I personally like wagon analysis, it helped me a lot at the end of last game. I'm not sure if Laser does this often, as the only game I've played with him before he died night 1. It seems like he'd be the type of player to do wagon analysis and fit his reads in with it.

However, I do have to thank you for pointing the wagon analysis back so I went to reread it. I found something interesting.

Where is Mala getting the bolded from and how could seeming like someone would do something possibly play into one's read? This is post hoc reasoning that scum!Mala is forcing to be consistent with his read.

I mean you've played with him more, so obviously you know him better. But I see that he usually likes to make long posts, and wagon analysis posts, and he seems like the logical sort of guy who likes everything to fit logically together. Contrary to how you can tell from Chaco's play that when he sees something wrong, he goes ahead and jumps on it, not factoring in other things often till later.

On the contrary I think factoring in how people play into reads should be a thing critical townies should do. I'm not going to read Chaco and Laser the same way, they play differently. If you read everyone with the same broad brush then you are going to be wrong.

I've never played with Chaco before. So if Chaco had been making identical posts to Laser this game, I would say he played in a similar style to Laser, and apply the same amount of trust. If Chaco had been playing the way he did, and Rajam asked me that question, I would not put that I thought it was excuseable because Chaco is that sort of player, because Chaco hasn't shown himself to be, and that would be an incorrect read.

This is also a bus vote. He's establishing himself as being the one to secure the Frozen wagon for that credit. There was also no reason to avoid a jump onto Laser unless he thought he was town. As Ex said, a jump anywhere would have been informative. Tied wagons and the vote hopping that goes around at the end of the day is one of the most useful states of the game.

And stating that he didn't feel my wagon wasn't going to pick up implies that he still preferred my wagon. So it really doesn't make sense that he would switch. The wagon was at 5-3. Frozen would self-prez putting it at 5-4. Z25 had not yet voted, ExLight was swingy, Jack hates me. There was definitely still a chance.

If your wagon still had a chance, why wouldn't scum!Mala try to go that direction then?

I want to think that while she did not plan the murder specifically, she knew how dysfunctional the family was and took advantage of that. She convinced Harlan to break off things with his family, knowing that foul play would likely ensue. Why else have Harlan specifically mention that she was the one who gave him the idea to break things off? It also ties in with her genius as a Go player. You don't win at go by playing willy nilly. It's an act. She is able to outsmart people while acting naive. Harlan's reference to her beating him at Go more than Ransom alludes to the fact that she ultimately outsmarted them both. And Detective Blanc too (Blanc. White. Like the white Go pieces she outmaneuvered). I don't think she had this master plan for the meds be switched, but I think she could have taken advantage of it after having noticed that they were switched and that the counter drug was missing. As detective Blanc said in the end, she knew the liquids on visual alone. She deduced that someone was trying to frame her and played along, knowing that he had just cut his fam out of the will and she was the person next closest to him.

Really though, it's probably not true, but I want to think it is.

Correct. Laser had to switch because of his stances and having just stated that he was open to wagoning with me and Fonti. They probably felt like Frozen was going to be the yeet at that point and decided to lean into the bus.

Overall, I guess I've slept a bit on Mala's slot, because at first it gave me a strong town impression. Still, I have read his (and everyone's) posts always with a scrutinizing mindset, and never found anything scummy. Last-minute vote on frozen looks bus-sy, but at the same time Mala had a lot of posts during deadline and I've always thought that's a good townie thing.

Sorry Zen, I really think you're town and I like to work with my town reads, but voting Mala is a no from me toDay. If I live through this Day I'll of course definitely check Mala's slot deeper, but at this moment I'd still lynch Z25 over Mala, and I dont even want to lynch Z25 that bad right now.
