So anyway I was brawling one day and I made the strangest discovery. I dash grabbed an opponent right at the edge and did a down throw to find that an opponent already on the ledge, without invincibility frames, fell to his death due to one of MK's kicks in his down throw.

The video footage is right here

I'm still unsure of the technicality of the spike though it is not too powerful however I presume that either it's some sort of glitch or that one or two of MK's down throw body blows have the ability to knock down opponents if directly under him.

I'm not too sure if this has already been discovered but I've found nothing like this online so I'm assuming I'm the first to find out. I don't think it'll be that useful unless you're in a team battle with friendly damage on and you could use it as a strategy. Or you could use it whilst an opponent is about to ledge attack and another opponent is right near the edge. It's not too powerful because in my demonstration that attack only gave Captain Falcon 1% damage so you could imply that it is the weakest meteor smash in the game which knocks opponents downwards like a spike whilst causing very little damage. But it could also be argued with the Weegee down taunt spike (which is just plain awesome).

So anyway I hope you enjoy the short video. Please don't hesitate to ask any questions and please do visit my channel to look at some of my more popular and better videos (though I uploaded this one just today, lol)

Thanks

The hitbox of MK kicking Marth simply affected Falcon after his invincibility frames wore off and he had yet to climb up.

It's impractical at best in a competitive situation.

Good find. But it doesn't look like the meteor smash is that strong... C. Falcon was able to do a nair right after he fell off. I'm assuming he most likely could have done his second jump instead, but pressed the A button on accident. Maybe it would have been stronger if C. Falcon had more %. All in all, it's pretty cool, but not very practical since you can't do it in a 1v1 match, and the set up is actually opponent-dependent. Although it would be sweet, in a 2v2, if you did a dthrow on your teammate to spike your opponent.

Dead. *****es.
This isn't that useful.

I did think that if you use N-air right above your opponent then the get sent downwards....sort of....

It's been known that sometimes grab attacks can affect people who haven't been grabbed. I'm pretty sure that Falcon was just affected by one of the hits and was taken by surprise so he didn't really react. It's not a meteor smash so much as it is falcon got hit while on the edge(for 1%) and fell off without realizing it until it was too late.

As for practicality, I'd say none. Even in a team battle you're better off dtilting if someone is just hanging on the edge. More damage and sets up just fine for dair gimping X_X

Yeah it's more of a week hit + gravity than an actual meteor.

hmmm...

I wonder if this works with Kirby's dthrow as well?

It's cool, but highly impractical and fairly useless at the competitive scene.
