Is ice climber even a game in Nes remix 2? Or was it just the first one? I don't see why they'd use a character to advertise a game it doesn't even appear in.

...Well, Marth isn't literally in Awakening. And Sakurai attributed the game specifically to him. He's mentioned, but that's it. On the other hand, maybe we're getting a Lucina alt for him.

ice climbers is in nes remix 1 but tomorrow is 1 and 2 in Physical form tomorrow.

So it's been exactly two weeks since the direct and they took the banners down. Has anyone paid attention to this stuff before? Is it usually two weeks before they take it down or is it a bit more random? Two weeks seems like a perfect amount of time to show something on a website before removing it, so maybe that's just their timetable, or maybe they are getting prepped for revealing something new. Regardless, hype is building, and I like that. :D

Sometimes it's one week before the banners go down. There has been no real pattern for this and it ultimately means little. Now, him doing that to prepare for a semi-new reveal(not necessarily a character) wouldn't be too odd. Maybe he'll reveal a Wii U exclusive?

All of this talk about Ice Climbers for the release of that NES Remix thing but what about R.O.B.? He's an NES 'classic' too, though from my understanding Ice Climber was in the first NES Remix and neither of R.O.B.s games were. Still it'd be a nice twist and I would much rather see R.O.B. than Ice Climbers but maybe that's just me '-'.

I'm sure R.O.B will be shown after the release of smash bros 3ds he was unlockable and his game is not in that collection

And 2 other possiblitys ,eta knight due to Kirby's adventure for nes is in there or nobody because of march and the direct

Actually, that's not true. He uses logic but his way of thinking is so unique that it's practically impossible to tell how he thinks which means he can't be predicted easily.

It went together when King Dedede was revealed for the Japanese release of the new Kirby game.

It would be too easy if Sakurai was always predictably unpredictable.

Hell yeah! Glad to see everyone pumped for potential IC reveal. My old faves. I used to get abused for picking the cute little lovebirds... until I chain grabbed my friends to death.

Anyway, I don't want to get my hopes up. There's a lot of retro aspects to this game, Sakurai could show a stage or item in honour of NES Remix. Either way, I'm excited!

Well both NES remixes are coming to JP
Ice Climbers were in the first game and they are the only character who solely represents the NES/Famicom era (other "retro" characters Pit and Little Mac have already moved on from the system) so it would be fitting.

While there have been lots of pics lately with info linked to the direct, and they certainly have plenty to show for the characters revealed in the direct, I don't think it's "too close" to the direct to reveal the Ice Climbers. I think their reveal would be enough to kickstart the hype for daily pics again, as even their potential reveal brought some back.

its fun to be excited for something smash related again though, the direct was great but it pretty much guaranteed we'd get nothing big for a little while.
