Formatting will delete files. That's the point, if you have corrupted files.
Chkdsk is a command-line process to check file system integrity. It usually starts prompting you with it before a harddrive fails or if an SD card has corrupted. It won't delete files generally.
About to go into class, but Google should have explanations.
Is there a way to run this on GC off of a memory card? This seems perfect for tournaments with the lagless FoD (which makes it legal for teams) and other features.

(Double post on purpose since this is important)
Hey all, if you have ever used the Community Build, could you please give us some feedback? We're trying to determine the most requested features for a future build, or if a future build is even warranted at all. I prepared a short questionnaire you can find below. Let me know your thoughts!
Hello !
I answered the survey a while ago, saying that I used this build for my local scene and all : o)
I was just wondering, how did you change the layout in the SSS? I saw a lot of tutorials about textures and all, but I have no idea how to do this

Thanks for answering the survey!
The layout of the SSS was changed by finding and editing the position of the stage icons on the SSS. A lot of stage icons are grouped together (like a row) and had to be moved all at once. I can't find it, but I think either I or Jorgasms made a post on the SSS a long time ago in the thread Melee Hacks and You.
There's no difference in performance between vMelee and the Community Build if used locally in normal tournament play. If you are using the lagless FoD in local doubles, there is little to no lag.

Myougi > Thanks for the answer : o) I'll do some archeology on that thread
Do you mind me tweaking your mod for my local scene? (Still giving you credit for the mod itself of course : o) )
I'm trying to build a "frankenstein" version of your mod based on 20xx(I like the look/musics stages and style of your mod but I also need 20xx function to teach some beginner how to play melee)
That why I'd like to be able to transfer the SSS on a 20xx copy of the game, but I still need to understand how to swap the stages(if you just move the SSS over, clicking on the yoshi's island icon will load icicle mountain etc..)

Swapping stages on the SSS (where they actually link to) required DOL modding. I changed the icons/preview text of each stage individually via texture hacking later. You can easily do the same thing and swap in/out stages using the same method, though it's probs outdated by now.
Here's a list of all the stage values and their offsets. These should be for vanilla.
Key:
Name
Offset in the Start.DOL (They are all 0x1C apart)
AABBCCDD
AA - Stage type?
BB - Icon/Model/Text Preview ID
CC - Stage Select Menu ID
DD - Stage to load ID

So if you want to have your 20XX/Comm Build Hybrid SSS link to the right stages, you should just have to copy and paste all the modified SSS stage values to the ones in the Community Build. Just open up the Community Build's Start.DOL in a hex editor, then copy from 3ED6D8 - 3EDA08 and paste it in the same location in your 20XX Start.DOL. If that doesn't work let me know, this is kinda off the top of my head.
It depends on your computer then. If you have a lower-end computer, you'll see better performance with the build. If you have a higher-end computer, you're not going to notice much of a difference at all.
Thank you so much for the detailled answer ! I'll look into that this afternoon
Those info really help me understanding the melee file stucture, I'm starting to really like melee "hack".
I probably won't do anything crazy but it's fun to learn : o)

Mind pointing my to a guide to show me how to use said code? I'd already spent an hour or two trying to use that exact code before I posted here. Tried updating the .ini file and all that good stuff. It just wouldn't work. I couldn't even get the cheat code to show up in the menu (on Dolphin).

Also from the main post:
Open up Dolphin and right click on your MNCB iso, select properties, go to the 'Gecko Codes' tab, click edit config, then paste the following:

Some quick things to remember with using Gecko codes in Dolphin:
'[Gecko]' must be at the top of the entire text document for Dolphin to register Gecko codes.
'$' must be in front of a name of a Gecko code. Names can have spaces like the one above. On the line following the code's name must be the Gecko code itself.

Yeah that exact thing doesn't work. I put it in the file, save it, nothing happens in dolphin. Then when I open the file again it rewrites it to blank again.

It might be...
I honestly don't know though. Gecko codes should work like that no matter the OS. Are both version of Dolphin the same on both computers/OSes and are cheats enabled in the Config menu on both? I can't think of anything directly that would be the problem.

Yeah, exact same everything. Whatever, now that 20XX TE is out I'll probably be using that for local play. Still performs just as well and it has a widescreen toggle in game.
Are you using running Windows or OSX?
If you're running OSX, try using Multipatch. If you're running Windows, try running it from an administrator's account of using the patcher though command line.
I got the ISO to patch and it works perfect on my Mac. But when I turned it off and then turned it back on my controller didn't want to work, even after reinstalling the driver for the controller adapter. Any idea what the issue could be?
This build is incredible!! Thank you for all the work you guys put in into making this. I especially love the lagless FoD where now I can play doubles with my friends. Hopefully this will be added in 20XX TE so we can somehow have it in the stage list, death to kongo jungle as CP.

Try temporarily disabling any anti-virus software you might have, or let XDeltaUI.exe and XDelta.exe though their firewall. Something is probably blocking it.
