As much as that would suck, the gorgeousness of those trailers make it worth it. To me, anyway. Now only if we could get cutscenes like that in an Adventure mode.

It also means it's not going to be shown on the site alone, since that would destroy all elements of surprise. All Newcomers are going to be shown in Nintendo Directs or Nintendo events first, most likely. So we can rule out the possibilities of waking up one day to find a newcomer included in the site.

Sakurai isn't making a story mode because the the cut scenes were posted on the internet.
Then he makes new animations, and posts them on the internet before the game is even released.

I'm pretty sure he said he wanted to make character introduction videos for newcomers that benefit from internet sharing.

Even still to be totally honest, if they show a newcomer every two months in a direct that'd be what. 2-3 newcomers before the game comes out, leaving plenty unknown. And really that's the maximum. They could use a direct to reveal Snake or another 3rd party like they did Sonic. Then it'd only be 1-2 newcomers before the game is out.

Like I said. Probably anywhere from 1 to 3 if they reveal a character from now in the direct every other month. And other than that we'll probably get a veteran every month.

That'd be 3-4 veterans and 2-3 newcomers I'd say at most by the time the Wii U version releases in Japan. At which point the entire roster will be spoiled for everyone for all eternity.
