Heh, I guess so. I'm not saying thats bad or anything, I just wish the gameplay was much longer. It's still fun, though.
Yeah, it's a shame. MGS2 has it in spades... the gameplay is great fun, but it's slathered in cutscenes. The last one is... what? 50 minutes? Then you do the final boss... which takes 5 minutes. It's all interesting enough though, so it's cool.

With cutscenes, it works because it focuses your attention on what's important. Obviously, story is the most important thing in this series, so it makes sense to have so many cut scenes. The gameplay is fun regardless when it's actually up and there. I am am probably going to buy the Metal Gear Trilogy next weekend to replay the whole series.

Just finished the game.

The final boss fight = most epic final boss fight in any game I've ever played.
It was pretty **** amazing, I really enjoyed MGS4. Time to play some MGO and get all the extras.

I was a bit disappointed with the final boss, I didn't know it was going to turn into SmackDown vs. Raw.

I thought an
all CQC fight with Liquid at the end was pretty fitting for the final boss. I loved the grapples and how it said Naked Snake vs. Ocelot at one point. Snake slamming Liquid's head against those columns was pretty **** brutal.

Okay guys. My parents (unfortunately) aren't letting me get the game because of the M-rating.

So, I need a plot synopsis. Now.

And not getting the game for the M rating sucks man. Sucks.

EDIT:
Oh, and Mike, I read your comment before as "This game sucks major ***". ^^

When I first got the game, I went to the Gamestop closest to my house, but they were out. The guy working there called the next closest Gamestop, and he held the last one for me. When I got there, he freaked out. He was like, "MAN, YOU ARE SO AWESOME. TAKE THIS FREE ARTWORK BOOKLET AND COUPON FOR A DISCOUNT ON THE HARD COPY STRATEGY GUIDE!" I guess he wasn't supposed to hold a copy for me. Anyways, I beat the game last friday or so, and I'm on my second playthrough. I'm going for a fox emblem this time, then I'll shoot for Big Boss. If anyone sees me online, my name is "AngryGazebo."

God, I love the Metal Gear franchise. Even though a play an awkward Snake in Brawl. I just wish that I didn't have to buy a PS3 just to play MGS4, but man I want to play it so bad. -_-;

There is some intresting new DLC on the Playstation Store, its called the Metal Gear Database. Its basically an encyclopedia for the Metal Gear universe.

It's pretty awesome actually.
MGS4 helped PS3 sales last week as well. It outsold everything.

Wow. I really, really doubt the accuracy of that chart. I mean really. If that's true, then the 360 only sold a couple hundred units (or less) last week.

...But pie charts ftw, regardless.

I tried playing some MGO, but I dunno... its not that fun. Probably because I like CQC too much, and the CQC is severely underpowered until you get level 3 blades (which I don't have). Although its ridiculously awesome to run around with a shield and a knife on cycle. Its so satisfying <3

I have to decide if I should play MGO right now or start replaying MGS4. I know I'm going to beat the game at least one more time...

I was faced with the same choice Samurai, and I'm trying to get all the extras like the BB rank and stealth camo/bandana before I head into MGO.

Want to make sure I have all I want in story mode before I go on.

Ever since I beat the single player mode in MGS4, I've been trying to play online. This isn't the first time I've played online games, but this is the first time I've been having this much trouble. While play Mario Kart Wii, GTA IV, etc, I have never been disconnected once, and the lag is never present. But while playing MGO, it's become virtually impossible to finish a single match. I've ruled out almost everything being the problem, because if it was my internet/router, why would it only be happening for this game and not others? (I have a 100% singnal strength/Bell high speed internet/Belkin G wireless router). Not only am I being kicked out of matches and being sent back to the login screen, I'm also being signed out of the Playstation network alltogether!

I've tried searching this problem out for days, but now I have to turn to forums to see if there's anyone out there who can shed some light on this problem. Any information would be great. Thanks.

Can't help ya buddy, but I sure as hell hear ya. I have the very same issue. very second game I get signed out of the network for some reason, or the lag goes into insane levels (OMG HEADSHOT NOW HE KILL ME AND MANY OTHERS BEFORE FINALLY DYING) and the amount of "connection unstables" I get... whew. I'm hoping for a patch soon, because it's pretty crazy.

Good fun though.

I think I may have found a solution, for now. Instead of going into Automatching, go into Free Battle (the real name is escaping me right now...unless that's it). While in there, find a host with a good rating and a match with no more than 8 players...for some reason I stayed connected to an entire night of matches with that one host. A good 2 hours. Give that a try and see if that works. Who knows, I may have just been lucky last night, but I'm going to try the same thing today.

I'm not sure if I've ever posted in this thread but this game is so good it's worth posting just to say how good it is.

The game is so good it's also worth quoting a post that's posting just to say how good it is just to emphasize how good it is.

I wish my PS3 read discs again so I can play this again. It's a shame too since it happened in Act 1 of my BBE run.

Could a Wii run MGS4?

I remember that the biggest issue with porting it to the Xbox was a disc space problem; but there has only ever been one wii game that even filled the specialized wii-discs half way, and that was SSBB (the only game on the wii that utilizies the "dual layer" nature of the wii discs).

Not only that, but there have been a lot of rumors that anything Xbox can run at 720p a wii can run at 480p, due to the additional strain running games in 720p puts on the hardware. Is there a reason a wii can't run MGS4?

MGS4 on Wii would be pretty funny. The opening movie would play (in SD) and then you'd have to switch to disc 2. Then you walk, disc 3. Etc. THAT was the concern with the 360 port, which has bigger discs than the Wii, so I really doubt it.

As for the counter - MGS geeks have said it is one 5 countdowns that actually end on June 1st - Microsoft's E3 day. This PROBABLY the announcement that MGS4 will be ported to 360, but who knows. The shape of the glowing character is either a 5 or a block S.

Actually, they're about the same size when the wii discs are dual-layered.

What's weird is that only Brawl utilizes a dual layer disc, and due to it only supporting 480p and 480i, games don't require as much space anyway.

Even if MGS4 can't fit on a dual layer wii disc, I would love to see them try, simply because no games really push the upper limits of the disc storage space.

Oh so the countdown ends during E3? Well it's obviously MGS related, look in the bottom right corner, but why would a 5 be flashing on the screen? What would that have to do with a MGS4 port? And what does the grassy field have to do with anything?

Conspiracy theorists would say...I'm not sure.
