now that Spear Pillar is mostly gone I wonder what Gen 5/6 stage we'll be seeing? I'd personally LOVE a stage based on N's castle from Gen 5 with Reshiram and Zekrom fighting in the background.
