Smash Journeyman
For some reason most SSMB players do not understand the potential of Falco. He is the perfect combination of speed, power and most importantly manuverability. If used right he can rack up kills faster than any other character. To be used effectively though, Falco must become much like the bird he is modeled after, an aviary preadator. He is most powerful in the air because of his ability to cover large ditances quickly. When two other opponents are caught up in a duel he can fly in to the scene and strike down with a variety of powerfull attacks capitalizing on an opportunity for some easy KOs. Another tactic is to wait for opponents to be hit high up off the screen. Once they start their slow ascent downwards close in with his fiery aerial strike. Regardless of how you hit them this powerfull attack will always knock your opponent directly upward. If the attack is performed high enough on the screen it is capable of KOing opponents with even relatively low damage. One might think it foolish to do aerial attacks frequently, but with Falco there is not much of a risk because of his extremely fast falling rate, and quick attack recoveries. Even while Falco is high on damage he is extremely effective. His ability to move quickly makes him very difficult to hit, especially on the larger stages. This is one of the most effective Falco strategies. He is a master of drawing opponents in to careless situations where they expose themselves foolishly because they are enraged by the fact that they cant hit him. Sure some players might know better, but all it takes is a few annoying laser shots to keep them coming. That is the best thing about Falco, his ability to aggravate and annoy opponents. One thing I enjoy doing is waiting until I get a real cheesy kill on one of my opponents. Once my opponent flies off to his pathetic death, I pause the game, zoom in on Falco's head and spout out the words "Falco Forever". If done quickly this little effect should only interrupt the game for two seconds, but man is it worth it. I suppose the same could be done with any character, but it wouldnt have the same effect, simply because of Falco's arrogant demeanor. Anyways the whole reason for doing this is to enrage your opponent and have them come after you. This will cause a chain of wrecklessness that will make it easy for other players to cheap shot the angered opponent who is focused solely on you. While some may think that Fox who is also capable of performing the aformentioned strategies is the better of the two characters, I strongly disagree. Fox simply does not have the power to KO as easily as Falco. Furthermore his jump is weaker, which makes him less manuverable in the air. In VS melee time and stock modes, Falco is hands down the best. For you serious gamers out there, I hope you take this info to heart. Even if you don't use Falco that's all the better. Your friends will be shocked at how you effectively destructive this deceptive character can become.
